nice price deal !!! the g man returns to his phoenix g home with a somewhat special album release. where the usual mr.g sound is still present on this 2x12 inch lp, night on the town showcases gs more adventurous works and exposes some of his more exotic influences. african rhythm sections, hints to ebm and low tempo chugs make this album very actual yet unique.

the a-side starts with a driving beat, over which sultry chords hang and build. the introduction of a spirited vocal loop gives the track a more melancholic feel, all underpinned by a great bassline that ensures the track never loses its soul, depth and funk. on the flip, * buff zenky* heads into much tougher territory. the track builds with thumping kicks and those trademark * g* hats, along with a chopped vocal, tight looping bass and swinging claps. a sparse but highly effective layered synth completes a cold-blooded package - perfect for those late nights and early mornings. an excellent first release for made in soho, displaying a thoroughly current approach whilst never forgetting the deep, soulful veins that run through its racks.

a special record originated from a special day. mr. gs spree to detroits movement festival ended at the notorious need i say more? matinee. held yearly in the backyard of the reputable veterans club the old miami and helmed by a promoters crew named visionquest it cultivates debauchery and fine music. back home, mr. g produced these two tracks with two djs in mind. unsurprisingly, they stroke the mind of djs. heavy bass, mean percussion, double bass, walkie talkie voices! what do you need more?

mr. g continues his legacy with a hard hitting 12 inch which entirely covers the broad spectrum of true house music. while the a1 track starts out a little sinister it still evolves into a lush ambiance. this sourishly vibe changes continue throughout the release. another top notch mr.g effort which shouldnt be missed.
phoenix g. ferm and deep kickdrums that are being accompanied by lengthy chords and a frequently return male vocal that states, bounce. all and all this is the dancefloor music we are used to from mr.g. the a2 brings a more technoish vibe to dance to. this fits perfect in the modern trend of bass producers turning techno. while of course g is somewhat more of a legend and he didnt just turn to this type of music recently. it does proove that he is still abel to catch any kind of vibe to get the people moving. on the b1 we find a ben sims remix. which of course is enough said. mr sims turns the a2 original into an absolute floor wrecker.
mr gs forthcoming effort on the phoenix g imprint is somewhat of a dark one. with crazy amounts of white noise processed as hats and some of the fattest kicks youll ever hear, this is definitely one of those acey warehouse releases that will fit perfect in the modern trend of raw but touching house.
