edna wright’s idiosyncratic “oops!” is one of the most sublime vocal refrains in soul music history. anchoring its host album’s leadoff cut, it sets the tone for a uniquely satisfying modern soul lp. indeed, whilst many of its ilk come laden with filler, wright’s one solo record is an exercise in elegant restraint, a concise killer. officially licensed and beautifully remastered for vinyl by celebrated engineer simon francis, it has been pressed on audiophile 180g vinyl for the first time and features the original iconic artwork. each copy includes a printed inner sleeve with a sumptuous black & white photo, full lyrics and heartfelt notes from edna herself.

zefzeed was chosen to be the first artist to release at arria, certifying his multi-dimensional artistic vision. porto deporta takes over side a with a deep bass motif propelling forward – everything clicks into place, making this piece a high definition 3d madness. soy sausage continues the journey with a stylish swagger and an irresistible groove, dotted with a chamber of indecipherable voice delays, while bright synths float across the driving beat. side b is spinning koo, a track that combines functionality with musical playfulness, tumbling percussion and clouds of textures, while drawing on the kinetic energy. though his tunes are aimed squarely at clubs, they’re detailed, spacious and hypnotic too, a rare blend that make arria-001 a slick dancefloor machine.
rora is back! romar and janeret team up to deliver outerspace ep, the label s second release this year and 13th issue. we hope you ll enjoy the trip! vinyl only and 180g. vinyl only and 180g.
cloud corridors is the first release of jan philipp longerich alias processed.sunshine and also the debut on his imprint fertile imagination music, which stands for puristic grooves, deep and dreamy vibes and an all in all raw sound that sticks tight to the original idea of a track. inspired by different formations of clouds and their movements, the record takes the lsistener from huge cloud castles in wolkenburg through cloud corridors down into the dark vibe of the fog. minimalistic drum manchine patterns, deep pads, hypnotic sequences and morphing basslines give the record its warm, lively and feral character. the lp was completely created out of live sessions with analog equipment and each track was recorded in one take. - these bouncing analog grooves are made for after hours in the early morning.
u know me records in collaboration with polish juke proudly presents the very first polish footwork vinyl record rhythm baboons the lizard king ep. rb: the lizard king is an outcome of my fascination with chicago footwork/juke. most of the tracks were created during a couple of spontaneous home studio sessions earlier this year. it was a raw play with the sounds and sampling with no particular plan that made the material more fun and dance-friendly than any of my previous records. the record features five original tracks and one remix by the legendary dj fulltono (japan). mastered by mikoł,,aj bugajak, album artwork created by stach szumski.
nachtbraker is back! its been a huge year for the amsterdam deep house juggernaut who returns to dirt crew with his all new and colorfully titled really ties the room together ep. constantly on the move, hes found time between touring throughout europe, asia and south america to continue to push his a-typical house sound forward with this years heist release and his quirky jam busy bee that was featured on our deep love 100 compilation. this three tracker is jam packed with bouncing club tunes and a whole lot of flange. things kick off with the title track really ties the room together. it twists and turns over an unconventional but irresistible groove, shimmying shakers, brass stabs and a serpentine riff work together creating a super tight dance floor cut. rew begins somewhere in deeper territory, suspense building beneath the clouds, a rumbling bass rolls in from over the horizon before a glorious funk guitar blows the whole thing wide open, letting the suns rays burst through and that familiar nachtbraker good time energy shine in. the rerub of rew is something altogether new from our deep house protagonist, a break beat and casual groove guide gently towards an ever intensifying acid trip. dont be fooled by the lovely deep chords, things get nasty in the end. its best to expect the unexpected from our adventurous resident producer, and this ep is no exception.
with day out of days, scratch massive has made a modern electronic album, perfectly at ease with the influence of pop, as a way to revisit and reexamine its clichés, its stylistic effects, and the hungry nostalgia for the 1980s.
if anything, stojche’s take on detroit inspired techno rarely requires your permission for engagement. the fifth installment of his own label, tangible assets, is no different. this singular producer always manages to conjure up otherworldly atmospheres that resonate from head to feet. with that said, we could spend the next three paragraphs throwing around adjectives and splashing colorful words all over this press release regarding his sound, the aesthetic within each track in this release, and we could even volunteer a side helping of words that somehow make sense of this young producers studio ability. one thing however is for certain. tang005’s true charm lies in its ability to capture an honesty and sincerity that’s as captivating as it is transcendent. there’s a clinical yet organic approach that stojche adopts time and time again in formulating his tangible asset releases, and if anything, tang005 should provide further evidence of his depth, maturity and innate ability to create enchantment. this record is wrapped in captivating moments born from flourishing stabs, twilight synths, rolling charges of calculated manic rhythms and subatomic motions living within a range of intricately programmed beats. add to that a host of cinematic sweeps that develop into harmonic clouds of melancholy and you’re one step closer to the true romance etched within the grooves of this record. once again, stojche has created an ep that catalyses imagination. a series of intense voyages with thoughtfully considered moments and movements that have been executed by a man well in tune with his craft.
