after 2 long years, michal wolski is back with his second release for international day off. from what we can hear, we re definitely sure that at least half of this time he wasn t leaving his studio. the music just sounds big, 4 fat tracks, including remix from gathaspar, is a heavy based techno stream, making every cardiovascular system pumping more blood. thanks to the fact that michal apart from production was responsible for mastering, we guarantee that this ep will generate the appropriate sound pressure from every speaker so be careful with the volume knob!
musician, journalist, radio host. in his works he is looking for a balance between the corporeal and the contemplative aspects of music. sound induced by him can be described as something between techno, deep techno and dub techno, under a deep impact of broadly although not always explicitly understood ambient.
monday off is a new, vinyl only imprint from brooklyn founded by mary yuzovskaya. its ethos is to showcase artists from around the world that explore techno’s hypnotic side, specifically where trippy and dark productions go deep yet dynamic. the label’s inaugural release consists of two spellbinding original tracks from new jersey-based producer chanski, and includes a dance floor burning remix from one of warsaw’s premiere rising artists, michal wolski. each of these three tracks were crafted to mesmerise listeners via their subtle flow, but are powerful and propulsive enough to make them dance!

side a: indochina, people, nature, instruments - this is -my trips-. it s a story about far places and smiley people. the other 3 positions on the release are booked for -musical gili- - hindu temples and incenses which let us to zone out. the second track on the side a is an atmospheric remix from jacek sienkiewicz s hands, the owner of recognition and one of the oldest cocoon recordings players. on the side b we find -musical gili- in original version and michael wolski s remix with a strong technical accent at the end. wolski is our man from international day off and technosoul.
dryad lands on southern lights with the 2s2w ep, the debut release from the adelaide-based producer, showcasing booming rhythms, tough drum patterns and provocative sounds with the tracks “inside now” and “pressure”.
remixes come courtesy of annulled user who thoroughly reworks “inside now” into an epic apex and michal wolski, whose rework of “pressure” is a brooding, reflective affair.
michal wolski returns to blank slate to deliver another ep. blank slate 011 is a continuation of wolskis signature dubby minimalist strain of techno. the warsaw veterans ability to summon thick hypnotic ambience makes his compositions instantly recognisable. wolskis patience and subtlety summons a nuanced version of power.
the eight single release on marco shuttles eeries delivers michal wolskis unthinkable otherwiseness ep which contains three deep, abstract, misterious compositions where wolski is seeking for the balance between subtle and more raw energy. each track is a meditative, drone-like trip into an area where there are more questions than answers. classic 808 drum set meets futuristic hazy drones, pads and deep bass lines. dance or/and contemplate!
micha wolski is a polish musician, music journalist, radio dj and tireless promoter of dub techno aesthetics. eight extended compositions on his new record la mer (sea) recall those special moments when sound becomes a movement of a kinetic sculpture, an abstract painting, or a cinematic report from the arctic solitude. personal and introvert, yet simultaneously carrying certain universal message (cosmic loneliness? molecular life?), sound space created by wolski manages to seduce listener and inhale her/him for whole 75 minutes
the vision of techno is presented by seven producers from electronic music scene of poland. the well-known artists - blazej malinowski i michał,,, wolski, who work intensivly over new productions, promote polish scene abroad with liveacts ans dj sets, are resposible for radio broadcasts on which they bring valuable information in relation to electronic music to the listeners. isnt, a very well know female dj and promotor, who has recently started producing hypnotic techno productions. less known, and deeply dark, developing project - the obkt, which is the result of the cooperation of two well-known dark techno producers milena kriegs and eastern renaissance. together with them on the compilation, the lesser-known producers are completing and emphasizing the character of the compilation, nternal bserver (read: internal observer), who has already released several ep’s, and who focuses on playing varied and heavier sound during liveacts. trnah, a female producer with a lot of experience on musical collaborations, who shows with her charming song, that a techno album containing more powerful and hypnotic sound can also be filled with nostalgia and exceptionally captivating sadness.
michal wolski wastes no time with derivate, his first appeance on vinyl. clipped percussions arc and swoop around a throbbing 909 kick as a grinding bass and ragged open hats begin their dark business. crystalline lead synths raise the tension and climax with a brutal filtered clap and jarring percussion.
