crimes of the future head to the other side of the world their first release from australia. paradise box is responsible for the killer reel nitty gritty on greece s highy repected echovolt records back in 2014 and in 2017 he joins the crimes of the future family with the hookup ep. two original cuts of fine and upliftying deep and tropical house music are joined by two very special cover versions like you have never heard before. an incredible ep working equaly as well in the club or on a sun kissed beach bar.
beneath the still waters of lonely sound there lays the ruins of howland abbey, its 3000lb bell still hanging in the belfry, only swayed by the currents of the regular tides across the estuary, over 100 years since it was rang by the order of carthusian monks who lived in the nearby priory. at the turn of the last century during a heavy storm the abbey was plundered by an unknown gang of marauders, as they left on horseback carrying with them all the gold from the abbey the sea defences around lonely sound were breached, flooding the abbey, priory and the surrounding land, the monks ran for dry land as they watched their beloved bell tower disappear beneath the rising waters, unable to chase the thieves, cut off as the water rose around them. some locals say these ransackers were in league with the elements, some say they had just intentionally damaged the sea defences before making their raid. local folk-law claims that the morning bells of the abbey can be heard ring out from beneath the murky waters of the sound every year on the anniversary of the great storm, ringing the peel that was never rung.
betonkust has been spotted lurking in the realm of seedy late night body music alongside artists such as palmbomen ii, landing his noirish wares on 1080p, pinkman and most notably dekmantel. now he makes the logical leap to crimes of the future alongside equally accomplished belgian producer innershades, previously spotted on wicked bass, creme organization, hot haus and many more besides. the sound on forever in boccaccio is totally fitting for crimes of the future, all muscular drum machines beats and analogue synth lines angled to send a shiver down your spine. watch out for the unexpected rave hit of -jambers at carat afterclub- which comes on strong with some fist-shaking peak time euro techno motifs.
crimes of the future is the kind of label you can trust, no matter who is at the controls. the same could be said for giallo disco, and certainly the two labels orbit a similar space for lurid soundtrack-inspired hardware jams from the italo age. vercetti technicolor is one half of the giallo team alongside antoni maiovvi, and here steps out with a perfectly bombastic range of compositions that revel in b-movie brilliance. -golden taurus- is the perfect slow-burner, those mono bass notes warming like no soft synth ever could, while -topaz fear- brings a more action-driven sequence into the mix. -death wish- too opts for a pumped up club scenario, while heinrich dressel smokes out -golden taurus- into a seedy slow-jam.
exclusive 7inch single in conjunction with mount alalog los angeles presenting crimes of the future label bosses scott fraser and timothy j. fairplay with 2 exclusive cuts of leftfield house and electro psychedelia, very limited copies!
tapan are from belgrade, hosts to disco not disco and now delivering two slow psychedelic techno bomb s to crimes of the future s letterbox. we first met nebjosa and the crew when we played at drug store in belgrade for them in early 2014. upon receiving these we knew they had crimes written all over them. on volumes we have two very special remixes of an already heavy original starting with willie burns taking them into the streets of manchester in the early 90 s and spending a night on at the hacienda with no thought of the gentrification approaching. drvcvltvre is the second provider and in true style switches out the lights and a spectre looms over the dancefloor dripping acid on the dancers below. the ep closes with whos there? featuring the brain melting guitars of vladimir djordjevic. quite a debut we think.
crimes of the future are proud to present the first recorings from bulb. bulb are willie burns, scott fraser and timothy j. faiplay two live jams recorded in new york in the spring of 2014. side a combines gehtto techno breaks with something from wayward kosmiche studio experiments in deepest germany. on side two dark ambient synthesis and stabbing drums combine to drop you somewhere in a world of psychedelia and cavernous cave dwellings.
haunted doorbell are timothy j. fairplay and matilda tristram who released xylophone together last year on astro lab recordings. picking up where xylophone left off unconnected thoughts on jacking is four tracks of naive melodies, rough slamjack drums, and new age atmospheres. starclash kicks off side a, with its dramatic arpeggios and sid chip crashes, techno to soundtrack the saturday night laser show at the planetarium. following is a night of adventure with its eastern scales and washy broken chorus unit hiss. on side b we have beautiful sheffield - an ode to electronic musics (possibly) most important british city and the title track rounds of the ep - house music for listening to while looking out to sea.
we are pleased to announce the release of dr burisch by perseus trax on crimes of the future. after releases on bunker, mos & chiwax (to name a few), the ep is a four track soundtrack to some forgotten alien abduction documentary... maybe. starting off with rainy tuesday and its skipping pitch shift melodies, and followed by lotus protocol and its almost richard d. hook. on the flip we have the title track, slow and building, very much the theme of the piece. the ep finishes with electrical surge, and its static crackle of radio interference and damaged power lines.
antoni maiovvi joins the crimes family in a perfect match of italo horror running out of the disco, leaving behind the gentle thud of dark techno in a dark roman alleyway.... junior fairplay s inaguaral remix takes us out of the darkness to a happy ending in sunnier climbs on a beach somehere in portofino...
for crimes of the future number 3 we present the ubiquitous black merlin, trevor horn heads to berghain at 3am friday and stays til monday.completing the release timothy j. fiarplay and scott fraser remix together for the first time in the adrian tripod mode, taking amazing exotics back deep into early 1990 s new york and kicking it out bonesbreaks style.