male productions comes back after the first release -secret doctrine-, with the second lp : -clouds- ! this release comes as collector s album edition of 475 copies only and it contains the songs -clouds- and -interface- released in 1991 plus four unreleased songs recorded in the same year but performed only live during house parties back in the days. this lp still features stefano di carlo, leo young and mauro tannino.
being pioneers with a new album created in no more than 6 months, the orb are bound to be exposed to fan expectations running high, while quizzical questions about little fluffy clouds and the good old times take over. it s especially jarring as the duo of accomplished soundsmiths alex paterson and thomas fehlmann has become known for its genre-bending curiosity and surprising sonic detours, exploring experimental soundscapes as well as club-friendly beats. the funny thing is, though, that whatever the context, you know a track from the orb when you hear it. case in point: cow / chill out, world!, their latest full-length offering - a masterful ambient album that branches out in many directions, but unmistakably sounds like the orb in either ear (and probably to your third ear, too).

primavera may lifts you from ordinary life: the apparition of rain clouds and droplets blur into a soft curtain over the world as the whir of delicate hi-hats glisten in a muted sunlight. imagine a moment where the most inanimate inhabitants of the earth ghost dance before disappearing into nothing. makker s spoken vocals add a crestfallen hue to the vanished. she monotonously recites her regret: -everything is dancing / everything is crying / it can feel so heavy / before it has begun- a denser, yet similarly sorrowful song, before i fall asleep is sculpted around nimble strings and webbed by breathy vocals, remaining slightly suspended, as if levitating just above the verdant ground. halfway through primavera april, the track is transformed by acid showers, a lead synth lifts off to reveal a ravaged landscape, diametrically opposing the previous peace. the ambient acceptance snow closes primavera with the self-fulfilling prophecy of its theme: that snow will fall, and the world will go to sleep. conjuring the surreality of renkas childhood landscapes, for all its reverie, primavera always orients itself toward the responsibilities of the present. there is an acknowledgment that all day dreams must lead back to reality, that all journeys must be fulfilled.
five years after the excursion to san francisco schabel now returns with his combo to the haven of his hometown. “the night & the city” is an album tailor-made for sonar kollektiv: a melange of genres which deploys live instruments on an equal footing with samples and herewith becomes a highly explosive mixture of latin percussion, funk, poppy dub, moody, folky soul, afrobeat, ethno-jazz, bossa nova, hiphop und blaxploitation soundtracks.
butterflies is lord tang s second full length release. it is a warm descent into a dub fueled frenzy of color and light. it is a sound dredged from the depths of jamaican dub and spun into a new form that incorporates the many influences on lord tang s creator, dominic cramp: soundtracks, library music, vintage science fiction, broken beats, dirty electronics, modular electronic music, abstract tone clouds.
chicago basement trax returns with an homage to the king of the raw himself ron hardy. those that experienced ron hardy first hand will tell you there was a vibe like no other. a minimal space with strobe lights and a bangin system. if you put your hands on an eq or isolator as a dj thank ron as being an innovator of this creative style of frequency manipulation. not only did ron drop the bass, he dropped whole songs to expose the beautiful crispy hi hats, vocals and then romanced you with the piano before slapping your whole body with the beat. this ep does its job to take you there, just close your eyes and blast off!

the first place the world heard the lead track from this new love notes from brooklyn release, where pathways meet, was on deep house legend mike huckaby s my life with the wave show volume 2. pascal viscardi was one of many great artists to take huckaby s warm tones and turn them into a work of art. pathways. wriggles with deep funk and soul, and is paired with 3 other likeminded tracks for this very well-rounded ep. oshakusan is the dancefloor track, juxtaposing warm chords and an insistent sax sample over the a tough bassline and rhythm combination that s aimed staight at the floor. free at dawn is the fathoms deep effort, going miles below the surface in a emotional expression of soul, and and i showed the clouds (how to cover up a clear blue sky) provides a perfect outtro, and end to the statement made, making this ep feel truly complete.

