we welcome ed longo and his studio project the applied arts ensemble debut on early sounds with the other fantasy, the result of many recording sessions that took place in different places around europe. conceived with a strong jazz-funk, fusion and boogie sound it has been conceptualized around the idea that the schizophrenia of the internet-age, the visions of otherness (the undiscovered lands, the primitive happiness, the impossible love) permeate the collective consciousness and the idealized other loses any correspondence with the physical world.

with »redsuperstructure«, robert lippok created a new foundation for his musical endeavors. now – 7 years later – this system properly comes to life on »applied autonomy«. the title of the new album is a clear indicator as to what the berlin-based producer has been up to during the last couple of years, both on a conceptual level as well as how he molds his ideas into tracks. »applied autonomy« orchestrates a certain state of frantic standstill, which occurs once a structure is set. has this state been reached, the artist is free to focus on other equally important aspects, balancing the various shades, pushing ideas even further to really make them shine and blossom in their self-declared autonomy. the more light one lets in, the more layers become visible. layers are key when it comes to understanding »applied autonomy«. big chunks of the material with which the album has been produced derive from sketches specifically made for a club performance. rather than meticulously devising each and every detail, lippok focussed instead on recording as many fragments as possible in a short period of time, elements which he could later combine and layer on stage. based on this material and his experience experimenting with it in a live environment, the album slowly began to shape. an album culminating in a collaboration with klara lewis, with whom lippok spent 2 days at the ems studios in stockholm, approaching the idea of autonomy from yet another angle. during the session, both musicians played and performed simultaneously, yet not explicitly together, lost in their own thoughts and ideas, only subconsciously taking in what the other one was coming up with. the result is »samtal«, 14 minutes of a constantly evolving state of poise, magically connecting all the dots lippok had already defined as »applied autonomy«. the artwork for »applied autonomy« has been created by the berlin-based argentinian artist luca gutierrez. over the last couple of years, he has made a name for himself with his spectacular av performances.

soul, funk, disco classiques that were played in chicago discos from the 70s on, with the glenn underground magic touch applied to harold melvins hang on in there, peoples choice hey everybody, the brothers were you ready for that, & wee gee have all the fun. hand stamped!

new glasgow electro and techno label tremors presents our first vinyl release - aftershocks volume 1, a collection of remixes of tracks from our bandcamp releases. the a1 comes from electro legend dexter, a man who needs no introduction, remixing old boy s tracer. next up is james shinra (analogical force) one of our favourite contemporary electro artists, remixing arctor memory gene. on the b-side we have patrick walker (forward strategy group) remixing arctor s selfish lover into a slamming acid techno banger. rounding it off is relatively unknown hungarian producer david harleydson who has been self-releasing highly impressive electro albums through bandcamp. he has applied his own unique style in a remix of arctor the gulf.

the tenth release on miles sagnia s aer, marking the tenth year since the labels inception. this time round, a more hypnotic dancefloor sound encapsulates the artists mindset. with previous releases on applied rhythmic technology (art), aesthetic audio, ornate music, common dreams, amongst others.together we glide into the pacier textures, where moments of intensity meet serenity.

things take a psychedelic turn for schleiben 7 with a welcome to the label of arch exponents of mind expansion in nycs georgia and the unlikely but no less diverse inclusion of balearic stalwarts a man called adam.

rather than rely on their usual full band, live performance, one-room live single recording session, the making of ‘dragonz’ was a departure for the apples. a multi-studio project spanning three continents, they assembled new instrumental tracks based on loops created in the studio and presented them to a wide-ranging selection of vocal collaborators to complete the picture with, and applied this method to the capturing of longstanding live favourites as well. the concept of a “vocal album” was implemented on non-vocalist songs as well, treating the omnipresent turntables’ sample work not as the central element to the band, but rather its frontman. though containing disparate influences, guests and production methods, ‘dragonz’ is undeniably apples, might be their most focused lp to date, and it is certainly their most middle-eastern. elements of the region’s indigenous genres have always been present in the band’s work, but never has their influence been as pronounced.

