deep down slams first 2014 release is a collaboration between london based producer mikki funk who already made a name to himself releasing on labels like say ahh & milf and should be already known to many of you and berlin based producer peer du who makes his debut.

when luke solomon got in touch and said he wanted to work with local talk we felt both honoured and happy, especially since we have been fans for a long time and mats actually booked him to his raw fusion club in the late 90s. he has been around long enough to be considered a legend within the scene. we couldnt agree more. lost channels, a 130 bpm piano driven and punk-dubby new york inspired house track comes in two versions. the raw & stripped version is exactly what the name says, sharp snares & hi-hats, piano chords, a driving rhythm with lukes trademark percussion sprinkled on top. the live piano version is actually the original version and is peppered with more of everything. bubbly fx, more of that staccato piano and of course that muscular bassline. for remix duties it is the return of an old local talk friend, wil maddams. it seems like wil has spent some time in detroit since last time. this remix sounds like something that would come straight out of the d, his clever drum programming holds this track together with its deep pads and bubbling bassline. it is a retro (but fresh) techno jam for 2014.

one more heavy hitter on credo, and this time we could even say two tracks that form an ep as strond as the so far most sold credo-release from 2007 - bullet in your heart. the name tells already some connection to australia and indeed the basic idea came up during alex tour down under in fall 2012 where he played three cities within three days and a total of 9h playtime for which he travelled 64h in total. sydney acid is the main track of the ep, no doubt and hard to describe. it is a pure, driven technotrack with a fierce, no blubby, but very powerful acid bassline aiming at riots on the dancefloor. melbourne dub tells exactly what the track is all about and by the way featuring the sound of the local traffic lights that made alex thinking about creating some tracks related to it.

the first release sees the dj producer going head to head with bong ra in a collaboration that is just too much. it starts off with >the abominable<, a track that is insane in every way. heavy hardcore kicks combined with destructive jungle breaks is something only this duo can combine! sitting firm on the edge of hardcore, breakcore and dnb like only these 2 can. >bloodclot techno< is something totally different.. this one focusses more on the jungle/break core side of things but combined with almost terminator esque vibes. definably an epic production if there ever was one!

as much as track names end up being slightly more than tags and guidelines for searches in the digital era of music in which we live today, the name of the title track says a lot about the intentions behind the artwork. in the case of >the classic age<, it can be considered a homage to the influences that nourished rotcivs career throughout the past years.

on sat002 lovework/decisions, black light smoke shows off his pop sensibilities with two sing-a-long summer anthems-in-the-making. lovework is a no-wave-inspired ditty littered with catchy analog synths, an ass-shakin bassline and reverbed claps juxtapozed with a haunting processed vocal from the producer himself that repeats, >you made a mess of my head. now i gotta put it all back together. theres nothing to say, over and over…< which is how this tune will be playing in your head after one listen. on the flip we get a taste of black light smoke in deep house mode with decisions, a lustrous and vibey joint that features a sweeter vocal by suavecito, a new guise of dj/producer and vocalist who is well known by another name. here more analog synths produce wickedly buoyant bass lines and swirling pads that combine with bubbly piano stabs and little vocal sample/edits for what sounds like it could have been a naked music release had the label been operating in 1990.

tommy walker 3 has been hiding for a while now, after releasing a slew of material in 2008 (including a release on the sadly defunct dissident). now hes back with >dance music clubbing<, and with a name like this youd probably expect this ep to either be a bit off the wall, or unintentionally awful. we are glad to say it fits into the former category, offering an ep of colourful elastic space disco mixed with a more classic vibe. opener >disconnected< sets the tone with its 80s, verging on hair metal guitar riffs. >mwj1< impresses with its almost seinfeld-esque slap bass, and synth piano stabs while >errational< is characterised by its wonky synth melody and spaced-out laser gurgles. finally >v brains< melds driving live bass with huge slabs of cosmic squelch. if you like your disco fierce, this will definitely be worth a look

lazydisco is a project of fred oliveira of rockets fame. after getting playlisted by names like alan braxe, duck sauce, a-trak, treasure fingers, aeroplane or in flagranti, fred decided it was time to explore something a little different from his regular house antics. so in 2010, lazydisco was born. describing the typical lazydisco track is a hard endeavour, although some might resort to just using the word sexy. things can get crafty behind the analog synths, the keyboards and the occasional live drums. lazydisco is influenced by many things and many people. often relaxed, often dirty - like life, one might say. “more tigers” is lazydisco?s debut ep, out on discotexas. remixers include in flagranti, c90s, xinobi, mirror people and mode. a highly anticipated release, which can already be heard in clubs (and pool parties) worldwid

once again, with spring, comes another addition to vakants fruitful and ever expanding family. we welcome the man formally known as cesare vs. disorder, for the first time releasing under his given name cesare marchese. in such a short period of time, cesare has amassed quite a discography and legion of fans around the world who follow him wherever he goes. yet another formally trained musician in the vakant camp, cesares music has progressed a great deal since his first release in 2006. every release drips with more and more depth and melody. his aether ep debut for vakant yet again proves why cesares accent is unstoppable. while just a 4 track ep, the aether ep covers much ground spanning afterhour afternoons to indie influenced incorrigibility, but always with that certain kink and freak that comes from a background of techno and global trotting nightlife revelry. to say deep and freaky would not be enough. to say anything would not be enough. these are tracks that must be experienced and not written about. from complete house electronics, to altered acoustic uplifts, to deep orbit accents, its all here courtesy of our new sicilian cesare
