the dance is the result of a long lasting musical love affair between kontra-musik s ulf eriksson and sebastian mullaert (aka minilogue). as most love affairs, it started off as an exciting experiment: ulf would play records and sebastian would bring out his music gear and play a live set. as they were touring with this live concept, their sounds started to really integrate, and after one especially fine night at trouw, amsterdam, ulf and sebastian decided it was time to conceive the dance. once the decision was taken, everything else came naturally. the dance was to be recorded live, in one take, at kontra-musik s home field inkonst, malmo, sweden.

up first is gigolo, a spare and weird house cut with sine waves and random claps, hunched drums and trippy synth lines. it s a unique track made in a unique way and will lead to plenty of freaky dance floor moments, for sure. co. art is a whacked out techno cut with slap-funk claps, blistering and blistered synth lines and a rugged bit of bass underlining it all. the track is cavernous and metallic, empty and distant as if it somehow survived a nuclear blast. on the flip, alzheimer is a slow and gurgling, swampy techno number with broken drums and crawling synths that sound like their batteries have run down. icy, watery melodies eventually rain down, but the track remains resolutely eerie. last of all, fabric is another decaying track with subtle, heavily filtered synths and drums all making for a minimal groove that is barely there.

copehagen s music for dreams are very proud to present new swedish signing 55 cancri e (aka sara hausenkamp). born in 1989 in malmö, this talented musician/artist started out learning classical guitar as a child before playing keyboard in different bands in her teenage years/early 20s. in 2013 she moved to berlin and began playing keyboard/guitar/singing in electro duo ‘naftik’. as well as music, she also expresses herself through illustrations, collages, photos, writing, painting, fanzine-making etc. and studied at the school of comic art in malmö.‘55 cancri e’ is hausenkamp s solo project started in the summer of 2014, an amazing six track mini album of perfect night music from outer space, tunes covered in diamonds - a melting pot of sensitive guitars, crying synthesizers, barking flutes, mellow wine glasses, combined with gorgeous organ/melodica and haunting voices. the end result is a beautiful, melancholic and stunning debut drawing comparisons to artists such as this mortal coil and cocteau twins... limited vinyl with stunning original sleeve by the artist - definitely worth investigating.

the anticipated second release from los angeles/seattle imprint slumdiscs comes in the form of a 12 inch from two artists who have each had a prolific year, refining their respective takes on dark electronics. side a features three tracks from italian producer morkebla (where to now?/reckno). he utilizes ethereal synths to create vast, mind expanding soundscapes just as suited for club use as they are for deep meditation. side b is provided by portland artist best available technology (astro:dynamics/working nights). contained within is an experiment in variations and reductions that rewards close listeners with a glimpse into the slow decay of self-contained sonic ecosystems. *go slumming* marks the first full length collaboration between the two artists and showcases the best of their respective styles.

uk techno founders b12 return! the duos history famously started in the early 90s with their music appearing under a plethora of monikers under the b12 records umbrella - 12 inch vinyl with notorious cryptic messages engraved in the run-out grooves, before being collected into album form and release on warp. after a hiatus in the late 90s, the pair resurfaced briefly for some live shows, a flurry of hugely sought-after 12 inches and a 7-part cd anthology. they then abruptly disappeared again - this is their first appearance in 5 years, fittingly on glaswegian imprint soma. (their seminal warp records album was named electro soma...is there a connection?)

with the launch of his white material label in new york 2012, dj richard started releasing a line of the most stunning works by galcher lustwerk, young male, morgan louis and himself. alongside a collaboration with carsten jost for the lawrence -films and windows remixes- the dial records crew deeply fell in love with the works of dj richard and vice versa the request to release his debut album here caused enthusiastic encounter. after his contribution for dial s 15 years compilation and almost two years of production, it is here: dj richard - grind ! a tribute to what contemporary club music and enthusiastic sound experiments should be about: exaltation and addiction. this is what dj richard s club sets feel like- an incredible sound seduction, another dimension- grind might be the essence of it all.
