yore returns after with the first appearance on the label by the edinburgh-based outfit 2deepsoul, which counts brad peterson and rai scott as its members. the two bring a wealth of experience to the project: petersons been djing since the early 90s and since 1997 has appeared on labels such as macintosh music, moods and grooves, and his own innershift imprint.

principal records return for their third outing with another superb ep from s & m featuring dnae! s&m is the collaborative guise of danimal swainger aka daniel swain and thatmanmonkz aka scott moncrieff, the duo launched principal records with their *in my mind* ep in 2013. here we see them return to the imprint to deliver more of their gritty house sound, again employing the vocal stylings of jamaican born vocalist dnae.

corbu are an electronic, indie-rock band from brooklyn, new york spearheaded by producer and multi-instrumentalist jonathan graves. corbu are jonathan, todd hoellerman (drums, keys), amanda scott (synths, percussion), julian ferraldo (guitar, keys) and brian murphy (bass, keys). named after french architect le corbusier, the band has a strong creative aesthetic. graves writes the music from visual ideas, which he translates into sound. corbu songs are often heard partially or entirely in dreams, and are influenced by films, physical spaces and a childhood love of nature and science fiction. and it works. corbus music is beautifully crafted, taking the listener on a journey from day to night, through exhilarating sunsoaked sonic landscapes to land softly on the surface of the moon. jonathan began singing and playing different instruments at age nine, and eventually fell in love with samplers and their ability to bend conventional sounds into something abstract and new.

for nearly a decade, tycho has been known as the musical alias of scott hansen, but with the release of awake – his second lp for ghostly international – the solo project has evolved into a three-piece band. relating closer to post-rock than ambient soundscapes, the record is situated in the present, sounding more like hansen than drawing from his influences. this is, in many ways, the first true tycho record.
