darlyns second appearance on mos ferry meanders between techno, house and a little bit of funk. the morning after is a minimalistic techno weapon, straight forward with no frills. with stag party the frenchman switches to a bouncing house groove, that feels powerful and self-confident.and finally, my command creates a warm and deep mood, just perfect for the morning hours and you never go wrong with a funky guitar lick.

sam walton is a 22 year old producer from manchester who came to hyperdub after feeding them demo tracks, and started off in 2011 with the *walton ep*, the first of three eps for the label. since then he has honed and developed his music into *beyond*, finding a really fresh and subtle intersection between music that doesnt seem to naturally fit together, old eski grime, funky and detroit house and techno but with smudged edges and a colourful industrial sound palette that gives a real richness to his productions.

luise presents one of her dearest friends: with lul#005, constantijn lange shares his impressions of the mystifying nature and culture of morocco. in orange atlas, your mind travels through the kingdom, as constantijn melts together field-recordings with his unique sense for acoustic expression. the uplifting *rote nacht* (a1) reveals the contrasting energy between the tumultuous city and the silent mountain, before gently giving way to the feelings of the exotic seascape in *essaouria* (a2). delicately, yet suprising as ever, acid pauli rearranges the warm drums in *essaouria* (b1) to let your spirit rest in an imagined, green oasis, before it is completely taken away by the lightness of the seabirds in *thagazout* (b2).

aptly titled the noughties, the latest 12 inch from beats in space records features three tracks recorded between 2005 and 2009 courtesy of tokyos humbly dynamic gonno. a dynamic producer who is clearly not afraid to nest until crucial hatch time, gonno flies the coop with a wingspan throwing psychedelic colour at a sunburst sky. blending a spectrum of musical influences and personal touch points about the people (and animals) he has encountered and the implicit joy / sorrow in that exchange, gonnos productions blur the lines between art and life experience.

part 2 concludes killawatts largest body of music to date, the opposing rhetoric ep, a 6 track opus of truly progressive uk underground sound that melds his influences from dubstep and techno with expansive, high-tension sound design. the eps second triplet of beats feature his most overtly techno-focussed sounds yet, expanding his horizons and dropping the pace down to 125bpm, and delivers punishing dancefloor rigidity and bass-immersed sonic force. on black air, killawatt threads tightly coiled syncopations above a grinding 4×4 structure, and delivers a near-cacophonic but ultimately heavy full-sensory overload. the flipside is divided between the churning swell of dark industrial aesthetics on art of discourse, and the moody permutations of reactive technique, where rippling melodic shimmers provide accentuation to its pounding sub-density.

in 2011 jaki whitren & john cartwrights original international times lp saw a release on emotional rescue after originally hitting the shelves in 1982. the pair are now part of a remix ep by misericord and one-time internasjonal producer al usher, who supplies two remixes and a dub, while a spacey aphophenia dub to the track times has added for extra measure. ushers first rework of stay cool sounds like a 2013 meeting between a purple-clad prince and a young diana ross, while the dub version sees princes funk make way for giorgio moroder sound design. on the flip is a acoustic-leaning and inspirational this time, which could easily soundtrack a mesmeric highway-driving scene from thelma & louise.

four up-and-coming artists appear on shag edits volume 2 which is kick-started by rebels *you somebodies*, a bassy piece of looping filter house meant for peak time play. newcomer riri throws down jazzy horns, marching snares and acoustic rimshots in a slow moving *get it on*, while chockys *i like* features cut vocals caught between interchanging melodies of pulsating rhythms. jamie trench, responsible for the labels first ep, delivers sexy vocals in *locks, frocks & 2 floating sparrows*, a laid back disco joint with the same summery vibe as barmy miami night.

a bunch of bubbling uk deep house players line up on introducing newington, a new label of the same name that is clearly fond of the n16 postcode with vocal house on the menu. ejeca, the irishman earmarked as the next bicep, keeps up his relentless form this year with the opening track robodrum which is a playful shuffling little house number that rotates between stabbing vocal samples and piercing chords. moving south of the irish border, dublin based frank b kills it with trieste a wonderfully warp cut that sounds like it has been recovered from a dust filled dat tape. london types jack fell down take a cleaner, but no less infectious approach on for you whilst midlands type tom flynn rounds it out with the deep and bouncy going on.

