bryan ferry meets carl craig meets 909 drumtracks produced by an unnamed member of throbbing gristle. chase smith is a studio wizard living in pittsburgh. he shares a studio with shawn rudiman and the boys from pittsburgh track authority. a record so diverse that it makes total sense. vocal sleeze, emotional instrumentals, and a beating drum track for the djs to play with.

nao katafuchi is a new york based japanese artist. living in lower manhattan for more that 20 years, nao has made an internationally interesting mini album lost somewhere between the future and the past. all of the music was made using a semi modern groovebox, guitar, and voice. this musical combination created a new wave cyberpop atmosphere that would not be out of place in a bar in liquid sky, blade runner, or total recall. trashy japanese retro-future pop out of new york city!

shawn osullivan of up and coming new york new wave bands led er est and further reductions, brings us the latest release on wt. the easiest description would be drop bass network meets berghain dub techno meets the new sound of amsterdam with a little bit of acid and industrial sprinkled in, but you should listen to the clips yourself to decide. shawn takes synths, drummachines, a sequencer and some effects and records one take on a stereo track. this leaves room for wild mistakes, personal moments, and blown out sound. its a classic techno sound that sounds like it should have been done before, but hasnt.

nice price deal !!! wt records takes another expected turn by releasing a mini lp of new wave tracks from momentform. the first and most dj-able track, >momentform is fake<, spans the gap between new wave and house with 707 rhythmic patterns and raw, unedited bass lines. >selected works<, arguably the hit song on the lp, with its melancholic vocals and juno arpeggio has a way of finding its way into your brain and staying there. 6 tracks of excellent melodies and melancholy angst make this a great record for listening from start to finish.

the debut ep from mysterious parisian techno duo, kartei, starts off with the renaissance style >lichtgarten<. in its unreleased state, the 15th century style arpeggio and driving beat already turned heads with appearances on some legendary legowelt dj mixes. sure to be a hit. check!
but that is not all, you get more bang for your buck. the record continues on with a modern track reminiscent of >hot on the heels of love<, and the heavy kicked aquatic space styled >transponder<. and that is just the a side. the b side is big room convextion/basic channel style techno and a gentle come down ambient track. fresh, classic sounding techno from france.

wt records keeps them coming with the first release from unknown american producer, jon beall. he wears his influences on his shoulder, however unaware of them he is. this record is for fans of squadra blanco, ross 154, nu groove, and >they live<. incredible 12, check!

more exciting deep house cuts on the new wt records done by will speculator. this time its another new name (well.. sort off.. hunee already did release on feel music as hunch, and is slowly building a reputation as dj) this 12 vinyl release fits well between genres, crossing deep house, disco, and detroit techno. the title track even has some quite jazzy keys. but the killer is probably rare silk which is simply magical. quality release just like the 1st wt records! check!

william (theodore) burnett aka speculator started his own diy record label and came up with this stunning piece of vinyl.. two shit hot tracks on a split release from $tinkworx and kinoeye. what a killer 12! the sharkman brings us a deeep techno track with moody piano lines, drexciyan athmosphere and a shit load of depth. typical $tinky material that seems to go deeper and deeper over 10+ intense minutes. then.. we have the flip side by kinoeye (aka datahata) with a shockingly dirty techno house cut.. a deep dirty groove and repetitive vocals that pull you even deeper then where the a side ended. absolute killer tracks here on this nice obscure new imprint from brooklyn. we love it!!
