bongo joes 45s series continues, presenting for the first time music from the past. this fifth single focusses on legendary algerian kabyle rock band abranis founded in 1967. the band pioneered the fusion of chaabi (traditional) music with 60s-70s western rock, proudly singing in their own berber kabyle language while wearing hippy rockers outfits. their shows in deeply influenced by pan-arabism conservative algeria were often cancelled by governors and the band once was arrested by the police, generating riots. they kept on playing and recording until mid 90s. this 45 presents two majors tracks from the band: chenar le blues, released in 1977, was a big hit on algerian national radio. the bands response to the doors. avehri, released in 1983, shows the band s obsession with merging different music styles with the north african tradition. this one goes strangely reggae.

on eternal children, forward thinking music group equiknoxx, comprising of (shanique marie, bobby blackbird, gavsborg, kemikal splash & time cow) do something they have never done before: express themselves as a collective.

welcome to another chrome-plated arcola curveball, this time in the form of a trio of the moodiest cyber steppers from the shadowy levl. somewhere in an ai ether, faded pirate radio transmissions merged with drowsy half-memories of metal gear solid and gained sentience. the results are subtle yet sublime, a masterful combination of percussion and atmosphere to get truly lost within. these three shots of cave-dwelling soundsystem mutation are as evocative as they are insular and in the midst of these uncertain days you may just find you need them in your life.

greetings and welcome from axces. we re a small local copenhagen community of friends and curious souls. this is our very first record. alfredo92 and kasper marrot run the label, and they ve produced two tracks with help from our good friends carl emil and lauge. the record was created in 2017 at the professional facilities we ve come to know as nordvest auto. on both tracks, you ll hear a lot of drums, some bass, effects, samples, vocals and sounds from beyond, we don t know how to describe. they ve been tested on various sound systems during the past year, and we can ensure you that a flat eq and max volume will suit the tracks almost anywhere. we really hope you enjoy our effort. if you should ever find yourself in copenhagen axces will provide counselling and guidance at own risk.

the shanklin sessions came out of the shanklin road studio that andy sims shared with one of his partners from soft rocks, bobby coulman. acid jan started its life as a jan hammer edit that andy was doing for one of soft rocks disco powerplay releases. there were a few parts that never made the final cut, but were too good to leave, so andy got friend jaime read in to jam with the left over bits, and from that acid jan was born (none of the jans original parts made it to this finished re-incarnation). acid jan found it s way onto cynic label boss felixs usb and subsequently was played at every festival/club that felix played for about a year. when andy heard felix playing it at alfresco festival in 2016, they decided to release it on cynic. in search of a b side for the release, andy dug out the other dat s from the session acid jan was recorded at, and found sitars over shanklin, a suitably oddball track to grace the other side. a little piece of chicago via india recorded in brighton.
