echocords colour sub-label continues this november with sephs teleport ep, featuring three originals from the argentinian producer. buenos aires born producer sebastian gelante aka seph has been kicking up a storm in the techno world since the turn of the millennium releasing material on labels such as dumb unit, harry klein, items & things, his own aula magna imprint and now he joins the echocord roster on sub-label echocord colour following recent releases from luke hess and stephen brown. across the teleport ep seph delivers his signature smooth, dubbed out and intricate style and&#8232,,,,the title-track takes the lead with billowing pads, bumpy off kilter rhythms and choppy stab sequences galore before delta strips back the vibe to raw drums and murky synth textures while ethereal pads ebb and flow through the composition. motion rounds out the package on the flip side, taking a straighter approach rhythmically this time round to allow the snaking dub stabs, rumbling low-end tones and evolving hats to take the lead throughout.

next up on asking for trouble after selling out the album and re-pressing comes a four track remix ep for radioactive man�s luxury sky garden album. life-time friend of radioactive man and control tower partner dexorcist aka simon brown is first up to deliver his take on �sonic portal� on the a side. his style has always been uncompromising and as a music lover and dj he s been a major influence on tenniswood�s style and taste for a long time. dexorcist turns in a detroit influenced banger which goes deep. ben pest then follows with his own take of the same track. a member of funk band pest, purveyor of wonky techno, music tech teacher and hardware enthusiast ben has also released on jerome hill�s don t� label, i love acid and horror boogie to name a few. his take on �sonic portal� is as genre bending and weighted as you�d expect. over on the b side pain struck stanley dumb remix �blast furnace� - a fast and furious electro track which was released as a digital bonus to the album. they work it into a breakneck speed techno number. taste the amphetamine! completing the package biggabush (aka glyn bush) brings his dub influence to the mix. bush of rockers hi-fi connected with radioactive man during a mastering session asking to do the mix after hearing the record. the results are impressive and provide a welcome tempo and vibe change to the ep with its deep and dubby elements.

�control� is the first release on jeff derringer�s new label, oktave records. the smartbar resident takes his chicago techno event to the next level with this new label offering. jeff supplies the sounds for this first record, which continues his impressive run of releases on esteemed labels such as soma, electric deluxe and perc trax. this time out, jeff delivers immediate dance floor action with the a-side, �control�, a driving, intense affair with jeff�s trademark heavy kick and mutating sub bass. on the flip, jeff introduces an ambient re-working of his 2010 track �tarantula�, as well as the blissed-out, dub laden affair �touch disease�. the record and the label represent a new depth of commitment to the oktave mission and sound, with upcoming releases to feature respected producers like iori, giorgio gigli and more. stay tuned for further developments from oktave records.

a kind of intimate scrapbook of the startling collaboration between the techno maestro and this long-standing musical collective based in bishkek, devoted to the roots music of kyrgyzstan. loose-leaved but balanced, lucid and intimate, it sets out from stunning a cappella and virtuosic komuz and kylak, mouth harp and traditional percussion: not field, but expert studio recordings, using marvellous vintage microphones, made over several days in berlin. further, a few of these are deftly treated by moritz, using reichian de-synced double-tracking, and discreet effects. also two ten-minute dubs: a deadly, signature berlin steppers, plus its version and an echoing, mystical drum session, recorded live on stage in bishkek. and a side-long, dream-like summation: the locomotive, oceanic, clangorous, dread facets. ravishing, rooted, searching music, beautifully presented.

code 718 aka iconic nyc dj danny tenaglia dropped this e2-e4 riffing classic back in the mists of 1992. manuel göttsching s original track would have been a staple of nyc clubs back then and would have featured in the warm up sets of jocks like tenaglia who favoured the longer, deeper sets as well as on the play-lists of institutional night-spots such as the loft and the garage. the track s influence on a whole era of dj s and producers that followed is immeasurable and across 3 sublime mixes tenaglia distills the magic of the original into something totally nyc and club-friendly without losing any of the göttsching magic, even managing to sprinkle a little grace jones in the mix with her fabulous i floated on a cloud vocal sample liberally applied. equinox takes us on a trip that is emotive, uplifting and warm. this is how house music is meant to sound, respectfully steeped in what preceded it yet moving forward in a fresh direction. another example of how on the money strictly rhythm were in their early days, classic after classic rolled out of the labels offices and us, the record buying legions, were / are better off for it! this one s a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 3 mixes, unedited, as per the original release way back when. do not sleep.

