the music of swedish producer hans berg often soundtracks sculptural installations produced in collaboration with his partner nathalie djurberg. working as an artistic duo since 2004, their output comprises animation, public sculpture, immersive environments and now, vinyl recordings taken from these same pieces. berg brings his experience in house and techno music culture to bear on this cooperative process. the first track began life as an accompaniment to the outdoor work in dreams (2016), installed at the wanås sculpture park in sweden. a naturalistic soundscape of birdsong gives way to a wave of complex, driving synth-pop, itself a shimmering reflection of the riotous, mirrored floor that nestled in the forest glade.

while unveiling the * mutant tournament* quartet last year, label boss nachtbraker was quietly hunting for new music behind the scenes. being the fine huntsman he is, he came out of the woods with sonic bits and bobs so delectable he had no choice but to spread them out over two brand new quartets. thats right, eight records in total, to be released over the course of the next 18 months. were delighted to introduce you to scott franka, whos at the helm of the first missive. this creative head from amsterdam has been making music since the tender age of 11, but it wasnt until he adopted his scott franka moniker that he really found his groove.

consistently unearthing a hotbed of new talent, hot creations next release is back to the music from dj and producer sooney. the release features two original tracks and a stellar remix from one of the biggest names in dance music, route 94. title track back to the music is an exhilarating record shaped through melodic synths and keys alongside a sharp bassline. route 94 strips back his remix to the bare groove. while the chugging beats of afraid of the dark bring the release to an accomplished close. london based sooney fell in love with house, hardcore & jungle in the early 90 s. in 2015 he set up his own label, take control records, gaining support from the likes of shadow child, jamie jones and gorgon city to name a few. since being discovered by the hot creations family, sooney’s sights are firmly set on big things for 2017. fellow uk artist route 94 shot into the limelight in 2012 with chart success and has since gone on to appear on labels including virgin, defected and crosstown rebels, and work with major names like katy b and jess glynne.

nyc-based duo jasmine golestaneh and eddie cooper write songs through a telepathic kinship thevve developed since they started making music together. we have these sort of unspoken criteria when we re writing music. we never really need to explain what that is but we both know when it s missing or when we ve hit it. the pair, aka tempers, are set to release their fundamental fantasy ep via the vinyl factory on 24th february. creating an emotional and tonal tension of sensual and mechanical impulses, their brand of dark electronica sets haunting song writing to a sinister disco beat, pop melodies floating in an almost industrial soundscape. it follows the bands 2015 debut full-length services. fundamental fantasy is about exploring the creative scenery of romantic illusions. our need for them, how we justify them to ourselves, that moment when the imagined story line collides with reality. the ways we fictionalize people to fit into the narratives we have about love - to reflect our own beliefs, virtues and flaws. it is about celebrating fantasies swelling and getting undone, so we can pick up the pieces and craft new ones that serve us better tempers musically, fundamental fantasy is an evolution in both song writing and process, while still tracing a clear line to their earlier output. many of the eps melodies were born of live improvisation, which helped them create an instinctive, natural immediacy within their electronic arrangements. the cover of the ep depicts the duo on the volcanic island of stromboli, where they performed at the volcano extravaganza, an art and music festival curated by the vinyl factory.it is a perfect landscape to mirror the mood of ‘fundamental fantasy. a seemingly idyllic place that is isolated from the outside world.

1994 - chicago producer rick lenoir has already released a slew of legendary records under many well known aliases and his house jam label has been in business since 87. the sanctuary project is the nom de plume utilised by rick for this particular killer disco infected 4 track ep from that period. the keen eared among you will no doubt recognise some of the sample sources used throughout these tracks, lenoir flips jazzy loops, chopped up vocals and lays it all out over some kicking drum programming, this is that style of sample based house that has the hardened dance heads and hip-hoppers unified, gritty, raw and brimming over with soul! the cuts featured on this ep will sit nicely with most contemporary sounds and shows how on the money rick was in the mid 90 s! the record has long been out of print and has been forever popular with the diggers out there, commanding a healthy price when available in the second hand stores and online. this reissue has been realised with the full involvement of rick lenoir / house jam records, chicago and is 100% legit! don t snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting house heads record bag or dj set, classic material made available again for 2017 - running it’!

