arne weinbergs integrity constraint – part 2 is a worthy follow up to the well-received first release in this series. arne has produced these tracks in his atmospheric and well-known style, in which beautifully arranged sounds embrace the listener in a timeless journey.

worst friends is ryan cavanagh and john paul jones (no, not that one) from brooklyn. they are also known amongst the beards as tom croose and slow hands. we actually suspect they are pretty good friends … making this sweet sweet music together and all … oh, and they just had a cool record out on oz-label future classic. the music sounds very unlike any short persons playing sports of any kind though slow and low is definitely the tempo. there is the beautiful balearic original, eric duncan gives us a psychedelic ride on the disco carousel and prins thomas channels the song through recently aqquired skills as a choirboy and 4 finger keyboards chords…. oh my….

the three tracks for this release go through a wide range of our sound. >cyclone< by samuel dan and feygin is a throwback to the way dirtybird records sounded back in 2006, raw and fun with big drums. but >cyclone< sounds amazing compared to the sound quality of some of those old records we all love, a definite update to the old db vibe. b-jus >babbel net< is his follow-up appearance to last years bomb track >my sneakers< that all of us played 1000 times. this is more in the smooth 808 style of dirtybird while still giving you some punch and melody. this record works really well for me and this groove crossover into a house set no problem. last but not least is maelstroms >you play<. this is a real monster, not so much for the house heads but instead for those of you who like to cross genres and explore the bass regions during your sets. definitely not your friendly deep house record this one is a real db banger in the tradition of big dirty bass we love here in san francisco.

after their huge success in 2009 and 2010 one can truly say kaiserdisco are now one of the contemporary stars in the techno universe. rather than trying to match expectations the duo from hamburg followed their instincts and have again chucked out music that will place them in top positions. they dedicated this record to the people in lima, peru. their new tune lurin is a bomb of a groove track with a stunning diversity of different samples and sounds including hip ethno samples and all it takes to make it a hi-tech kaiserdisco product come alive.

part ii ? axis audio. mokira once told kontra-musik that three analog tape echoes are needed to produce one mokira track. when listening to the track axis audio you can hear why. metallic bursts of sound hits like waves on an irish shore in autumn. kept together by a solid bassline and a fragile melody axis audio is an excursion in beautiful sounds. on the b-side, echospace (deepcord, modern love) makes you dance. it is distorted, it is minimal, it is raw and last but last not least, it is oh so funky. this track will move dance floors.

geno records first release comes to you from belgium based dan d. dan comes from a traditional of both classical and jazz traditions. dan also developed a love of latin dance in his youth. once moving to berlin in 2001, dan was further influenced by the house sounds of the original panorama bar. dan himself has continued on to dj some of berlins best parties/venues including beatstreet, watergate, arena, maria, and the new panorama bar. club der visionäre has also been very important to dans musical growth. dan has had the opportunity to cut his teeth playing 10 hour marathon sets during his regular appearances since 2004. furthermore, he appeared in clubs like rote sonne (munich) and decadance (gent, belgium). friends like tobi neumann and dinky got him into production in 2003. dans first vinyl release on district of corruption lead to praise from some of the best djs in the business. the african market is quite an evolved sophomoric release for dan. the title track, african market, is a pulsating but stripped down organic percussive journey. afro-cuban rhythms lovingly exchange energy with warm analog synths and crisp techno electronic beats. the flip side, el baile, is a slow burning house jam. el baile features eerily reverberated studio recorded vuvuzela, crisply saturated jazz keys, and the same pumping afro-cuban rhythms that sets dans sound apart from others.

musik gewinnt freunde start the new year with the second various artist release in a row. this time it s a simple combination. you just take two guys from hamburg (germany) and two from france. the result is a record with versatile sounds that fit perfectly together as one. kind regards from hamburg are sent by oliver schories (releases on ostwind and parquet) with a grown-up, chords-driven house track and nutia with an airy, coltish piece of music, which brings us right into spring-time. there is going to be some great french music in your ears by caspian, who leads us straight to the dancefloor.

next up on blitz is our first brand new recording. it was recorded in summer 2010 near atzaro, ibiza. visage and blitz club music supremo rusty egan was staying there over the summer and was making fine use of the inbuilt studio tagged onto his villa. sounds like some fine inspiration for a summer electro anthem... cue two of the hottest dance producers around, germanys justus kohncke and italys bottin. the triumvirate was now complete.

