this project is a long distance collaboration between two amazing artists: andrea noce and david kristian during the year 2013. each track have been made after set up basic guidelines (style, tempo, structure, and workflow).

barotti is a musician and contemporary multimedia artist based in berlin. after years of working on urban sound installations, performing arts and experimental music, he is now releasing his debut album. a soundtrack for fantastic futuristic fairytales. epic and symphonic - with a deep electronic base. armed with iconic analog gear of the 1970s and 1980s, a hand-picked group of high level classical string and horn players and the whole imaginary world of his absurd fantasies, barotti is opening up a new dimension in the vast field between contemporary classical and electronic music.

marcel vogel has decided to celebrate the first five years of his edit-heavy lumberjacks in hell imprint in the only way he knows how: by putting together a sumptuous double pack stuffed with fresh new material. in keeping with the way the label has developed in recent times, the eight tracks blend the boundaries between original productions, illicit remixes and straight re edits. there s a celebratory, life affirming feel throughout, from the rubbery bass, d-train synths and rolling house grooves of giovanni damicos the break down, to the bluesy deep house brilliance of borrowed identitys queens bridge. highlights are plentiful elsewhere, too, from the hustlin electrofunk meets disco of vogel s own come on, to the killer synth solos and fuzzy bits of tim jules thrilling slap beat.

great techno release with inigo kennedy rmx & headless horseman the past years have seen yacoub chakarji and irakli kiziria exploring vast range of different directions spanning from deeper tracks to more utilitarian music, but always with originality. this time the berlin duo return on the label fracture with a playfully mental cut that gets remix treatment from two of the most interesting techno artists in recent times. termination hits a striking balance between functionality and an almost deviant quality. in the hands of inigo kennedy it becomes splendid atmospheric techno, while headless horseman makes it more explosive and sinister for his first time on remix duty. music for the more daring selectors out there

following the release of the ‘extraction’ and ‘hydraulic pressure’ 12”s earlier this year, adventice – the incendiary collaboration between dj deep and roman poncet, returns to tresor. while taking the groove up quite a few notches, and as per its two predecessors, ‘exsurgence’ unfolds in three different versions around a common theme.
the ‘main mix’ opens into hammering chords yet taking a delicate turn into an synth-heavy refrain. on the flip, the ‘reduced mix’ follows the same composition while playful and cinematic as the use of hihats add a skip to your step and pick up the pace. the ‘percussive mix’ and its rapid drum patterns, exude a fragrance of vocals triggering endless soundscapes.
with this new three track single, dj deep and roman poncet deliver a fierce package, another warning for what is still to come for the duo.

gliding onto unthank via the canadian riviera and the shores of orion comes lnrdcroy s debut solo ep. 3 tracks of heaving, dense, rhythmic ambience culled from recent live gigs in and around vancouver. this eighth release on unthank further strengthens the bond between lnrdcroy and parent label firecracker recordings, whose double lp re-edition of much less normal is due imminently.

schuko ep is the second release from the lyon (france) based label aiia recordings, which without surprise is still speaking about techno. the release is signed by the german duo schutzkontakt, with one member from dualit, who uses violent and reverbering kicks on konter and latenz, completed by a deep and sweet melody on frage, whether by different layers of indus samples. the most relevant feeling by listening this four-track ep is that it brings you between hard and soft moments, but still in a mighty state of mind, thanks to the intensity put by schutzkontakt in schuko ep. even if everything slacken when zyllinder comes with its more groovy and acid rhythms after the two precedent techno-indus tracks.

anubis ep wants to bring back metaphorically that solid foundation of reality through music and feeling. the first track, anubis, like the egyptian god, provides a safe passage to another world through its dub chords, dark techno berlinish synths and hidden messages in the voices scatters on the whole track. the remix, made by canadian based artist hooll, has a more minimal and deep dub approach completing perfectly the other side of the journey. finally the last track, thoth, represents a mediating energy between dark and light with raw low ends and groovy percussions creating a wormhole like journey for the listener.

eklo 032 is really proud to present you justin zerbst. he had released music between 97 & 99 onthe australian label red ember records from ewan jansen . some unreleased tracks from 98 & 99 in here, plus a track repressed from red ember, old school deep shit, lets rave.

shortly after his first ep on dnuos ytivil, sub-division of bristol imprint livity sound, simo cell, neo-parisian and nantes native, puts his second release out on fragil musique. on this one, the young producer asserts his bass-tainted electro influences. highly skilled and very technical dj, but above all open to bridges between genres and eras, the record feels like he conceived it for his own club usage. on the a side, two subtle twin tracks, -reading rashid- and -soko ban-. cycling melodies and hypnotic pads sketch two bass outlines, as simple as effective, that seem perfectly fit for switching from a stripped down techno track to an old jungle weapon. on the flip, hit track -meteor racer- is surprising. a rawer and more stripped down electro piece that lifts the veil a bit more on the young producers talent. those four brilliantly crafted track definitely place simo cell among the french newcomers to watch closely.

finale sessions is excited about this release from knoxville, tennessee artist alex falk. he has been on our radar for some time now so we are pleased to share this with you! the a1 track -an ever- is one of our favorite tracks on the ep, with dreamy pads and monstrous stabs making for a fantastic floor-stomper. rounding out the a side is rrecs, a deep techno cut with clattering chords and moving drums and claps. b1 track what is free is another solid peak time killer with thick stabs and cut-up vocals making for a perfect finale sessions release. finally, br56 brings up the tempo while chilling out the vibe with dubbed-out chords, nasty filter work and a sound floating somewhere between techno and house.