roman flügel and andrew weatherall supply two outstanding remixes of phil kieran recent album ‘blinded by the sun’, which david holmes claimed is “one of the best electronic dance inspired records in recent times.” mixmag described phil kieran as “one of those producers that impresses with every release” so it comes as no surprise that two music heavyweights have jumped on board for remix duty. kieran accounts flügel and weatherall to both having a heavy influence on his career. german dj and producer roman flügel is easily one of the most revered names in the dance music spectrum. his take on ‘no life’ is a masterclass in production. flügel has created a track that is powerful whilst also superbly intricate. flügel holds over twenty years of experience, extensively releasing on a number of labels whilst also co-founding ongaku, klang and playhouse recordings. uk born dj and producer maestro andrew weatherall remixes ‘finds love’ and reminds the listener of how beautiful electronic music can be. combining cosmic layers with the ethereal vocal, this is a lesson in what a remix means. weatherall has been experimenting with techno since the 90s, and well regarded as one of the world’s most influential djs. kieran created a ten track narrative in ‘blinded by the sun’, inspired by his experiences in the industry. it was met with high acclaim globally and this remix package further imprints his vision on pioneering imprint hot creations.

the fruit band s fleeting existence was only recently revealed by the discovery of a few unsold copies of their sole 1978 single, say it, which quickly became a cult showpiece for savvy djs and collectors. athens of the north has since reached out to cypress studios of jacksonville, florida and discovered a complete album of the group s stylish, dancefloor-smashing funk and deep disco on tape, unreleased for over 30 years. here we present out two favorite unreleased tracks on 45 for the first time. 500 only no repress.

deepblak’s chief alchemist aybee releases his fourth full-length studio album, the odyssey. as befitting its grand title, this newest long-player finds him concerned with personal journeys: both the personal one that has brought him to this point - living in berlin, 15 years since founding deepblak in his native oakland - and the one that beckons for him personally and creatively in future: aybee sees himself as being halfway up a mountain, looking back on where he has come from, and to where he will be headed next - both concepts play a profound role in the emotional textures of the album, which in true deepblak fashion draws from jazz, deep house, techno, hip hop, blues, experimentation, cinema, space, time and infinity.

safer at night returns late january 2017 with the vinyl only release of the deep end , featuring two original curses cuts and remixes from ian blevins and holy ghost! safer at night founder curses launched the label back in 2014 and it has since gone to play host to material from eli esobar, walker & royce, jagerverb and of course the label founder himself. here we see curses re-release his composition the deep end marking the ten-year anniversary of its former releases on institutes in 2007, while enlisting ian blevins and holy ghost! on remix duties and stirring in a new original of his own as well. the original mix of the deep end takes the lead and offers a chance to revisit the decade old curses cut fuelled by wandering bass and lead guitar licks, dropped-tempo crunchy rhythms and murky piano chords all instilled with a gritty new york electro feel. holy ghost! then rework the original with the funk-laden feel via bright chord sequences, elongated delay swells and an amalgamation of 80 s synth leads, hooky bass lines and sporadic vocal lines. on the flip ian blevins offers up his interpretation of in shadows employing stuttering vocal hits, choppy arpeggios and droning bass leads to create an emotive and hypnotic number before curses original mix of in shadows closes on a cinematic vibe with an 80 s sci-fi soundtrack feel to perfectly conclude this vinyl only 10 year celebration.

the pathway traxx journey continues! following the storming success of the killer pt06 from dj w!ld we welcome a stomping, home grown, 4 track ep from the pathway label owner niko maxen. this ep has been over 3 years in the making, since the early days of pt01 when niko produced the original tracks for the label. it has been an intention to follow that release with a solo ep, and that time has now come. true to form, niko’s ep delivers a hard dose of raw house, seductive vocals, slamming kick drums, and skippy hats.
2017 is set to be a big year for niko as he lines us several big releases and another 4 track vinyl ep all in the early half of the year. it seems now is the perfect time for this in-form artist to come out from the shadows and into the limelight.