videopacolypz is a side project coming from dutch jungle / breakcore / dubstep producers deformer. they are strong players amongst the progressive electronic music scene for years already and are about to release a new album and limited 7inch single entitled >videopacolypz g2012<. this release is based on the philips >videopac g7000< gameconsole that came out back in 1978. with the limited choice of sounds coming from this computer, a complete album was recorded that will tear up dance floors this year. beware though, this is not the official new deformer album, but a side project in a similar tradition: videopacolypz g2012...
the cd album and colored 7inch single (transparent and transparent blue) will come in one limited edition package of only 500 copies worldwide and will not be repressed!

with this new release from amir on trapez ltd, it is clear that amir has turned towards house music even more than with his last releases. he has set the focus here on a stronger mix down with less small snippets but rather bold and fat jacking sounds

it seems that dapayk used to listen to a lot of hip-hop when he was younger. his latest ep for still vor talent >let go< has got these influences written all over it. the title track starts out with a male vocal and some sounds that sound a little like scratching before things then quickly head into the direction of the club. the vocal by singer camara could not be more reminiscent of 80s house music and this track has got all the soul and groove of this era. beneath the delicate vocal and sound patterns lies a wonderfully simply staccato house groove that is sure to get everyone shuffling. on the flip things get a little more techy with >nneka<, a deeper and more melodic tech house glider that gently takes the listener towards a harmonic state of mind. beautifully arpeggiated pads, a warm soulful groove and some reverbed vocals make this one. last up is the sample-based tech-house stomper >upyo< featuring production partner jon hester. this is loop heaven: a pushy beat loop with many snares, reverse samples and an unexpected saxophone melody make this one the perfect changeover track from warm-up to peak-time. this ep shows dapayks skills to combine many musical influences into his unique still of tech-house music

syndrome picks up the pace again with another fat slab of rolling tech business. krone is the one taking the stand and starts off with a steamrolling roller made together with >malsum< we are not alone is one to keep your eyes on. like ghost train you can hear it coming in from miles away rattling along the tracks with the cries of all its zombie passengers inside.dont let this one get you as youll lose your brain.for babylon 21 krone trucks along solo style.. things turn a bit lighter but are all about the groove. like back in the old days before all the sounds got processed to death.. this one keeps it subtle groovy and funky all at the same time!

heavy duty remix ep (accompanying the first sic! release on meakusma) features reworks by errorsmith, lowlow and quarion. errorsmith remodels orange sky, in his inimitable style, into a bouncing bomb, solely focused on making the dancefloor explode in delirious delight. lowlows version explores the darker side of the track, conjuring up a syncopated nu disco rhythm that sounds claustrophobic and ecstatic at the same time. quarion takes orange sky to the beach and gives it a balearic house feel.

edit supremo ajello graces us with another solid ep of slightly off the beaten track disco action on the demo disc label.. some known sounds like ishs amazing >dont stop< get edited along with some lesser spotted tracks.. another solid release from these guys, perfect dancefloor gear! check

fried tofu exists to bring some soulful sounds back into the mix. they have a militant approach to their output, selecting only the finest source material, and sympathetically reducing the ingredients to their raw, dancefloor friendly essence celebrating the often superior production of the 70s and 80s and avoiding the loudness wars which has seen club music recently distilled into an overcompressed and lifeless mass. far too many words have been wasted in the average release info sheet. so lets keep it short and let the music speak for itself.

after a furious appearance on cocoon komaton now joins the pro-tez family. >sweet princess< is a bass-bin filling, dance-floor destroying track from the hottest austrian export since arnold schwarzenegger. the a-side has the original version that deeply pulsates through some lonely piano with noise fractals and druggy vocals. it creates subtle sounds building throughout with percussion to excite. a2 follows with a sublime aural dub version by bvoice & khz. on the flip side scsi-9s remix has the power to fill the room with sound in a way that only pro-tez releases do. a must-have!

produced in 2004, this ep marks an essential shift in the production of stefan goldmann to his modus operandi as a dedicated innovator. he had adapted the barricade guise to induce some serious deviations into the techno realm. yet, heads werent ready and he simply continued under his real name with his major breakthrough works: perlons blood ep and the legendary sleepy hollow tune. hidden from the public, aleko and frantic had built a prototypic aesthetic of rough, concrete-space sounds - reduced dark, metallic percussion grooves, spring reverbs and degraded post-acidic synths. you name it where you heard this sound years later. its revealing how far ahead these tunes were at the time of their creation. they sound more now than many current tracks. aleko is the 4/4 techno version of this soundset, locked-in clonk patterns built around a nitrous bassline. frantic could be a future development to todays dubstep, if it wasnt its actual historic predecessor. add the schizophrenic bass excursion heliotrope and you have a package of painstaking relevance. back then the a&rs simply didnt get it - thats why it took 6 years and the formation of victoriaville to finally bring these gems to light