umeko ando (1932-2004) was a folk singer from japan. she is a representative of the ainu culture on the hokkaido island in the north of japan. iuta upopo was released on her last cd upopo sanke in 2003, produced by oki kano (oki dub ainu band). upopo is the name of a particular singing style which involves repetition, while iuta simply means song. umeko ando performs this minimalistic vocal in a brittle, emotional manner which is framed by a slow, percussive pulse and oki�s tonkori patterns (the tonkori is a string instrument of the ainu). when pingipung�s andi otto toured japan in 2017, he came across this enchanting, folkloristic and danceable song in a dj set of a friend. he made contact with oki kano who agreed to license the track from his own label chikar studio. it is pressed on vinyl for the first time. this single is part of pingipung�s ongoing concentrical series of 7inches. we are very pleased to have a m.rux remix on the b side. he is not only a brilliant original producer, as his ep in the hold (ynfnd 2016) has proved, his claim to fame is a sublime collection of edits & cuts (for free on his bandcamp) which skillfully takes classics by nina simone, townes van zandt and others to the slowhouse dancefloor. his remix adds a gliding subbass, a kickdrum and occasional claps to the enhanced percussive structures of the original. umeko ando�s vocals adapt seamlessly to m.rux�s powerful electronic production

rekids celebrates 10 years of radio slave�s �grindhouse� with remixes from len faki, slam, obscure shape & shdw, vatican shadow, markus suckut, lady starlight and special request. first appearing on a release as part of radio slave�s iconic �no sleep� series, �grindhouse� spawned multiple remixes from the likes of dubfire, danton eeprom, terrance fixmer and nic fanciulli to become one of the biggest techno records since its original release. to commemorate this fact, len faki has produced two different reinterpretations in the first of four heavyweight remix packages.
�i didn�t plan to go back to grindhouse. it�s a monster of a record and undoubtedly the biggest release we�ve had on the label, but after 10 years it seems right to revisit the track and also add some new versions from some of my favourite techno producers.- � radio slave with danton eeprom�s vocal resonating throughout, faki�s first remix features crunchy snares, ominous chords and shuffling effects before piercing synths come into effect in the latter half. meanwhile, the second version rumbles forward with its undulating bassline, soaring atmospherics and echoing elements to round up two solid productions exemplary of the figure founder�s seasoned abilities in the studio.

delsin records inertia series is back with a powerful four tracker from yan cook. the producer from ukraine has also released delsin s main label and associated ann aimee, as well as planet rhythm and cooked. he makes straight up techno that arrests your attention and does just that again here. toucan is first and is a spangled, underwater techno track with gurgling lines wrapping round shuffling percussion and insistent drums. it s one to get into your head, while puffin is more physical, with more warped synths and paddy drums woven together into a fluid, rippling groove that never lets up. the drums on dialogue are deep and land with real resonance while dubby chords rattling out to the horizon. last of all flamingo is the most manic of the lot, with hi speed synths and booming drums all coming together to make for powerful, sub shaking and room filling techno madness.

in physics, entropy is a quantity generally described as the measure of disorder within any kind of thermodynamic system, including the universe. it counts the microscopic states that system can assume when open, interacting with others or getting altered by external conditions.
thus, entropy makes for the perfect description of the way ilpo väisänen (pan sonic, i- lp-o in dub) and dirk dresselhaus (schneider tm, a s s, locust fudge) have approached music creation since the establishment of their collaborative project angel (now die angel) in 1999. allowing energy to flow freely through machines, bodies and different acoustic conditions, they�ve generated a powerful archive of mutating sonic states. a kind of creative attitude that favors exploring the physical complexity of unstructured electronics.
that�s where the title for their first release on cosmo rhythmatic comes from, �entropien� being the finnish word and the german plural for entropy. getting back to the stripped down set of their beginnings (modular synths, effects, and processed guitar), they�ve come out with one of their most, intense, rawest and noisiest albums to date, showcasing an impressing scale of dynamics while attacking the senses with belligerent tones. oren ambarchi also shows up on two tracks, intertwining his drums, field recording, and guitar within the duo�s discordant layers.

