amsterdam based artist and creative technologist andeh lang is back on will & ink. after debuting on this label in august 2016 with an uncredited black label, he now serves up three more tracks that show off his interest in shaping and sculpting sounds for the main imprint. all these tracks were created with his own custom made software and self-programmed audio algorithms. three experimental techno excursions that go by the name of susskind showcase a wide variety of deserted techno landscaping by a creative mastermind.

kiki gyan�s star didn�t burn long, but it burned bright. drafted into the afro funk super group, osibisa, at 15, he was millionaire by 18 and regarded as one of the best keyboardists in the world by 21. �life was good, man,� he told journalist kweku sakyi-addo. �too good!�. in 1983 he dived head first into the new york party scene. he took a lot of drugs, spent a lot of time in clubs and got together a team of crack local musicians to record feelin� alright, his third and final solo album. all the kiki gyan trademark elements are present and correct. the album is unique a blend of highlife music with electronic funk and disco. �rosemary� follows the formula most closely and was a hit across nigeria and ghana. but on �give it to me�, �love to love you� and the title track, you�ll hear a slicker, boogie-influenced sound that has made feelin� alright one of his most sought-after albums. kiki gyan would never hit such heights again. his addictions eventually took hold and he died aged 47, destitute and alone. feelin� alright remains one of the brightest stars in his extraordinary constellation.

name in lights have been organising parties, djing, producing music and running their own label feed for a long time. fact is - they are kind of royalty back in stockholm. after releasing records on under the shade, free association, let s play house, as well as getting remixed by dr dunks and axel boman it s now time to present two tracks on omena. believe it or not but the ties between omena and name in lights go way back. all inclusive is that type or track you would either start or end the night with while post mortem sounds like dj koze and isolee would have a baby together. on this release there are two remixes which completely flip the originals. underground hero samo dj is a force to be reckoned with. with recent releases on the trilogy tapes, public possession and an album on snaker together with maxxxbass he found time to work all inclusive into something completely new. watch out for the end. finally label boss tooli delivers a remix filled with as much rhodes and conga as your heart desires.

for release number four octo champ brings his not quite here yet ep to the table and hits a house music home run and then some. two part summery club jams, two part dreamy morning after grooves, packed with deep synth swells, diva-esque vocal samples and sultry basslines. this one�s bringing the summer to winter 2017.

too many possibilities can also mean a tyranny of the what if.... in this light, celebrating less becomes vital. and thats exactly what swedish producer and studio barnhus affiliate simon haydo does in redux. all of the sounds in the albums nine tracks come from just one synth: the korg ms20. as simon puts it, the idea was to maximize the use of less, basically. less gear, less effects, less input from other people , less everything.using only between 2 and 6 channels for every track, the result is a stripped but surprisingly rich sound, that delineates spatial techno vignettes coated with the unmistakable charac- ter of the ms20 filters. even more interestingly, this restraint is not only applied gear-wise, but also from an emotional point of view. instead of involving my own feelings, i let the voice of the ms20 take care of it, says simon. all this makes redux an expression of techno in its purest form. after all, its a kind of music that has always gravitated around simplicity, austerity and, of course, the believe that the machines have their own soul.

its a pleasure to introduce tony rainwater, undoubtedly the most productive and creative savage weve come across recently. see usually we dont do this, lehult is a crew affair, but this guy left us no choice. being a music enthusiast, dj and dancer for a long time, tony has only most recently picked up producing his own music, yet at a stunning rate: when we first asked him for a demo, three months after he started producing, he swiftly dropped us a set of twenty-five tracks, another set of fifty more soon followed. his productions are straight rough edged, no-prisoners-taken jams, combining samples from the most far-flung corners of his eclectic music collection. his magical patchwork wild style is on full display on his debut rockberry jam ep for lehult. the a-side takes us through the lighter side of his repertoire with the title tracks slow building house groove, some dizzy medieval monk grooves on to all the world and seductive r&b on lay it on the line. on the flip operalight irresistible groove and black dream flowers provide some darker moments, before alone closes on a soft note. the vinyl version includes an extra goodie after the runouts. tony is now a fixed member of the crew already and were proud to have him and his crazy energy on the team. this wont be the last youll hear of him.