for its third release, sensoramic turns to new york minimalist and renowned modular artist, kamran sadeghi. fresh from releasing on key techno imprints meander, brouqade, fasten musique and cocoon, he finishes a strong year with an exceptional three tracker. lead track undone suspends time for a twelve minute lesson in modular hypnotism, twisting its way through various chapters and subtle, naggingly hooky melodic passages with the interlude of a deftly placed riser. sentient takes an alien vocodor style sound through a tense peak time work out while not here runs a dense droning pad through a gamut of minimally applied drums and modular noises.

uk techno veteran kirk degiorgio takes on the future/past guise once more for an exquisite 4 tracker on the belgian de:tuned label. kirk struck gold during a recent dig through some of his old dat tapes and unearthed 2 previously unreleased gems: a finished version of his widely acclaimed 90s classic “hyperspace” described by kirk as the real hyperspace and “cosmos”, a rough uptempo percussive workout, proper crunch future/past sound.
the dat tapes also revealed a couple of tracks that were only ever released on cd: “try 2004 funk mix 2” (from the historic 1993 “applied rhythmic technology” compilation) and “locator” (from the sublime “objets d’art 92-95” compilation). the cds have become rare and wanted items, and so kirk and de:tuned decided to finally press these tracks on wax.
all tracks were mastered straight off the original dat tapes by matt colton to guarantee that extra crisp sound quality. this release will be available on 180 gr vinyl.

code 718 aka iconic nyc dj danny tenaglia dropped this e2-e4 riffing classic back in the mists of 1992. manuel göttsching s original track would have been a staple of nyc clubs back then and would have featured in the warm up sets of jocks like tenaglia who favoured the longer, deeper sets as well as on the play-lists of institutional night-spots such as the loft and the garage. the track s influence on a whole era of dj s and producers that followed is immeasurable and across 3 sublime mixes tenaglia distills the magic of the original into something totally nyc and club-friendly without losing any of the göttsching magic, even managing to sprinkle a little grace jones in the mix with her fabulous i floated on a cloud vocal sample liberally applied. equinox takes us on a trip that is emotive, uplifting and warm. this is how house music is meant to sound, respectfully steeped in what preceded it yet moving forward in a fresh direction. another example of how on the money strictly rhythm were in their early days, classic after classic rolled out of the labels offices and us, the record buying legions, were / are better off for it! this one s a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 3 mixes, unedited, as per the original release way back when. do not sleep.

the second chapter in petit singe’s travel through akash ganga comes in the form of four remixes curated by members and friends of the haunter records extended family. they all applied their peculiar agencies and experience to the original recordings. danse noire boss and spiritual explorer aïsha devi combined elements from all the tracks of the album with her own production to assemble “necromedia”, a powerful take on the sidereal source material. haunter veteran weightausend delivers a psycho-dub version of the frantic “oxo”, while zuli (of vent and uiq fame) deconstructs the same track turning into a kind of post-human and post-colonial beat he labeled “astrogangsta”. the final track is an alteration of the album’s finale “27.09.87” by canadian experimenter jesse osborne-lanthier, who let it mutate like a self-sufficent biodigital organism, opening it up for new experiences.

2lp vinyl printed gatefold, includes cd! cd edition and cd included in the 2xlp feature the same tracks in the same order. this is a clear perspective on comelade’s musical universe and can be considered as an ultimate “best of” and a radical introduction tothis chaotic and uncompromising instrumental music. rocanrolorama abrégé (-abbreviated rockandrolorama-, in english) is the short version of the complete works and reworks of pascal comelade published at the end of 2016 as a 6-cd box set in a sold-out limited edition of 1000 numbered and signed copies. pascal comelade made this album as if it was a new and separate album, with tracks that he considers best represent his work, from 1993 to 2016, according to the principle applied with the rocanrolorama box set: songs in their original form, alternative versions, reworks, additions… this short version was conceived especially for a double vinyl lp format: four sides with six tracks each, which you can listen to in the right order, from start to finish, according to a logical, thought-out progression for each side (slow tempo, medium tempo, orchestrations, electricity, etc.)