limited to 300 copies! following his recent releases on tartelet records and oye, uffe kicks off the nos classics label with a record consisting of three mutated disco tracks that marks the start of his own new copenhagen-based label. run together with fellow tartelet affiliates vktr and jeppe wolmer (of vivian international) the first records a-side is a dubbed out percussive testament to the darkest and saddest times of uffe s life. a2 is a melodic and dreamy homage to one certain apartement located on the lijnbaangracht in the jordaan area in amsterdam. on the top floor of this worn down old house there was light to be found in these dark times. on the flip-side tings gets trippy. the title track finds uffe deeply intertwined in an occult-like bass-heavy ritual. an attempt to escape reality and cure the scandinavian misanthropy and the grey weather it comes with. a twelve minute voodoo disco tool perfectly crafted for a dancefloor which most probably does not exist.

french producer okain has long been entrenched in the minimal house movement, from time spent on four:twenty and tsuba through to memoria, no fit state and now shoring up on dogmatik. babylon is a sharply focused workout with playful organ trills darting in and out of the mix, while radio therapy gets into a light-headed, bubbly state of mind thanks to some shimmering synth work. permeable drops a little dubby magic on the track and r4r5r6 finishes the ep off with a more muscular groover for when you need to keep the energy up on the dancefloor.

sometimes a year becomes 20, and this is the case with jesper bellfrog rydbergs second coming on borft records since his debut in 1997. as dj jespha galore, he is a super solid dj arranger and inspiration on the swedish electronic scene since mid 90s. and hailing from borft records friendtown helsingborg this record differs a bit from the traditional karlskrona sound and goes into softer territory with classic acidhouse sounds and friendly melodic funky electronic disco, at times almost bordering to italian pouch pouch vibes with shiny cars and prosecco. buy doubles and you got a cool little set bordering between acidhouse and electronic disco. / joakim cosmo

london based disco outfit faze action team up with celebrated anglo/brazilian artist, nina miranda for proto house crossover. faze action have always managed to take different musical traditions and blend them to create sounds that are somehow familiar whilst simultaneously containing the unexpected. last year s mangwana, featured long time faze action collaborator, zeke manyika, singing in his native zimbabwean shona over faze action s infectious disco production. this time, british/brazilian singer, artist and all round creative force de majeur, nina miranda, takes things further with her invitation to vamos pintar or let s paint, in portuguese. on the surface there is the familiar faze action restyled proto house but it soon becomes apparent that the brothers have appropriated more than just a brazilian vocal. punchy 808 drums and fizzy synths are infused with brazilian caixa and pandaro as if they had always been designed to co-exist. the remixes come from the illustrious max essa, whose british born/tokyo resident background chimes well with the international nature of this latest offering. his slo-mo bubble dub simmers with mediterranean sun that reclines into romantic piano flourishes and dubbed out vocals, whilst the extended dub manages to draw out the original elements at their original tempo. faze action s own paradise 90 dub closes the package by keeping close to the original arrangement with added economy and plenty of dub delay of course.

this june session victim returned to delusions of grandeur imprint with their third studio album. listen to your heart is the result of a year of cross-continental scripting, started in their hamburg studio and wrapped up stateside in san francisco�s room g studios where the duo had worked on their 2014 lp see you when you get there. here we present the third of three lp samplers containing four tracks each, cut nice and loud for the vinyl crew.
we kick things off with almost midnight, another uplifting summer jam loaded with trademark session victim energy and positive vibrations. next up we have castle for sale which drops the bpm�s for a dub influenced, spaced out jam session sounding like king tubby and nightmares on wax getting stuck in the proverbial lift with a large bong for company.
flipping over we have a head over heels, which goes heavy on the lush orchestral strings and a brilliant bouncing moog bassline bringing a deft touch. finally we�re treated to thermal explorer, which incorporates some wonderful larry heard-esque keyboards for a perfect wind-down track to close the release.