after an ep on creme organization off-shoot jericho one as dj plant texture, dona basile now assumes his dona alias for a new ep on the main label. entitled the v.g.p sessions, it features four new cuts from the italian, with three of them being dj pt mixes. up first is a live cut version of energia , a bristling electro track with globular bass and coarse hits. turbulent but full of synth based serenity, it is a fine start. cigarettes (djpt mix) is rugged and broken, with glossy idm synths and corrugated drums all loosely arranged into something prickly and unsettling. the deads at twelve (djpt mix) then gets even more fucked up, with rusty synths and blown out drums making for a dystopian house groove that will likely soundtrack the apocalypse. last but not least, nr. 13 (djpt mix) mixes up detroit synths, wild acid, heavenly chords and chopped up, buried deep vocal samples into something that will fire every synapse in your body. this is outlier stuff from dona that sounds like little else.

it was in june of 1980. after a long and intense journey through time and space, rupert marnie met spiritual highness frater loannis and became his apprentice. the magus told him invaluable things, like controlling his precious bodily fluids and the holistic mastery of others� endocrine glands. the greatest wisdom though reached him on his seventh day, when frater loannis professed him an an-cient ritual that would allow him to meet the titan ufohagen, also known as cdboy. it was the 4th, when he appeared, dressed in a long, slim silk cloak, a sprinkling wand in his right. rupert stood in awe, immediately losing his newly gained fluid control, and started crafting a piece of music, that would remind mankind that not all is lost, as long as there is almighty ufohagen.

sometimes you can tell from the first listen of a recording that its creator has a totalizing vision that transcends time and genre. you will experience this rare sensation when you play panoram�s �a doom with a view�. the italian producer has tapped into a vein of surrealist sonic collage that s at once allusive and elusive. the album parades baffling micro-movements past your ears like a secret history of misunderstood musical remnants heard on damaged media formats, 50 years after a catastrophic disaster. it exposes continuity and logic as specious myths, jettisoning these vestigial elements in order to make space for a higher form of aural alchemy.

advanced deep driving techno from amsterdam! jp enfant s let recordings continues to slowly but surely build a fine reputation, and in fact his last ep on the label featured a track, sirens , which got used to great effect by daniel avery on his acclaimed dj kicks mix. now a fourth interesting ep on let recordings comes from shoal, who makes his first out on vinyl after a digital release on planet rhythm in october. utrecht based shoal aims to balance his techno sounds somewhere between rhythmic hypnosis and detailed soundscaping. he urges listeners to twitch out of their comfort zone and to really engage with his music. that is made all the more easy given that it is such inventive stuff. a powerful ep from this emerging new artist.

after three years and ten eps, amsterdam s will & ink label offers up its first full length from label favorite yaleesa hall and is called woodall. it explores texture, space and sound design in fascinating ways. since 2014 yaleesa hall has released four eps on the label and has become known for breakbeat laced stripped-down techno. this debut album finds the producer indulging a less dance floor focussed version of his sound, and one that is better suited to the full length format. explaining that his tracks most often start as -sound structures and experiments- that then get reworked for the club, here they stay closer to their original forms. woodall is sound sculpture that is electronic and synthetic but also made of real world sounds that are all truly absorbing. comes in gatefold sleeve.

