electronic pop act penelope is the second release on fellow swede pjotr’s label. backed up by remixes from roger 23 and physical therapy, the band offers three dystopian pop songs spanning from futuristic, villainous r&b to trance filled breakbeat ending with a guitar based ballad - all songs being infected by penelope’s machiavellian lusting vocals.
roger 23 delivers two versions of the title track, the first a forceful chi-town beat adventure with raw outer space chords (including full original vox), the second a reduced effective piercing dub straight from the outer sphere. physical therapy closes with a psychedelic version of “rattlesnake” built around hard-hitting tribal drums.

the first release on red curls is by new york band bottoms, “my body” is a noisy acid punk house affair complete with live drums and a haunting original vocal by the band’s lead singer jake dibeler. on the flipside the original track also comes reworked in a slamming version by kassem mosse, who also contributed two more playful edits to complete the package. free download codes included.

very limited 10- release! new electro talent rolando simmons delivers two charged remixes of penelope’s “what i gotta do” as the follow up to their debut ep on redcurls. simmons starts out with a gushing yet dreamy electro version of wigd, complete with shattering snares and claps, keeping lush chords and whirling vocal samples firmly in place.
the b-side hears a slower perhaps more seductive side of roland taking on the title track. a pulsating bass line leads you into an intimate room of sound filled with warm breath sand possessed vocals, complimented and caressed by a slinking synth melody, spun in mystery by the help of careful harp strings. download code included.
