little do people know that coober pedy is an opal rich town buried deep within the red and arid outback of south australia. lewie day (aka tornado wallace) and tom moore may be from melbourne, but the duo make up the coober pedy university band, coining the term krautback to describe this moon plain ep. drawing upon italo synths and mid-tempo balearica as inspiration, the first release comes in 10 form via soft rocks kinfolk label. the reverb washed australian crooner chet faker appears on the title track moon plain alongside heavy struck piano chords, while sentenced beyond the seas is a flow of groggy atmospheres and downtempo beats. oblong is the the eps stand out italo track with short bass arpeggios a highlight, while soft rocks acperience mix of moon plain takes on an acidic and space western theme.

unreleased egyptian jazz: 2x45s set in a unique hand-printed fold-open pyramid! four sides of previously-unreleased ethnic mythic mystic jazz from the legendary egyptian drummer! before the re-release of his album with the cairo jazz band recently, the name salah ragab was best known to jazz fans and record collectors by way of another lp that was recorded with sun ra in the early 70s. his album >prism music unit< with the cairo jazz band was released in egypt with another by the cairo free jazz ensemble, but perhaps only salah himself knew of the other songs he had recorded at the time, but didnt make it onto these lps. the tapes lurking for decades in an old trunk, its taken until now for them to see the light of day, and we present them here as four amazing pieces of egyptian jazz on 2 seven inch singles. entombed within a hand-printed, hand-made pyramid shaped box, this is the first time in 40 years that these recordings will have come to light. ladies and gentlemen, behold the splendor that is salah ragab and the cairo jazz band!

as we all know, there is a first time for everything. in this case, its even a debut for both: the tensnake co-run label mirau and iron curtis.

transmissions from the cyber dance imprint have been sporadic since its inception in 2005, but when they arrive they are always something very special indeed. ostensibly one of italo discos great lost producers, we suspect that bandidos gang may well be a nom de plume for one of the labels many associates. whatever their provenance, the tracks certainly sound like vintage italo, with >marinche< leading with a pulsating bass arpeggio and synth horn melody worthy of moroder, whilst the flemming dalum & steen gjerulff remix adds layers of vocoder and a variety of cosmic accents to its sturdy frame. >last train to tucamari< meanwhile takes a more languid approach, pulling in an opposite direction to the speeding train samples, whilst flemming dalum & mike saltas remix adds some guitar licks, hazy synth atmospherics and even a flute solo which just adds to the classic italo feel.

nice price deal !!! the bristol reggae explosion is back with a third volume. whilst still happily exploring what was happening in the city during the 1980s, they have bent the rules and included a lone track from 1979. if anything, this third volume is their strongest so far, an amazing achievement when you consider that most of the tracks are previously unreleased.

( acid music band ) decided to follow the way to acid music, inspired by the acid guru as virgo or tyree cooper and the first techno workers as underground resistance or juan atkins he produced two tracks only with analog instruments and acid attitude. acid music band sounds like an orchestra, the man is the music director and the machines are the players. we are young so we asked help from an old expert… directly from the chi-city, ricardo miranda contributed to create an overall ep with his fantastic boogie remix. old and young records.. we love acid too.