mono junk�s cult label dum records is back with a new five track various artists ep that again packs a vital punch. he appears himself along with some fellow legends of the scene. first up, morpholgy is a consistent performer who has continued to serve up quality electro since 2009 and here serves up a hot new piece. �vector plant� is busy and industrial, slick and metallic as it unfolds and burrows deep into your veins. then comes the a2, irwin berg featuring freestyle man (aka finnish moodmusic boss sasse aka klas lindblad) with a track made in 1995 and never released before. this pair worked together and made a cult electro record for sähkö recordigs in 1998 and this one is just as impactful. it is frosty and frazzled, slow motion but high impact and full of distorted lines and heavy drums. next is mr velcro fastener who were the first kings of electro to come out of finland and between 1999 and 2006 were famous all over the world. their brand new cut �almost there� is a deep one that is riddled with bleeping melodies and has smeared chords bringing a sci-fi feel. then it is mono junk�s turn to dive into the vaults with an unreleased track from 2005. �feeling or destroy� is a physical number with crashing hits and snaking, gurgling bass that is dark and dystopian. last of all comes irwin berg with mono junk as new york city survivors. says the dum boss, �our unreleased track here was made after the new york city survivors � static light cd 2002� and it is a turbo charged track with screwed up grinding bass, icy hi hat rhythms and menace in its grooves.

cloud corridors is the first release of jan philipp longerich alias processed.sunshine and also the debut on his imprint fertile imagination music, which stands for puristic grooves, deep and dreamy vibes and an all in all raw sound that sticks tight to the original idea of a track. inspired by different formations of clouds and their movements, the record takes the lsistener from huge cloud castles in wolkenburg through cloud corridors down into the dark vibe of the fog. minimalistic drum manchine patterns, deep pads, hypnotic sequences and morphing basslines give the record its warm, lively and feral character. the lp was completely created out of live sessions with analog equipment and each track was recorded in one take. - these bouncing analog grooves are made for after hours in the early morning.

tryck & ton is run by edvin e & anton klint. after a couple of amazing edit releases the guys return with the first original work from the newly founded label. conga liver is a percussion driven banger with serious highs and lows. the track gets remix treatment from lisbons finest tiago, who adds a discogroove, horns & an incredibly groovy baseline to the table. final track �on the flip� is a playful groover sounding like robotnik having a loud wine-impregnated argument with tony allen over who to host the afterparty.

it all began with a licensing inquiry for a sister funk cut which we wanted to include on our deep funk comp titled �feeling nice vol. 3�. after the deal was completed producer fred forsh mentioned that the backing band of nadine brown�s masterpiece �leave me alone� had released a 45 themselves under their name teakwood. after mr. forsh played us both sides we knew that this 45 would have to be re-issued. what was about to follow nobody of us ever expected. mr. forsh told us that teakwood recorded almost a dozen of songs which were supposed to be released on a full length album. for unspecified reasons the album was never released and it remained in the can for almost 40 years. finally, we are very proud to announce the release of teakwood�s debut album �a distant star� in early 2017. until then you have to be content with this 45 rpm single re-issue.

for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala�s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo�s first project together debuted on lee�s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski�s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo�s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original�s mood.

after debuting their label with the return of headhunter, the trusik team returns with their second vinyl release from the ever-illusive ruffcut faculty member tremble. tremble has quietly made his presence known with reggae influenced tunes that are simultaneously roughly hewn, yet meticulous detailed in sound design. for trsk002, tremble gives us �too much terror�, which with all the daily attacks on civilians across the nations of the world, seems prescient. what starts out as sound system inspired roller slowly morphs into a technoid fusion of dread sub weight and dub techno chord flourishes. on the flipside, tremble simmers the tempo down to the 130ish range with �bwoy�. dancehall indebted sub detonations output cut vicious shapes while filtered rasta portents gradually build into a technoid climax. two killer sides for the concerning djs! for trsk002, trusik has incorporated artist ben ladieu�s immaculate pen and ink drawing into the overall aesthetic of the release. ladieu�s work is often dense, multi-layered and full of little hidden details that draw comparisons to 80�s diy punk flyers and zeke clough�s contributions to seminal dubstep label skull disco and woe to the septic heart.
