andrew samoyed used to be such a nice young man. when he wasnt wearing lovely jumpers or impressing peoples mothers, he was toying with his synthetic pianos and computer chips to create ambient heartbreakers that could reduce your most unresponsive uncle to a snivelling mess. imagine everyones surprise then, when sometime after the release of his 2007 debut >always from this point<, without warning or reason, the famed samoyed eye-glint started to cloud over.

i was finishing up a long extended set in paris when the cleckcleckboom crew practically ran into the club to get on the decks. i had hung out with them before but tonight they had all new tracks and an incredible energy. so i stayed past the last ravers just to hear what they would play and that was when i heard “hugz” by french fries and bamabounou. this was a new sound, some nasty nasty shit sitting somewhere between juke and bass music and and i knew we had to get this sound on dirtybird no matter what. needles to say “yo vogue” is hot property and i’m really excited to release it on dirtybird. the half time drop, the chopped and screwed vocal, the stuttering bass kicks, the creepy moog on top - it’s simple and complex at the same time and it wrecks shop whenever it gets played. i did a remix on the b side giving it some db flavor and dirtybird newcomer leroy peppers lays out his own bay area skeeze with hot sauce on top. watch yer bass bins! best, vonstroke.

b-tracks debut at the end of last year was a runaway smash, gone in a flash. the come back ep is another deadly round of deep, real dance music from the two new yorkers, schooled in vintage gotham and detroit house and techno, freshly to the manor born — driving, dub-wise, bare-bones, soulful, and melodic, by turns. once again, dont sleep on it.

hissy fit is the brainchild of the moustache mamas, part berlin, part london composed of a us east-coast sensibility and a uk north east sense of humour. its a vehicle to be able to work with the artists and release the music they love, to give something physical (yes all releases will be pressed on vinyl) to the people that spend all that time dancing when the girls are djing. the mamas have then built up a reputation of being grade-a party starters across europe, playing at the rawest of parties, and outshining some of the boys in the boys club. their approach to djing is mirrored in their approach to starting hissy fit, the girls are serious about their music even if the music itself doesnt need to be serious. for its first release hissy fit welcomes aboard leeds based >death on the balcony<. this year they have been cosying up to the likes of soul clap and the wolf and lamb posse, as well as being booked to play all over the damn place causing hissy fits of epic (yet joyous) proportions. the ep contains three originals, and kicks off with >every time< a synth-laced house jammer that brings in the clap & the punch with just the right oomph for the kids on the floor.

when italian alex costa arrived in the world in 1979 he believes he was already addicted to electronic music. inspired by the djs surrounding him in his pr role in the clubs in the early nineties, he made the switch to dj and radio show host. in 2005 he started to produce - zoning in on quality deep house, tribal and tech house and scoring him a series of releases including daddy soon on toolroom records and was great on intacto records. we are happy he is back for some more intacto fuelled action!

when the >a new stereophonic sound spectacular< with singer liesje sardonius was originally released in 1996, hoover ran into a bit of legal trouble with the famous vacuum company and had to change their moniker to hooverphonic.
luckily, it didnt have any effect on their success. music on vinyl is re-issuing >a new stereophonic sound spectacular< on 180 grams audiophile vinyl for the first time since its original release.

arjun vagale and tim richards have never met in person, they are cyber friends like a million of other people in the world. their huge musically respect for each other formed the idea to do some music together and kaiserdisco is very proud to present you the result! with a first listen you can say she said is a typical tech-house tune but when you play it again and again you see it is full of little highlights which makes the song so special and catchy. its a very cool combination of beats, drums and top loops which makes this track so energetic. the remarkable break makes the track so unique and turns the club into an inferno. the second track tonkatsu is a real techno-bomb. a very deep bassline combined with the galloping beats keep this track running and running until it falls intothe break wich makes this track even more ecstatic and brings it up to an amazing primtime-stomper, that lets the crowd go crazy and scream but all in a very cool and undergroundy way.this tune is really outstanding and one of the best tracks in our box for weeks.

joel boychuk aka hobo takes us on a tour of the iron triangle this winter, when the canadian producer releases his debut album on minus - a destination point for the techno artist whose very name embodies both the restless spirit of his productions and his journey from being one half of the former minus duo tractile, to being a recognized star performer in his own right.

ndatl continues with new remixes crafted by label head kai alce of sacrifice, by house music legends robert owens and larry heard. owens and heard have not recorded together in more than a decade after countless classics such as bring down the walls, im strong and mysteries of love. after hearing the track when heard stopped by the ndatl studio, kzr was compelled to remix the song, and was quickly given the green light.