too many possibilities can also mean a tyranny of the what if.... in this light, celebrating less becomes vital. and thats exactly what swedish producer and studio barnhus affiliate simon haydo does in redux. all of the sounds in the albums nine tracks come from just one synth: the korg ms20. as simon puts it, the idea was to maximize the use of less, basically. less gear, less effects, less input from other people , less everything.using only between 2 and 6 channels for every track, the result is a stripped but surprisingly rich sound, that delineates spatial techno vignettes coated with the unmistakable charac- ter of the ms20 filters. even more interestingly, this restraint is not only applied gear-wise, but also from an emotional point of view. instead of involving my own feelings, i let the voice of the ms20 take care of it, says simon. all this makes redux an expression of techno in its purest form. after all, its a kind of music that has always gravitated around simplicity, austerity and, of course, the believe that the machines have their own soul.

lucas koprowski aka his dirty secrets was born and raised in poland, today he resides in beautiful key west, florida. lucas began his career in music whilst attending the music academy in poland, graduating with his masters in classic violin. constantly searching for new techniques to expand his musical repertoire, he began taking recording studio classes, mastering software and analog instruments. eventually he designed the sounds that he later applied to his music, first, with hip-hop, then with nu-disco, which gave the original artists more recognition and independence. winning the competition for the best mix in south florida gave him a chance to play a set in one of the best underground clubs in america, the electric pickle. in 2016, he published his first ep, a compilation of his disco edits and house music with midnight riot in london. the single ended up in at #1 for several weeks on the juno disco charts and gave him the opportunity to release the vinyl with another uk label, masterworks, positively reviewed in mixmag magazine and more.

for this second release, the hedzup crew invite the hot and prolific producer carlos sanchez in collab with wlad and damien badey for an hypnotic groove named strong. two solid remixes on this release - politics of dancing pushed the track to a higher level of efficiency and john jastszebski applied his raw techno touch. as an extra tool, the 2 heads thinking from hedzup, wlad and mancini for their first collab created an aerian and groovy track -12th-.

we welcome miles atmospheric onto the common dreams roster with two very special tracks: heal and plight. he is founder of the label atmospheric existence and is previously known as miles sagnia. you can also find him on aesthetic audio, ornate, inner shift music, and applied rhythm technology. his music keeps the raw edge of early uk electronic music, merged with his own sound that is often described as futuristic, lush and deep.
heal is the harder and darker of the two. starting with a steady, monotone baseline and solid kick, we are soon immersed into a mind elevating arpeggiation and floating chords that take it to another level.
plight is the more emotional of the two. it’s a mixture of raw frustration with a splash of passion and love. lush pads rain down from above, while we again feel that deep, dark undertone pushing through.

after a run of releases including music from rex club residents d julz and phil weeks, and a beautiful atlantic breakaway with fred p, rex club music brings in the boss of poker flat recordings, the maestro himself, steve bug. a gentleman and a scholar who has been a key figure of the techno scene since its very early days, steve bug is also the mastermind behind a prolific and in demand label. he is a man who is always on point, looking to the future, maintaining the present and drawing on the past to operate in that magical intersection between the different eras of time.indulge in this short course of rexology for proof of his mastery, which is expertly applied with this polished new ep.first up we have ‘what’s happened’, a track that occupies the space between tech house, acid and dub. get ready for some hard stepping on the dance floor when this track is unleashed. then rod goes in hard with two remixes of ‘what’s happened’, upping the ante, increasing the tempo and urgency to create an air of emergency. with ‘remix one’ rod has us on high alert, while ‘remix two’ focuses a little more on the groove and catchy analogue flashes. on the flip we have a night of ‘berlinian rexing’, with its time-lapse atmosphere allowing us to teleport between berlin and paris in a cacophony of whirring synths and uplifting stabs. the track plays on timelessness, creating classic tropes and creating the kind of atmosphere that underpins all of the most unforgettable nights.