marlon hoffstadt is a rising star as both a dj and producer, effortlessly joining the dots between classic rave and the future of techno. taking a break from running his retrograde label, marlon has cooked up observing the known for ransom note records. over three tracks of warm synths, bubbly acid and emotional chord progressions, the ep sees marlon reimagining house music for todays dancefloor, taking the passion and energy of �80s chicago and giving it the production heft of 2017 berlin. opener �floating� is a piano house classic, shot through with chimes and 303 gurgles, nostalgic for a golden age whilst optimistically looking forward. this is peak time house for dancefloors with heart. it�s followed by the computerised funk of �arp+�, an acid house roller that teams jacking 303 bass with mournful strings, as sorrowful as it is uplifting. b-side opener �batavus� is a driving tribute to detroit, kevin saunderson-esque keys stabbing over soaring washes of synth, the sound of late nights and starry eyes. london-based scott fraser has added a remix of arp+ that takes marlons classic techno to darker lands, with snapping electro drums and deliberately seasick bass pressure ramping up the claustrophobia. this mix has already been causing huge damage when dropped on dubplate at fraser�s feted body hammer night.

on his third outing with la vinyl imprint into the woods, producer / selector jimmy maheras fuses the sounds of detroit and los angeles together for a release that continues in the spirit of warehouse inspired techno, house, and electro that germinates from his monthly into the woods party series hosted with mor elian.
the title track, �the odyssey of flight 33,� bubbles up with dubbed chords and stabs that float and wobble over a clap and tom ride fit for 3am. �nightsong� follows the formula in spirit but percolates with punchy drums and stabs. finishing out the release is a full bodied basic soul unit remix of �odyssey� that beefs up and pitches down the chords and drives a heavy rhythm into a wall of sound tinged with hypnotic dystopia.

for the first single from rooteo & mahura�s mett album and our second release on made in green records, we present the standout sincrotune, backed with a heavier interpretation of dub techno mastermind and legend deadbeat. one of the album�s most memorable and experimental pieces, sincrotune transports tinges of the eastern influences from the full-length into a more exploratory mindset, ricocheting bells and detuned, bending string samples moving through layers of alien ambiance and a steady, heavy bass pulse at dancefloor tempo pushing it forward forcefully.

the latest installment on roam recordings features nozz aka damon jee aka jérôme da silva. most known as damon jee for his widely acclaimed remixes, jérôme has been branching out with outstanding originals under his nozz alias. in his misfits ep for roam nozz delivers two excellent new productions. the title track is a cool rock infused guitar laden stunner with class and attitude while hippy home is a dreamer of a tune perfect for greeting the sun or losing yourself in a closed eyed dance session. the misfits ep comes with two top remixes from the emperor machine and autarkic. the first remix is a tour de force performance with a sound that is unmistakably the emperor machine � intricate, dubbed out, lasers, and superb production. autarkic s version of hippy home adds an eclectic edge to the ep with a cacophony of orchestral and quirky sounds that somehow perfectly keep in line with the stripped down feel of this remix. the misfits ep brings together three artists at the top of their game and is a fine addition to the ever growing roam recordings catalog.

london-based artist silverlining continues his vinyl series with a reissue of one of his most sought-after tracks, breezin thru. first released in 1998, the track is now almost 20 years old and has stood the test of time with second-hand prices soaring to l70 and over, and current supporters including apollonia and secretsundaze. the flip features a remix of andy blake and dave cokers doodlebug project, with tinges of 80s electro, west coast breaks and old school deep house, all fused together for big systems.

on top of running his highly respected hope works event series in the north of england, lo shea�s reputation as a producer is unquestionable, with recent years seeing the sheffield-based artist appear on credible imprints such as phonica, never learnt, sze, transit and dext recordings.
metallic percussion is blended with growling bass in �let�s roll� before introducing spooky synths to generate a mesmerising aesthetic. energetic breakbeat drums and intricate melodies then forge �tundish� before thor reinterprets �let�s roll� by sucking you into a dub techno vortex, stripping shards off the original that cascade whilst driving you into an abyss.