following 2014 s well received album for third ear under his :brownstudy alias, life well lived , jason hogans steps away from the mic to focus on an lp of flawless instrumentals. returning to production under his own name for the first time since carl craig s planet e label released his album peter and the rooster in 1998, the age of scrap belies its title to instead deliver a forward thinking record rooted in classic detroit, fused with futurist sonics and dope beats. hogans seamlessly combines strains of house, jazz and hip hop, as well as the futurist bass pioneered by the likes of la s brainfeeder collective, throughout seven perfectly formed musical excursions. tip.

the noisemaker is back on raw waxes with his typical sinister, analogue-only electronic and techno music excursions, after the first series of eps remixed by inigo kennedy, mike parker, blind observatory and more. all productions are meant and released to offer a -living the moment- musical concept. the artwork has been realized by benedikt rugar, german illustrator continuing the abstract porn visual imaginary since the label fifth release.

i walked by night is a new label created with the ethos that comes from the foundations of any good resident dj, that of good selection. label boss krysko, who has held residencies for over 16 years, brings his experience to his new label. the debut release comes from tristan grace, a uk based artist (aliases - oe & prime time crew). raised propping up record store counters on the south coast since his early teens, now lives pretty isolated from current club culture. nothing beats being in the storm of a dance floor, but being able to step away from the pull and draws of the scene allows him to diarise his occupational exposure through trax. inspiration from the motor city and acid sound lies at the heart of what he does. influenced by rolling green hills, and surrounded by the analog soul of his machines - he has an addiction to vintage machines of asian origin, valves, and its fair to say, he lives his life in 16 step sequence. the furse ep moves across the width of his sound, and this being his debut release on i walked by night, there will be many more to come.

just in time for ade, we are more than happy to present a new release by one of our main protagonists since our renaissance. lehar has made a fascinating career in only two years, he is a key member in our label family as well as diynamic and plays gigs around the world. his -white diary ep“ is his most unique release so far, with two original tracks by him and two dub versions by uk house legend charles webster. -the cave- is a very touching track which again shows lehar’s love for deep but popish moments in his music. again, he has teamed up with l.a. singer rush midnight, who already lent his voice to -number one hero“, which was released earlier this year on the diynamic sub-imprint 2diy4. an instrumental version is also available in the digital package. the title track -the white diary“ is a demanding and hypnotic builder, which was already played often by solomun during the summer. this is a next level lehar track, signature sound structure combined with a highly effective arrangement. a winner for many situations. charles webster has been a favourite of the connaisseur label heads alex flitsch and martin henkel for ages. requesting a remix by him has been on the connaisseur bucket list since day one. he gave -the cave“ two different dub treatments, one better than the other. his -dub the first“ already takes the original one foor deeper, making it very timeless and hypnotic. his -dub the second“ takes it even deeper and is adding a proper portion of trippiness. music for the guardians of the real stuff!

nice price deal !!! alessandro bocci s first official full-length album under the m16 guise considerably fleshes out the portrait previously established on the eps he s issued since the alias s 2004 inception (prior to m16, the bologna-based producer was a member of starfuckers). in its early going, lack corner after the beat sessions sounds like it might shape up into a solid but well-behaved collection of artful techno, in particular when armati opens the set promisingly with four minutes of metronomic, bass-heavy throb, and lab 1 follows suit with an agitated broil of bottom-heavy locomotion. but a more experimental side gradually begins to declare its presence in the rippling crackle and buzzing whirrs that threaten to smother the combustible beat undercurrent pounding throughout lab 1. sounding perfectly at home in this context, the already-heard ep cut agenzia 13 then works a thunderously thudding kick drum and ricocheting percussive accents into a roiling groove that grows ever more forceful until it reaches a steamrolling climax.

christopher spraggins & the strange band out of rochester, n.y released a total of one record. a spaced out druggy disco band that had a hint of rick james with a deeper trippier vibe that’s truly unique, reproduced for you here for the first time since 1978. the band was introduced to the world by cleveland unlimited records who still exist to this day, unfortunately as these things go, the record failed to gain sales needed to justify further but a whole lp was recorded, here we bring you the best tracks from that unreleased lp on your favourite format.

