fantastic and incredibly rare afro-disco album from 1978. originally released on the seminal french disco label barclay, this album seamlessly blends elements of african, afrobeat, funk and disco styles, with segments continually morphing and evolving into new tracks. irresistibly funky and percussive, this album’s drumming patterns and melodies grandually hypnotise the listener, with only outbreaks of african chanting breaking up the grooves. the b-side is effectively one long drum track broken down into 7 segments that never drop a beat. this album really takes the listener on a journey to africa, via 1978 new york, and is a real one of a kind. it’s also a samplers dream with no end of complex drum patterns and basslines to recycle.

cosmo vitelli, i’m a cliché’s founder and head, heard the voice of our unruly feet after taking us on a long car journey with botox. night dogs is his first solo ep in a long time. and he’s back to the dancefloor with an unexpectedly nervous pace.

the uncanny valley-quartet is rounded up by the ace of spades. before starting to release its first artist-eps, the compilation-series is rounded up for now with the roughest ep so far. sneakers you think you think! takes no prisoners and comes with a dark bass line you cant really resist. the track is a musclebound monster and includes claps that are out of control and freaked out vocals by sneaker himself. no less rough is cvbox machinematch, even if its acid-thunderstorm builds up far more subtly. finally, plätschern by stefan lohse takes us on a 100-bpm-journey straight into analogue wonderland..

the lp offers a different flavor, continuing this celestial, heart-felt journey miles away on a foggy day. but don t get too morose as there is hope in the upbeat, breaks-driven last sunbeam. the tempo continues to build in everywhere i go before launching into the techy sounds of the heavily vocoded computer love. mc fava lends his talents on a plethora of tracks, including addicted and the title track, stay forever.

taragana pyjarama is 21 year old nick eriksen from denmark, >taragana pyjarama< is his debut release on french house label fool house, following the self imposed death of previous project elm ick, which went onto release on john talabots hivern label (barcelona). the release features three original tracks, ‘,sundanese blonde’,, ‘,ocean’, and ‘,girls’, the breakout track that had the mp3 blog dance community in raptures at the tail of of summer ‘,10. eriksen may feel at home creating deep new house productions but it’,s natural attraction towards the journey in his productions that resonate most, no less so in ‘,sundanese blonde’, perhaps the stand out track on the ep and the sole track to feature a vocal. ricardo tobar provides a pulsating take on ‘,girls’,. as for the definition of taragana pyjarama? we’,re still not sure.