kicking off the ruby hill s label with it s first release is birmingham s, nightmoves. the concrete ep is a four tracker, with dark room sleazily bass slapping it s way across the dance floor to you, building and oiling you up before flourishing into the synth laden house stomper that will work you into a tizzy, while once upon a time in guilin zones in on a trippy far east setting, drawing you in before an acid takeover. flip it over and find a more downtempo nightmoves with varnish , a heavily layered track with synth, bass and percussion brimming over, building from bell s, synths, kicks and hi-hats up to a house groove while cloud walking squelches it s way through trippy echoing synths and invites you to enjoy its deep distorted journey through the skies k-clouds. limited to 300 copies, housed in a hand stamped manilla brown sleeve with separate artwork and stickers
golden parachutes is a unique, collaborative musical effort comprised of stewart walker (us/berlin) and touane (italy/berlin). following five years of collaborative live-performances and techno releases through stewart’s persona records imprint, here the duo has decided to co-mingle their influences from afrobeat and progressive jazz into a boundary-free exploration. liberated from the constraints of repetitive, pounding kick drums, they unveil a new sound of timbral fluidity built-up from live and sequenced instruments. more than just music, their innovative approach delivers 43 minutes of consummate aural landscapes that pull the listener in head first. as the title ‘into the dark grey morning’ suggests the album takes you on a sweet atmospheric journey where melodic washes of colour and light flicker illumination into the dark clouds of monochromatic noise and reverb compositions, evoking fresh beginnings in electronic music... like a light at the end of the tunnel. as level records third long-play release, ‘into the dark grey morning’ is an unexpected turn away from the labels normal tendencies. with it’s live-instrumental melodies layered over sweeping electronic backdrops the album dips deeply into progressive rock waters and surfaces with a contemporary krautrock sound, logically delivered by a label from düsseldorf, the birthplace of krautrock music.
the new label la pince records created by the parisian trio dub creators aka dj d2b / steve ko / lucho misterhands is happy to announce you in preview the exit release - mongolistic ep -. for this first ep, dj d2b deliver to us 3 unique et exclusive directed pieces house / techno with a influence minimal. along with beats & vocals of shaman inspiration, hypnotic melodies with sensual tones, -which promise you a nice trip into the clouds-.
nice price - all tracks written and recorded by gordon sharp and matt kinnison between 2006–2011 at roi vert, okamoto (japan), 13th floor and space eko (london), southend (essex)... mastered at piethopraxis, june 2011. cut by rashad becker at dubplates & mastering, berlin, june 2011. hold everything dear is the third instalment in the new cindytalk sound which started with 2007s the crackle of my soul, and then last years up here in the clouds. its the first in the trilogy to feature musicians other than gordon sharp namely the late matt kinnison, to whom the album is dedicated. inspired by the john berger book of the same name, this latest release is whole new set of parameters which push the sound on the previous two works to an extreme point of abstraction, and in some places near silent passages and haunted melodic segments. and what a mysterious journey this ends up being with increased use of piano and found/field recordings giving all the tracks a blurry soundtrack appeal to the point where the definitions between the tracks are no longer clearly defined. it harks back to the odder parts of in this world and the wind is strong albums from the early 1990s
(ltd to 300 copies with custom made silk screen artwork) this ep continues with a theme originating from the final track on vaudeville, delving into the aesthetics of the interstellar clouds of cygnus and draco, also visual on the artwork.
songs without words, suggestive and emotional transparency and connection, contemplation and departure, meditation and attack: this music fascinates from the very beginning. it has no need to boast or become talkative, but stays true to itself as it casually develops its poignant pulse and lets it grow, and grow. the web of sounds soon begins to radiate from within, it inspires images in ones head, and invites to musing and introspection. against the background of a wide horizon the details of their music join, develop a life of their own, and lift off to collective flights of ideas. this music is an invitation to listen without prejudice, offering a way to get lost in dreams while, at the same time, remaining solidly grounded and completely awake.
here are no edges only night. the same dream again and again just a little bit different. in the future everything will be the present. no distance and no edges only light years. large silver clouds inside the eyelids, glittering and electric because of the black space. planets like eyeshine, things hide in the dark. listen for what you can t see.
nice price deal !!! it’s been nearly two years since the last sanys record. in the meantime, techno has flirted with noise and industrial, often resulting in gloomy self-indulgence. thankfully, there is no such creative verbiage on this seventh instalment of downfall theory. “seizure” starts the release with a robust, stepping rhythm and relentless stabs playing out against atmospheric, eerie textures. it’s like shed’s wax project jamming with deepchord. next up is ‘natural high’. this is one of sanys’ darkest moments so far, inspired by the depth and length of the st petersburg winter, it sees the russian producer lay down a visceral, muddy rhythm, against which ghostly shrieks and waves of frosty chords, blown in from the baltic sea, meet.