rotterdam based 25 places are back on dirt crew with a bang! since their love more release in 2015 the boys have been hard at work and have just released an ep for chez damier on his prescription records sub label balance. the bounce begins with party in the hills hosting a huge kick, loopy rhodes, squelching bass, ragga flavoured vocal and squeaky lead, its straight up good times right from the get go. an infectious groove on this one! closing title song heads into deep soaring territory, its forward house beat and pulsing synth lead intertwine with loose tropical percussion and a rhapsodic horn hook. on the flip we have laurence guy who does not really need an introduction anymore, the man has been all over the place since this years releases on cin cin, outplay and the imminent church where he dropped two big eps bamboo and kojak. here he takes on the soulful deep chicago house of 25 places and turns it into a 90s breakbeat acid galore of ecstasy tingled uk house. 25 places wrap up the rave session with backyard stories, a raw and bouncing, bass face inducing jam. uplifting and dirty in one stroke, its thumping kick and feverous melodies make it impossible not to move.

plant43 aka emile facey returns to cpu with his second ep for the sheffield imprint, and brings more of his ultra-refined electro to the table. surgical pads, robotic x0x beats and melodic basslines fuse the tracks into faceys signature science-lab machine funk. facey has been very busy since his last outing on cpu back in 2013, with an lp on shipwrec, and ep s on semantica, ac records and frustrated funk. he is showing no sign of slowing down and weightless in the void pushes his sound even further into the future

following their album save! aka colder & mutado pintado are back on dlm, with another deadly attack! kamikaze style. we ve been waiting a longtime for an i:cube remix. we ve been fans and friends since his debut and we love that he strayed from his more technoey recent work, as great as it is. this is full on psychedelia, almost rock in its approach. a trip, not a track. russia s great hope (not ivan drago), lipelis, hot on the wheels of his macdonald flack and the ack-ack pack pack remix delivers two radicals/tangents. police & robbers. they fly high, both in their own manner. rainy monday is dubbed out in space with that jungle screw feel. slowed down breaks that are all the rage with the yoof, apparently but lipelis takes it to another level. last floor his version of darkness in the middle is a trickster, you d think almost ambient kraut before you end up on an italo-piano-expansives beach.

many of us wondered what happened to legendary chicago artist, producer and dj spencer kincy aka gemini since the early 2000s. a cursed journey into insanity or a deliberate choice to turn the page of music for another life ? speculations have been abound...where did he go ? with these 3 previously unreleased tracks one should think spencer is back on the scene...but not quite. just lost tapes found in the attic, some unlikely email communications and you ve got the lost ep, his final testament under the gemini moniker. what you have here is another brilliant example of spencer s musicality, raw or metallic sounds melted into live and program drums delivering unique dancefloor energy (4321, jungle life) or deeper, and simpler structures with chicago vibes from another age (monday to wednesday). defiantly fresh !

we re extremely pleased here at invisble inc hq to be releasing this amazing new album by veteran multi-instrumentalist and ethno-musicologist jon keliehor. originally from seattle and musically active since the 1960s jon started out playing drums and percussion in bands like the daily flash and bodine all the while becoming known as a venerable session and touring musician in his own right. not many people can claim to have played alongside jim morrison and james brown....but jon certainly has.

death on the balcony s ‘tides of fortune has been the subject of relentless -track id- requests pleading us to reveal the name of the artist and track since be-at-tv streamed the bpm performance of lee burridge and matthew dekay back in 2015. joined on the ep by three other tracks there s a cohesive feel to the two friends vibe. mysterious melodies drift in and out of the hypnotic grooves on rivers of sound that could have soundtracked a star trek episode from the original series. 1700 miles is delicate and deep with a simple infectious vocal sample. don t be deceived though. when played on a club system the kick drum and bassline draw you in while the atmospheric elements send the listener to otherworldly places. we feel rather privileged as this track is mark’s first solo outing from dotb under his new moniker “caramelli” and dotbs first full length on all day i dream. mark’s back in the band for memories of the future which completes the release with its funky bass and trippy ambience. close your eyes and be transported.

dam swindle cap off a blazing summer as they return home to their own heist recordings and in doing so present a landmark 12inch to add to their blooming catalogue. this is their first addition to the label since the hugely successful in reverse ep and it comes as a package that fans both old and new will relish: a jubilant record melding the most groove­laden strands of disco, funk, soul and house.