wax classic is a brand new skylax sub – label. for this 3rd release, we give you the opportunity to grab 5 fantastic trax done by housemaster : jason grove.born in detroit, he started his career in the late 80s, dj-ing in underground parties when the techno house movement was just at the beginning. he was invited few times on detroit local stations such as wdrq & wjlb to play. some said he was at that time very close to the >wizard<, helping producing their first tracks with anthony srock as final cut. he had many opportunities during the 90s to release some of his work on various prestigious labels, however, as the guy is really hardcore & straight edge, he prefered to continue producing only with analog gears (dont ever speak to him about a computer or he?ll get mad !) & record his work on cassette only, selling it to indie stores & giving it to friends for some special events (birthday, graduation ect ... !). after the incredible release we had on wax classic 1 (another skylax sub – label), you can grab finally the 2 nd part of those legendary tapes.

the first world unknown 12 inch of 2012 is a double header of throbbing midtempo techno and as with all world unknown releases from now on both tracks have been mastered for vinyl from ½ inch tape for maximum sonic excellence. on side w semtek from dont be afraid joins forces with his afterparty alter-ego chardonnay and a certain rather well known og hipster poet on >tacos for dinner<, an extremely modern and massively psychedelic trip into the outer mind. this clicking, bleeping, fizzing and throbbing ten minute excursion has been road tested from acetate by andy blake for many months and always sends the club somewhere very special and ever so slightly scary. on side u scott fraser delivers >remains the same<. its a notch or two less pacey than side w but no less powerful or psychedelic. its earthy vibe and pounding, throbbing tones have been part of andrew weatheralls sets for some time now and its not hard to see why. when the full percussion finally comes crunching in like a breakbeat on top of the ever-present heavyweight bassline its disco pandemonium time. in short, possibly the best 12 inch so far from wu.

vibe003 remixes ep was born when the magic voice of michael franti, famous american singer, met the club-vibes of these guys.... that had retouched the single >theres enough for all of us<. from the elegant techno of deepchild (trapez, affin), to the deep dry-groove of butane (crosstown, alphahouse, rrygular), we are pushing on the wall by the man-of-the-moment in spain, marcos in dub (goa, highgrade, monofunk)... where funny techno and warm ambient make you dance smiling. this remixes ep is closed by an old-school house remix ofmussen, where the 909 and 808 sound is all you need...

february sure isnt the month to laze around when the new rennbahn baby is chasing for your dance. the crotalus ep starts as if there was a crotalus right behind you! the original mix delivers a powerful basedrum and deep synths. the snake sounds, vocal snippets and the use of reverb and delay build a wide and huge atmosphere which leads us directly out of the reality into the heart of the jungle where youd love nothing better than to stay forever. watch out - you shouldnt stop dancing unless you want to get bitten by a snake! the marco fender remix on the flip side takes us out of the jungle into the club. an impulsive beat highlighted by a sub baseline comes to a nice replaying synth melody. here the vocal snippets are not applied to fulfill the song with a deep atmosphere but to complete the hypnotic rhythm of it. watch out - the snake still follows you at every turn! finally miyagis remix comforts us with safety - marching towards the end, it seems like we got rid of the snake. now we can wholeheartedly lose ourselves in very deep synths, floating hi-hats and a mystical and tempting melody. as if this wasnt enough the outstanding beat wont let you take a break and forces you to keep on dancing

meet bwana. his tunes started racking up plays and conversations commenced with new music buddies xi, submerse and djd. a variety of different 130bpm sounds were toyed with from dubstep, garage, 2 step, 808 dubstep and his very own mashes of r&b-lead garage-step. it all seemed to work. a bunch of labels got in touch and tracks were signed to mad decent and montreal based infinite machine.

piotr bejnar might still look like a freshman on the mos ferry label, but he convinced us with talent, devotion and a fascinating drive when performing his music live on stage. look up his name on youtube and you will know why ... one year after his surprising debut with the digital 3-tracker >janusz ep<, this follow up will also be released on vinyl. for piotr bejnar the >cracow fight< is not only a platform to present himself. he welcomes his friend and producer jackname trouble on board and finishes the 4-tracker with 2 excellent remixes. yapacc and patlac are definitely no unknown entities. the two german producers are highly acclaimed for their own releases and remixed the tracks with great respect to the originals.

