crossing returns with cracking and dreamy techno from pfirter, avion, doka and stefan rein. the label from avion strikes with its 7th installment releasing a package of 4 new techno slices from different producers showing what crossing stands for. the release starts with ‘sut‘ a track from the argentinian producer pfirter which creates an outer atmosphere with its pad, surrounding percussions and space running frequencies carried by this straight deep bass drum. a beauty. avion doesn’t take any captives and kicks the floor with a never ending trip of industrial percussions, noises, a heavy drum and a groove that will grab and never leave you. an explosive killer. for doka time is running in a different way. his ‘mural‘ comes with a melancholic bassline and rhythmic drum work to bring this imaginery painting from the wall into notes. surreal but true techno. stefan rein is closing the release with a bang. the ‘amorphous material‘ will never get tired and brings with metallic snares, hats and rides a kick’in weapon which includes a synth pad that will give you a smile in every moment you hear it. a clear definition of techno and its madness.
crossing back on the floor. avion delivers 2 new techno slices packed with mastermind remixes by tripeo and blind observatory. the release starts with the ‘intro‘ which brings up the mood of the record with futuristic signal bleeps and a warm analogue pad surrounded by kicking and stuttering percussions. the original of ‘centum‘ starts slowly to bring up heavy bassline surrounded by bright noises and alternating noise swirl verbed to voices highlighting partial explosions to end with bleep and soft strings. crossing 006 this time welcomes two fantastic artists as remixer and lays down ‘centum‘ to tripeo and blind observatory for their re-‐,,interpretation. tripeo stays on the rough and kicking side of techno and delivers with his interpretation packed with the original strings and an analogue synth noise accompanied by a straight drumwork and cutted hi hats a kicking weapon for the floor. the myterious blind observatory takes the vibe of the original and pumped it with an acid bass to create a parallel universe built by dreamy strings highlighting the rides to lose control in the perfect moment. a real dancefloor killer.

please welcome frankfurts very own einzelkind as the latest addition to our artist pool. his first single 12inch contribution for cocoon recordings seems to be endless and gets nicely spiced up with hypnotic vocal elements and discoide space sounds. free savioni already made the terrace floor on one of our cocoon ibiza nights move big time. it actually had such a strong impact that we immediately had to sign it after einzelkind played it! aya curanderito on the flip side sounds like a late night party deep in the forest witch trolls dancing around a fire, this is deep shamanic business with a slight villalobos touch (no wonder as the two joined forces before for some other releases already). cool and trippy, something for the long nighs at the infamous robert johnson club or berlins panoramabar. welcome se±or einzelkind!

the fifth instalment of the hoxton records story turns to alan castro, who has already had a busy year appearing on the likes of for club, stamp and soundterasse. the vibe is stripped down and unhinged on this record, with lead track el avion de la mentira unfurling in a strange tapestry of samples, found sounds and off kilter synth rubs strapped to a crafty set of drums. modebaku delivers a more streamlined version of the track that keeps things freaky, but much more linear than the wayward original. sequela on the flip is no slouch in the adventurous department either, with swathes of modulating tones and wild sonic matter flinging around a funky shuffle, which ted amber then dutifully bolsters with a rubbery b-line on his more functional but still daring version
CROSSING 008 (INCL THOMAS HESSLER / NORMAN NODGE / RON ALBRECHT / THE AUTOMATIC RMXS)
12" Vinyl D01.12.16
huge remix package with works from thomas hessler, norman nodge, ron albrecht and the automatic message. the label from avion strikes with its 8th installment releasing a kicking remix package from the previous crossing 007 various artists. the release starts with the thomas hessler remix of “sut“ a track from the argentinian producer pfirter. thomas used the outer atmosphere bringing it to an upper tempo defining a groove made for the floors. norman nodge and his minimal trip from avion’s explosive track “thrill“. flimmering noises, a reduced drum and an atmosphere which is between lunatic and melancholic warmth. in ron albrechts remix of doka’s “mural“ the time is still running different, staying surreal wthout losing ist mood kicking off to move the floor. the automatic message lay their hands on stefan rein’s “amorphous material“ and stripped down the punchy and jacking atmosphere to a reduced version without losing its functionality and highlighting the characteristic synth pad to remain the smile factor of the original track.