nutabe still traveling between sounds we like. dijon triathlon is the solo project of jose santamaria, who for the second reference of discos nutabe brings with him the synthetic and diminutive of house music. pandemia its an ep that returns to the early and mid-2000s, when the microhouse takes the worlds dance floor. three beautifully produced sound and impeccable cuts, where each element has a meticulous preparation and a single order. simple sounds that fill a full dijon triathlon style.

marco bernardi returns to brokntoys for yet another rollercoaster of emotions. switching between jittery house, lo-fi nagging electro and blissed out techno with nods to detroit. vinyl comes hand stamped complete with individual screen printed artwork unique to each copy.

gdm (glaswegian dance music) pioneer - sparky (aka dave clark) is back on numbers. having spent the last year on lockdown in his luxurious garden studio we have finally managed to wrestle two tracks out of his ageing hands. signals is an all-new track, first heard on dave’s essential mix for bbc radio 1 (aired as part of jackmaster s made in glasgow), and now in the sets of ben ufo and jd twitch. signals is classic sparky, nailing that sweet spot between the proto-techno sounds of british synth pop and the dancefloor nous of the motor city. the flip is a snarling metal-bashing beast called tigress which comes direct from his archives. we ve been on at him to release this one for almost a decade and after playing a 192 mp3 at a pretty boisterous numbers x optimo party last summer, sparky finally relented. one day we ll convince sparky to let us release all the music sitting in his vaults but for now here are two gems from a man whose music has played a pivotal role in the history of numbers.

original rio beach boy marcos valle returns with a brazilian masterpiece. evoking his carioca sound - where expansive orchestral sweep meets beautiful melody and complex harmony - valle mixes perfect romantic bossa-pop with cinematic brass and strings. this new recording explores a six decade career that has swung between pop, bossa nova, delicate psychedelia, jazz, and funk. responsible for bossa classic >summer samba (so nice)< valle has collaborated with leon ware, sarah vaughan, & chicago, seen his track >ele e ela< sampled by jay z for blueprint 3, and his songs recorded by the likes of frank sinatra and bebel gilberto.

the ufo station steered by knutsson/berg travels further into unknown territory with their third release, a solo ep from hans berg, inspired by the idea of whales communicating through galaxies and outer space oceans, vast underwater landscapes in foreign worlds. on whales ep we hear bergs trademark quirky melodies over lush pads and slamming drums, landing somewhere between detroit techno and scandinavian melancholy.

amsterdam native mr mendel continues to churn out top notch edits at a steady pace in between crate digging and gigs around the world. this second 12 inch for basic fingers is a welcome follow up to his previous release which featured fela & gil. on release no.28 he s dug even deeper than last time and found not one, two or three but four absolute killer songs to take his razor sharp blade to. no messing around, mr mendel aims straight for the top with these joyful disco cuts.

following last years meditative mirage ep and the stunning * beat 13* on lovers rock no. 6, earthen sea returns to lr with his debut lp ink. his heaviest and most ambitious work to date, ink is a work of hypnotic, monastic beauty. over the last ten years, earthen sea, aka jacob long, has been developing a sound world all his own, built on a foundation of vaporous grey-black drones and pulsing kick drums. an impressionistic dream-scape of american life, ink journeys between the eerily vacant “entrance” to the feverish “stateless” and the shimmering perfection of “all men know the truth.” swaths of violent, glacial noise collide with lost voices transmitted through the ether, framed between moments of transcendent clarity. following an extended three song suite, closing track * blues in black ink* rides a gently falling piano melody into a finale that is as infused with political rage as it is with private melancholy. with ink, earthen sea arrives fully formed, an artist in utter command of his craft.

welcoming the fourth vinyl only instalment from farfromnormal features an excellent 3 track ep from the up and coming julian. after a long process julian has come up with 3 great original tracks which farfromnormal where happily to take on board and put together julian s very first vinyl release. this record grabs your attention from the start with track 1 resorave. resorave is a very psychedelic track with dark drums and beautiful slow atmospheres and a tripping vocal. track 2 grunge is much more on the groovy side to with fantastic production and pads that take you on a great journey. track 3 chorale is the title track and the one track to leave you on a high, with the heavy kicks and bass lines mixing between a tripping vocal and beautifully placed instruments, this is perfect for the peak hours.

powell unveils his brand new single ‘insomniac / should’ve been a drummer’.. his second release on xl recordings. following on from the acerbic ‘sylvester stallone / smut’ double a-side released earlier this year, the new single continues to blur the lines between contemporary club music, punk and forward-thinking computer acid. describing the music is a challenging prospect… but dancing to it isn’t. both as an artist in his own right and through the music released on his own label diagonal, oscar powell has established himself among this decade s most singular, exciting artists. the music is tough, but always playful.

youth stand up! is a collaborative recording project between glasgows green door studio, lebeha drumming center in hopkins, belize, and the tafi cultural institute based in tafi atome, ghana. the results of the collaboration are this nine track album released on autonomous africa. all proceeds from the youth stand up! album sales will be split between tuteme band, belize and tafi cultural institute’s fund to build their recording studio and cultural centre. there will be two 12inches released in late 2015 / early 2016 featuring remixes of tracks from the album by jd twitch, midland, auntie flo and hodge. the 12inches will eau also include an additional bonus track recorded at the original sessions.
