although he keeps his head just under the radar, jon cutler is not exactly against producing really big club tracks when he puts his mind to it. south slope sees him channel his energies into the kind of show stopping tracks that the likes of kerri chandler, dennis ferrer and quentin harris are famed for, but with a deft jazzy touch which they often ignore. the ibadan style groove is bedded in with a wonderful organ solo that serves to take the tune to the next level, while the dub mix drops the organ for a more shelter friendly tool

guber releases his first ep on paris based label beat x changers at the intersection of ambiant and mental uk bass music. the whole project is held by alternation of slope / release of sub-frequency and obsessional loop that dye each tracks. anisotropic expression is a first work that could be seen here as an draft representation of the behavior of surrounding matter. non musical influences therefore are brought here by the the study of properties of materials expressed in a musical statement. raw obsessional patterns, evolving and rolling out over the headroom could be seen as the emulation of many deformation models. shaping of stereo and arrangement have been handled with the help of the sound engineer & producer x_1 leading to home or club-listening experience as well. guber is been into music by listening & playing some music of the 70 s and trash-metal that drove him straight to uk bass music. since there he is only focusing on spontaneous creation showing faithfull perception of thoughts, leading to a higher level of singularity.

roman producer (and a force behind minimalrome label) valerio lombardozzi known as heinrich dressel returns to barba with a second release for our label, titled -the styx swamp-. heinrich has a unique way of combining classic techno and electro sounds with elements from the beloved drexcyan universe and john carpenter leitmotifs, and making them come together in a manner that both moves your body and pushes your mind beyond the point of awareness. as with the previous record, -lurking underwater-, here he pulls off the move with the same efficiency and without sounding like he s repeating himself. -gray slope-, -sailing the nether waterways- and -the styx swamp- are all quite moody and deep, rich with sound and thick with vibe. however, the tracks feel equally at home in 4 am techno situation and a heady afterhours affair. he truly is a master of crafting hybrids whose influences get so flawlessly embedded that it s hard to point them out. if that s not enough, -the styx swamp- got a treatment by nigel rogers aka perseus traxx, a multi-faceted producer and a mighty live act performer. nigel stayed respectful to the original but made the original s bouncy groove into something more direct and reduced, while retaining the same feel conditioned by lead synth s hypnotic quality. we re known to give a little bit of extra love to our releases so (as all before) this one s pressed onto a heavy duty 180 gram vinyl and beautifully packaged in an original artwork by emaemaema.

hoel’s contribution to this disorientating piece of engineered sound sculpture, is imagined as a schizo-paranoid state of delirium. voices whisper over evolving modular phases of heavy, distorted nothingness. it is a full theatrical construction featuring a haunted choir conducted to sing in the producer’s own unique voice.
the second side features two tracks by label debutant simon marchesini. subtle, brooding almost-there beats reach from underneath, intertwining themselves with a rich sound carpet of complex poly-rythms and twisting vortex-like pads. marchesini seeks to push sound to the very limits of the spectrum.

channeling the energy echoing off dancefloors along his path, reinier zonneveld has been on a steady slope rolling out dance igniting productions while touring an intricate live set. megacity servant, the artist’s third studio effort, stands as a coherent 16-piece techno outfit tinged with experimental tones while playfully deconstructing classic acid and disco fragments. coming from a classical music background, reiniers style of production ranges from cavernous powertracks to more concise trips subdued with melancholic piano-stemmed soundscapes, rounding up to a signature sound that is evident as it is enveloping. techno mainstay vocalist cari golden makes a notable appearance on things we might have said. having previously teamed up with sonorous names like pan pot, fur coat & coyu, goldens stellar vocals and skillful lyrics shine paired with zonneveld’s production prowess. the production-vox chemistry is instant, as the track mesmerizes from the get go. seizing attention for the full length of the track, the entire arrangement seduces the listener, making for a clamorous earworm. eht unveils a heavy-hitting resolution, as the artist layers on hefty polarizing synths. the cut boasts a powerful arrangement that is unsettling and playful at the same time, diving into dark techno realms. megacity servant makes use of the classic roland sh-101s ability to emit a nearly tridimensional sound ray, unfolding newer details with each listen. the relentless melody, padded with grave synth arrays, establishes a melancholic mood, gradually depicting the auditive struggle of its title-named character.

midgar welcomes the bordeaux based von grall delivering four dense, immersive cuts. first of the list, *a secant line*, is an acidic and powerful mantra, opening the gates of sonic virtuality. in the second track, *the slope*, fast paced rhythmics and cold ambiances bring some severity to the record. on the bside, the melodic and slightly dreamy excursion *apply the definition*, while *limit value* close the record with a solemn concoction of offbeats drums and mechanic nightbirds.

“prÉvision #02” is the second compilation and third vinyl of forecast label, french record label originated in 2012. it gathers six house, electronica and techno tracks in varied styles for various artists. the original idea was to make artists exchanges ideas together to create tracks that would exactly define each one’s identity. while cheaper shepherd’s “weasels” show again their shiny and catchy vintage house, romain play explores several music genders through a train trip across jazz, psychedelic rock and house. the new comer roman s releases his first track ever, showing his talent for groove and minimal house. on the b-side, d°c, breilitz and sir squi explore three kinds of techno. first track of this side, “erebus” shows a kompakt-like new wave but club-oriented techno. “raw interference” could without any doubt be played at berghain. last track, “(crashed)” is on the psychedelic slope of techno. it uses a sitar, to ends the compilation on a shinier note.

the box contains 7 x 12 inch vinyls, is sealed in plastic and features 28 fresh tunes by 28 artists. a download card for all digital files + 4 mord logo stickers are included in the package.