LANTARCTIQUE / AUTRES SEANCES ELECTRONIQUES RUE DE COURCELLES (2X12 INCH LP)
coloured 2x12" Vinyl NL03.12.15
repress in blue vinyl !! the late french soundtrack composer (1939-1975) was one of the first to use frequency modulators on an 8 track homestudio. he was known for his melodic works mixing electronic & acoustic. his oeuvre has been sampled by many. this release devotes a posthumous work composed for a cousteau documentary which was refused, probably beacuse it was too avant-garde. on the second disc youll find different tasty style-exercises that show to what extend roubaix manipulated the modulators with ingenuity.
black dog is a more than fitting title for the debut ep from untzz twelve inch cofounder babicka, a record that presents a brooding and intelligent trio of minimalist tools, made for mixing. the uk born, now fully fledged australian resident maintains a raw and dark energy synonymous with his name since breakthrough track zero (the one). this debut ep is a noteworthy addition to babickas growing reputation as one of australias best selectors and future talents.
NIK WESTON PRESENTS TWO SIDES OF CLUB JAZZ (7 INCH)
7" Vinyl UK02.12.14
two sides of club jazz does exactly what it says on the tin. two club fillers from italy & japan. first up it is a moment of funky modal madness from legendary bologna pianist marco di marco: *par avion* is a seminal jazz classic as championed by the likes of gilles peterson, nicola conte & patrick forge. swinging, floor-focussed foot-shoving, between the three elements (slink double bass, subtly brushed drums and marcos piano narrative) it is a timeless example of jazzs most alluring party guise. for the flipside we fast forward for a lush, lounge-languishing slice of smoky broken beat drama from jazz collective via tokyo japan with their masterpiece and charismatic *velvet* with an exclusively recorded version for mukatsuku records.
p.o.s. returns with never better, february 3rd on rhymesayers. it?s the follow-up to 2006?s critically acclaimed audition. most of p.o.s? new album was written in a moving car. on it, he raps at full-clip to ride rolling drums and revving distortion. there?s an urgency that he keeps in careful check, and then unleashes for spring-loaded verses that represent his best work. p.o.s built his reputation as an innovator, with an unlikely punk rock past and expressive, honest content. he re-earns the accolades with every release. his records capture his charisma-they?re driving and sincere, the dark moments counterbalanced by some giggling banter with the engineer. on never better, the new disc, he conjures get-away cars, racing chariots, the pursuit of sirens, and the occasional rueful nighttime drive.
p.o.s. himself made more than half of the beats on never better, and the production bears his unmistakable signature. the album enters a room like bombshell with a black eye-badass, noisy, impossible to ignore. feedback and relentless drum rolls are only occasionally tempered by sung choruses and clean, chiming guitar lines. some critics will be eager to categorize the album as a hybrid-some kind of crossover project. but it?s probably not. p.o.s is a rapper with range, he?s a real musician and an unstoppable performer. for him, genres are as they ever were: permeable.
15 years nordstern by shlomi aber nordstern is switzerlands most prestigious underground club and a 3 times winner for switzerlands best club at the swiss nightlife awards. this year nordstern celebrates its 15th anniversary, with a rough techno mix cd by our long time friend and club favourite shlomi aber.
the debut album by the trio stabil elite combines glamor and emotion and cosmic transcendence, which is well aware of its musical heritage, yet does not seem overly reflective for even a second. one can immediately hear where this stylish band comes from. just think of that city on the rhine, which has become a work of art in itself, and its electronic musical history, which has significantly influenced many styles, from hip-hop to techno: düsseldorf. the first signal stabil elite emitted to the world was in 2009, with the song hogans run, which appeared on a compilation by the american label mathematics.
this compilation is also the story of our parties since the beginning, of happy moments spent inparisian night-clubs, but of periods during when we were slaving away too...his compilation includes unforgettable tracks that flood andstick to your mind for ever!it would have been impossible to set up the compilation without the unconditional support of all the artists...a big thanks to everybody!
