first track poise i is a deep and dubbed out techno track with deft synths slowly shapeshifting and bringing sombreness to the quickened groove. it�s late night music to zone you out with sparse but rich detailing to keep your mind occupied and it gets ever-busier over the course of thirteen enthralling minutes. then poise ii is a 16 minute masterpiece that is watery and dubby. it has undulating synth currents and increasingly textured snares. building to a peak then pulling back, with occasional freaky vocal sounds and sci-fi motifs, it is a truly cinematic piece that closes out an ambitious ep.

(180 g vinyl) there is something wonderfully uplifting and naive about the mittle european b-movie pop and library music of the 1970s. an imperfect perfection of sound palette and melody, creating & encapsulating a whole world of hypnotic intrigue.this feeling is what comes to mind when listening to the debut album of californian scott gilmore, which is reminiscent (in more modern times) of the pre moon safari air.

amsterdam producers and good friends kaap and scott franka have come together to start a new label and live act: working titles. kaap is best known as the label boss of tape cassette label yield, scott just debuted with his first 12� on quartet series. together they perform primarily hardware based live sessions. for their label they improvise, jam and record to press these takes only on vinyl. the idea is to capture the real, raw and authentic improvised moments as soon as possible after they happen, hence the name working titles. this first vinyl release features the wt001 and wt002 outtakes on one disc. these sessions were recorded by the pair in an abandoned cabin in the woods in the south of holland, surrounded by nature.

1962 was the year raymond scott composed and recorded portofino in many different arrangements. however, no recordings were released until basta did include two versions on manhattan research, inc. movlp1855 the track became one of scott�s most popular electronic compositions.

marcel vogel s lumberjacks in hell label shows no signs of slowing as it ramps up a killer new salvo from debutant artist c scott. -climb on- is an uptempo workout to capture the absolute peak of the party in the funkiest of ways, while -hands free- provides an apt alternative with its slow, organ-led whimsy. disco remains the backbone of the sound here, whatever tempo the track rolls at and wherever it may head. -stuttering- demonstrates this perfectly with its heavily treated, head-spinning fx still capturing that classic good-time mood, while -at ease- finishes on a life-affirming canter of rhodes led celebration.

san fran-based artist, tape_hiss releases his second ep on love notes and you can clearly hear both his sound and the label s maturing in tandem. moving on from the depth of his first record, love is a dog from hell, tape_hiss takes things into headier waters, going heavy on the acid and the rugged basslines on this 4 track ep. angelian war storm begins in exactly that fashion, with 303s squelching and bassbins rattling. this continues through the clear standout trackout, the vivian girls. the gears shift a bit on the b1 where sistrum boss, patrice scott is allowed to rework the vivian girls and does so in a warbly, dirty jazz fashion. tape_hiss then closes things out with the title track, realms of the unreal, which uses an appropriate sample annoucing, �this is me, yo. right here�, and it does very much sound to us like this budding artist is annoucing himself to the world in a most proper fashion. we can�t wait to hear what comes next from both artist and label.