the rothmans label combines an unlikely link between football statistics, some of the best (or worst) haircuts to grace the european version of the game, with jacking drums and acid-based rhythmics. the label dedicates its third ep to french striker dominique rochetea, with a various artists ep as strong as the back four of arsenals 98 fa cup winning side. the nigel winterburn of the release is coyotes without the e, a squelchy and balearic groove with psychedelic vocals not too far off from dj koze mrs bojangles. aimes and scott fraser provide the ep with the composure of tony adams and the brute force of martin keown with their respective synth-led productions the kontemplation of kosmic order and heat for dust, while on the right - a would be lee dixon - drvg cvltvre, supplies the master builder, an ebm and industrious dancefloor workout.

in 2011, we begin to think about doing a record label. we had been following somaticae for some time and at this moment he was playing some art & punk gigs with a furious live of electronic improv, on the edge between hypnosis and noise. two of these sessions became our second release, *dressed like a bubblegum*, raising the interest of people like surgeon, perc, and peter van hoesen , his remix for mondkopfs *ease your pain* receiving praise from ancient methods as well as labels downwards and avian. but somaticae had already moved forward, and in a matter of a few weeks, he was sending us what quickly and easily took shape as *catharsis*, a ten track piece which is to be the first album release on in paradisum.

the revenge is at the helm for the first release of his new label roar groove. the body fusion ep continues to pair discos groove with the deeply contemplative musical roots that have earned him worldwide respect. the 4 featuring tracks fit between the lines of live electronics and more endearing deep slow burning club jams bringing inspiration from graemes pre-revenge band project.

*airglow fires* is the first new lone material to emerge since his masterful *galaxy garden* album, his most complete body of work to date. departing from the themes of the rave/hardcore revival and cinematic interstellar travel, *airglow fires* sees him exploring a more considered and intimate sound alongside a rediscovered love of classic hip-hop, as he explains: i love hip hop and house music when it is at it is rawest - to me airglow fires has that kind of 90s basement vibe to it, where the lines between the two genres are kind blurred.

tyree coopers all you need is house ep is a proud celebration of the genre, done chicago style and rammed home by marco’s wailing vocals. through solid drums and strong vocal hooks, coopers original beats down hard justifying the need for a 180g pressing. it rattles and hums until dropping into a tom-drum and snare solo similar to runaways *brooklyn club jam*. bobby starrs mix brings marcos teddy pendergrass-sung vocals to the fore, while milty evans gets a little techier with a cut up approach, adding white noise flashes and lots of filterwerk. cooper second take comes via a classic dub which draws a link between squelchy baile funk and a masters at work drum track.

visionquest’s ryan crosson, mighty duo tale of us and the unique aquarius heaven all unite for the into later habits ep - the next release on the visionquest imprint. a-side angel is a collaboration between crosson and tale of us, a multi-layered head trip with a moody intro of broken beats that builds with intricate textures until a rolling groove drives the track into another dimension. b-side head under water is structured around the penetrating and distinctive voice of aquarius heaven as he weaves a story of the importance of family and love. beginning on a sparse, ambient tip with electronic bleeps and fx, the track develops with a hypnotic percussive groove that vibrates beneath the powerful narration.

after years sound tracking the dancehalls of bristol via their considered selections as djs, brotherly pair the kelly twins add label bosses to their cvs with the establishment of happy skull. the label kick offs in illustrious fashion with a collaborative release between two of bristols most interesting producers, kowton and hyetal. adopting the name systems of desire, the pair worked on a track together, before going off to produce their own individual versions entitled *control* and *consumption*, the results are exactly the intriguing cross between kowtons raw, crunchy, grime influenced techno and hyetal’s glistening synth work you would imagine.

the novasor ep is already andres zaccos fourth appearance on airdrop records and boy are we proud to bring you a record we hold so dear in our hearts. curated with uttermost care, here are three numbers in pure zacco tradition. produced during different times over the last eighteen months, the novasor ep is perfectly representative of zaccos unique sound, transcending the borders between house and techno, blending the genres into one whole.