following eps for creme organization and w.t. records, art crime delivers a four tracker of meltingly good music on pinkman records. chords cascade, blending and reforming, in the warming wonder of still life , dead carnation is from a similar place. keys skipping down scales, dancing down them as percussion lends a touch of weight. distant is the mood changer. rain falls, smoke whirls and the night descends in this dark and intoxicating encounter. but those clouds part for the close. lush pads and soaring notes break through for calming currents of the less than aptly titled hectic . an artist rewriting stereotypes, an ep of true quality.
following last year’s breakthrough album “tundra”, lakker return to r&s with a very special new project.
lakker were commissioned by the re:vive initiative to create a new conceptual work solely sampling field recording, tv and radio broadcasts from the dutch national av archive, the netherlands institute for sound and vision. the curated material provided all related to and was representative of the theme the “dutch and water”.
the resulting 8 track release “struggle and emerge” is a tense soundtrack to the machine driven mid-20th century that captures the complex relationship between the dutch and the water that surrounds them- unyielding, colossal, industrial.
the vinyl lp includes a download code.
jelly beast recordings presents their second vinyl only va. again they accomplished to bring great artists together, with the best quality in underground minimalistic techno.
magical, mystical and straight from the heart: after -until then, goodbye- and -a day in the life- the hamburg based art curator, dj and producer lawrence releases yoyogi park - the third part of an album trilogy for mule musiq in collaboration with artist stefan marx. the album explores unknowingly relations between his very own ambient productions, acoustic sound experiments and the driving force of the dancefloor. the artwork is showing a 360 degree view of the yoyogi park in the heart of tokyo, that stefan marx created for a fanzine for the printed matter nyc book fair in 2015.
during their european tour earlier this year, canadian duo jokers of the scene stopped over for a couple of days at club bizarre studio in northern france. the two pair of producers locked up and came up with betaville and breakwater, two killer lo-fi and spaced out tracks. betaville is a fuzzy dream that will make you dance in slow motion with your head in the clouds. boasting a strong melodic and nostalgic feel, it unfolds its warm analog synth pads, old school sequences and drum machine to psychedelic effect. imagine boards of canada wanting to make you dance. even slower is breakwater, a dirtier, chunkier track that ditches the softness of betaville in favour of a more in your face bass line and all together rougher attitude. it chugs along to old fashioned beat box claps and percussion and quirky synth melodies. lastly betaville gets the timothy j fairplay treatment of being violently pulled apart and chucked in all corners. reminiscent of early chemical brothers music, a heavy beat slaps over agressive drugged up analog sound effects while a repetitive, haunting melody screams on top and reverberated vocals whisper in your ears. scary.
lack of depth returns to resopal with his 12“ follow up that continues to push gently outward against the boundaries of house music. although with a somehow decent melancholic note, the five deep and reduced tracks are drifting like clouds on a summer day. spindly arpeggios and quiet chords bounce against restrained drums. lack of depth sets hand drums and wood blocks against a limber house pattern while birdcalls and choirs punctuate the music with jubilant outbursts. coloured vinyl
italy s fastest rising name in house and techno returns to the respected drumcode imprint with this blistering new 4- track ep, climax. featuring a distinctive vocal sample crescending over a typically thumping bassline, opening lead track climax grows gradually with the introduction of a single synth note and skipping hi-hats.
repress . this second release for acronym on the swedish imprint dimensional exploration contains three powerful, almost otherworldly techno cuts that take you on a journey through dark volcanic synth sequences to dreamy pads and soulful synth riffs that has you floating above the clouds. this very limited release is highly recommended if you are in to deep techno.

repress !! having wowed critics and crate-diggers alike with 2012s acclaimed magik cyrkles compilation, psychemagik are now ready to unleash the follow-up, magik sunrise. bristling with psychedelic, cosmic and curiously balearic oddities hand-picked from the depths of their vast record collections, magik sunrise is, if anything, even more inspired that its predecessor.
given that magik cyrkles was widely considered to be one of the best compilations of 2012, that is some feat. that collection garnered praise across the board, appearing in the end-of-year charts of rough trade, juno and piccadilly records. as if that wasnt enough, dj magazine also described it as f***ing great! for magik sunrise, the kent-based duo has dug even deeper into the dusty corners of their record vault, deep in the cosmic forest. the result is another inspired, 15-track collection that gleefully skips between all manner of forgotten gems and little-known nuggets, occasionally stopping to acclaim an otherwise unknown track or artist.
