Hoel’s contribution to this disorientating piece of engineered sound sculpture, is imagined as a schizo-paranoid state of delirium. Voices whisper over evolving modular phases of heavy, distorted nothingness. It is a full theatrical construction featuring a haunted choir conducted to sing in the producer’s own unique voice. The second side features two tracks by label debutant Simon Marchesini. Subtle, brooding almost-there beats reach from underneath, intertwining themselves with a rich sound carpet of complex poly-rythms and twisting vortex-like pads. Marchesini seeks to push sound to the very limits of the spectrum.