when no one is watching ramona, is usually listening to future times records and beautiful swimmers all days. maxmillion dunbar is not only half of those aquanauts, but also running the label and releasing music as max(million) d(unbar). what a guy! hanging out in the vague territory between slow-motion house with a hip hop feeling or dubby and dubious fun music, his melodious approach is extremely hard to categorize but all the more enjoyable. >polo< already saw the light of day on >max trax for world peace<, but ramonas favorite dj ata and live at robert johnson manager oliver hafenbauer were so much in love with the bleepy bonbon that they offered it a place by their fireside. now cautiously modified, fine-tuned and extended for its label home, its a rainforest serenade for beatnik boys and girls, with all the ingredients you want from tha d. the only kid able to thrown down the gauntlet in front of maxi is frankfurts melody man phillip lauer (arto mwambe, brontosaurus, etcetera etcetera). turning >polo< into one of his trademark sluggish bass line barrage tracks with falsetto synths and sharp snares. get your vogue brogue out.

after i heard enol s beautiful track white mango on initial cut, i felt the need to reach out. i had a long and friendly conversation with matthieu (enola) about our musical background and agreed on the fact that we both have a weakness for pop music and early detroit techno, and quickly came to the conclusion that something with a little pop would be perfect for the label. enola came to us with >slow motion< featuring the vocals of will caulfield. its something different for enola, and something different for us, deep techno pop, perfect for 5am! enola is the new project of french dj matthieu monnin, who used to be part of the techno outfit noirdegout. matthieu now works on his own, finding his niche in melodious techno, taking inspiration from the sounds of the nineties. he has done work with the likes of rodriguez jr, anoraak, and arno gonzalez, and now he joins correspondant with >slow motion<. on the flip side, nhar, the other half of correspondant turns the darkness into light with for me, his best remix to date. if the original is for 5am, nhars remix is for 5pm, when the sun still shines and its warmth still remains.

bristolian label think deep do exactly that when they sign new tunes. this latest instalment is a breath of fresh air and paul sg and andy sim really go in on this remix of >infinite mischief< which in its original form is a well engineered slice of liquid solely designed for the dancefloor.

some seriously heavy drumstep monsters here from daniil kormshchikov aka hectix, a talented young producer from nizhny novgorod, in russia – picked up by john b when he was on tour out there earlier this year. he’s already had releases out on labels such as ammunition, artist recordings, talkin beatz & drum orange. overnight starts with an epic trance build up then hits you hard with absolute killer bass and drums and a phat mixdown. love rader has more screechy synths, and even moar heavy drumstep bizniz, both instant rewinds…

token is 5 years old. i never planned to do anything special for this occasion. however, when i received these 2 new tracks from phase, all just fell into place. this release pretty much sums up what token stands for since day one. both tracks are fierce pieces of relentless yet deep techno, in-your-face yet very subtle rhythms, all credited to phases detailed drum programming, keen sense of atmospherics & sound processing.
what else.. except for the fact we flipped the graphic design a bit, we can tell you 2012 is going to be a busy year for token. there is a lot of exciting music floating around we definitely want to share with you soon, not just the usual suspects but also some new signings.

numbernin6 is no new comer to the dubstep scene, but this is his first record for london label smokin sessions. the recordings are blissful and floaty, as you would expect from smokin sessions and really shows off what numnernin6 can do when he goes deep. the whole ep is masterfully produced and you can really hear these tracks have been given a lot of attention. i cant pick a favourite, but all 3 are a great listen. sit back, relax and spark it up rude eye!

obsession is really the programmatic title of tobias olivers work of the last years. two years after his digital winter / summer release in 2009 and the human technology debut with his electro band datawelt, it is really a obsession of him, to bring out his first solo release on vinyl. if you listen to this record, you will be sure, that tobias oliver was born in a electro disco somewhere in this world. the analogy to the old school electro sound can not be ignored, when he reuses the drum and percussion sounds of well known drum machines of the past, combined with bass and synthlines, pads and strings of analog synthesizers from the past and the future - at the latest by then - you will think, that you are really out of space!

techno legends broom & mac with slamming prime time techno

nice price deal !!! exercise one return to their exone label for the end of 2011 with a low slung slice of electronic indie featuring zach van hoozer of the zulu pearls on the title track you ought to know. exercise one and van hoozer first met when the zulu pearls played with them in berlin and impressed with their melancholic pop melodies and minimal arrangements, coupled with zacs distinctive voice and swagger. peter van hoesen delivers a standout remix, working for the first time with a full vocal arrangement. peter is a long-term friend of the duo, first recording on their lan muzic label when he began producing techno again and having released previously on exone this year.
