for the first reference, sounds of the city is happy to welcome the mysterious spirit of the black 808, responsible for one of the hottest pieces of wax in 2013 for eargasmic recordings in chicago. invasion of the black bass is also following the eargasmic record in terms of style. it s warm in every way and infectious. let s get invaded with invasion of the black bass and invasion of the black house. both tracks share the same chords grid, one could be a reinterpretation of the other. both are very warm and melodic. frenzy in firenze on the other side demonstrates sb8s skills for groovy tools and more dj oriented tunes.

marking its 11th release, leicester-based label city fly welcome philpot regular tim toh to its already impressive roster spanning dj nature, fred p, andres, medlar and basic soul unit. the berlin artist is also renowned for his works on the likes of ornaments music, delusions of grandeur and mild pitch, and his idiosyncratic vision of electronic music is one shared with the discerning minds behind city fly. ‘endlessly’ is a track that melds interlinking rhythms with vocal snippets before easing in to a beautiful rhodes sequence containing all the hallmarks of an absolute floor filler. ‘everything’ then features the beautiful vocals of ranavalona to engineer a track dripping with pure soul, making way for a remix from thatmanmonkz that focuses on rhythm whilst boiling the piece down to a slice of timeless house. finally ‘expectations’ is a number exhibiting toh’s avant-garde approach to music production whilst still focusing squarely on the dancefloor.

welcome to the dark side. where chaos is the constant, distortion forms the standard and frontiers are built out of opaque shadows. mumbling voices are hunting you through a maze of creepy synthesizer sounds. welcome to antifuse. with their latest release, the berlin-based duo nerkkirn are following their path of experimental techno sounds, this time leading into dark shades of whirring electronic sounds. by creating a gloomy, yet groovy tune, antifuse builds up a perfectly conductive path within the unique sound system of snork enterprises. like a mysterious rollercoaster, four versatile tracks are pulling you into a vague ride through various spheres of electronic sounds. starting off with high speed into the deep and gloomy mines of underground techno, dipode unfolds its dark side in full blast. moving forward, antifuse chases you upside down on a roaring bass line merging into electronichangover. there, in a reduced atmosphere of sound, subtle tunes still forcefully keep pushing you through an odd darkness until everything, then, flows into a slight glow at the end of the tunnel - reversebias.

for our seventh excursion into sound, we bring you 2 weapons from different sides of the globe, but with a common theme.
we welcome to the label two extremely talented sound sculptors from mexico, kaban & di rugerio. both boast a string of innovative sounds released on some top notch labels, but here they have teamed up to bring us something really special. *overflow* is a swirling nemesis of a track, with crashing drums and tribal percussion flowing around huge electrical pulses that inject pure energy into the dancefloor.
boom merchant follows up last years hugely successful *stars/green symphony* with another perfect balance of rhythmic and melodic elements. *surge* is a track that always generates a huge reaction, built around a tight groove with plenty of action in the low end. it is literally smeared with electrical charge and doused in layers of harmonic goodness.

discobar is coming back with a french addition to the label, based in paris and the third part of the trio antislash. we welcome toba, our dear friend who has signed an original ep for the 2nd release on discobar. we can definitely hear the techno minimal sounds with a touch of deepness. baptiste veilhan aka toba shows us his universe with more than 10 years of experience behind him in production with the trio antislash. this will be his first apparition in solo.

italian born federico costantini is now a close member of the hell yeah family having released a number of eps on the label before now. here, for the first time, he steps out with a full-length album project that really showcases his style across nine great tracks.

as big fans of red axes, were happy to welcome niv and dori to the label. their first release for hivern is pil sagol, a three-track ep that features some of their most adventurous material to date. the title track is a slice of shamanic house full of playful melodies, dripping textures and steady rhythms that result in the sonic equivalent of psychotropic trip through the jungle. me and abra in ruanda drops the tempo but keeps the mind-expanding effect with its mangled brass sounds and ceremonious pads. todum todum is the most dance floor-driven cut of the ep, building tension through distorted toms, reverberant claps and an unrelenting bass line whilst keeping the narcotic vibe of the whole release through highly enchanting cosmic melodies. the 12inch comes in a captivating sleeve by barcelona-based designer xavier marin.

we are deeply proud of all our music here at hizou. our latest release, however, we believe is just that little bit special. because we welcome to the label a producer we much admire and also proudly call our friend, w & p hgg aka hugo giner, owner of the formidable cornuta sound imprint. and his ep, down for heaven, is notable also for marking the debut of a new partnership, the sons of empire, otherwise known as those two masters of the deep, ernie from minuendo recordings and dubbyman of deep explorer. it is giner’s unique soul, however, that takes centre stage with side one devoted entirely to its 13 minutes of glorious, irresistible and uplifting house odyssey. on the reverse comes welcome, a chunkier though equally hypnotic slab of sly deepness, ably supported by the sons of empire remix which takes the track to a more chilled and, dare we say, funkier celestial plane.
