we have been waiting for pele to crop up on a release from the footy mad rothmans and what a time to play that hand card. teaming up once more with his aussie team mate dawn again and a first apperance from leeds legends clandestino. the first track from the ep cobblejam is nothing short of first class, a worthy italo, chuggy, powerhouse that leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination. the b-side finds us with the slightly strangely named woman for a day theres nothing strange about the track itself though. a deep and dark track that slowly drives forward into the abyss. finishing off the record is an excellent remix from the lads over at clandestino. their dessert trance vibe brings the record together as sweetly as pele brought together that 1970 world cup winning team.

with two massive reissues from suns of arqa and jaki whitren under their belts, the fledging label emotional rescue have come up with the goods once again, with this remastered reissue of incredibly rare 70s psyche-funk from bob chance. two versions are included: the original 7 inch version, driven along by a razor-sharp guitar riff and sweetly lamenting lyrics, topped off with weird cosmic synths and galloping rhythm. however, the real gem is the edit entitled >wild its broken< which sharpens the focus of the guitar and adds some serious kick to the drums to create a beefy counterpart to the new age original.

* back with the heat, chicago native dj jana rush kicks off objects limitedÕs 2017 with her debut album ÔpariahÕ. jana rush received attention for her mind-bending drum acrobatics on last year s Ômpc 7635Õ ep also released by objects ltd. jana started djing aged just 13, releasing her first record on dance mania back in 1996 but having a hiatus from music between 2000 to 2013. with ÔpariahÕ she has created an album rooted in chicago s footwork sound, but with a myriad of influences, such as jungle, acid, soul, jazz and house, developing her sound on from Ômpc 7635Õ. * we kick off with Ômidline shiftÕ whose breathy, clipped erotic vocals intertwine with a pulsing bass and dry 808 rims creating a shimmering robotic effect. moving on, the frantic Ôbeat mazeÕ confuses the mind with white noise rushes and interlocking snares. changing the scene, ÔdivineÕ is sweetly soporific and charming, a beautiful, almost eerie track. the pace picks right back up with Ô??? ??Õ, whose warbling jazz clarinets cut into a juke bounce. the stripped back beats of Ôbreak itÕ give one room to breathe before the croaking bass and distorted acid of Ôno fuks givenÕ. Ôchill modeÕ gives time for reflection after all that fire, but its no ambient track, theres still that chi-town vibe. we finish with Ôfrenetic snareÕ whose amen breaks will have brits thinking of jungle, but it s a different beast altogether
