panoram, the elusive mediterranean producer famous for his “everyone is a door” on firecracker and “a doom with a view” on origin peoples, now returns with a long awaited ep for his own wandering eye imprint.
the palette here on “the question” is an illustrative sound collage that leaves its listener adrift through unexplored musical territories. nocturnal atmospheres dimly lit by minimal, detuned melodies are complimented by sensual, synthetic whispers from a parallel dimension. this collection of songs serves as a manifesto to panoram’s mysteriously hypnotic, oftentimes doom-ridden allure.

the name mondo has its roots in mondo movies, an italian movie genre born in the 60s. mondo movies are characterized by documentary-like content that addresses several topics from around the world (mondo). edizioni mondo label has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. edizioni mondo is inspired by library music, a genre frequently used as theme or background music in radio, film and television in that very same period. numero 7 by the trusted in-house band odeon pushed all the typical and beloved mondo buttons. accompanied by version from roman ambient hitmaker panoram (see his album on firecracker for further reference) and label boss l.u.c.a. with one of his quirky dance mixes and the usual great artwork, this deserves a good place on every balearic bookshelf. keep your eyes open for the up and coming odeon album galaxies. good listening!

repress - a vision of panorama cooks up another multicourse balearic banquet. this time hes flexed his generous, soft-centred sonics on mellophonia. each cut a breezy, warm synth odyssey, highlights include the groove-heavy strutter heartbeat (thanks to its loose sloppy bassline and confident synth shots) and the piano-tickling finale mosaic xylos (thanks to its flighty broken drums and arpeggiated insistency). the only thing to be wary of here is the misleading title: there is more than one seaside tune here theyre all primed for the beach. and pretty much any other activity or location you have planned this summer.
