gerd is delivering at the moment! after releases on clone royal oak, philpot, a big re-issue on rejected, great remixes on 4lux and delusions of grandeur its time for him to release on his own 4lux label! a massive chicago influenced track called h.o.u.s.e. featuring the voice of l.b. bad, the prince of dance music. this track was originally penned in 1994 when gerd had elbee over to tour the benelux. the track was released on an obscure limited edition white label only back then, but here a new rework of these old recordings. 2011 sees the track remixed by gerd himself and he takes the tune into rough & uncompromising analogue territory with filthy synth bassline and relentless tr808 action. seriously good track!! jakob korn, arttu and neville watson are on remix duty and deliver some fresh remix that complete this record. recommended!

this release is strongly recommended. the first record of the enlightened wax series is a fine blend of incandescent house and techno tracks, flaring through the darkness of the night. all the tracks are written, mixed, and produced without the use of any software. light 1 (6.14) is like a ray coming from a distant star: it is slow building up on a wide bass body rising from atmospherical pads. a deep house jam with a touch of hi-tech jazz . light 2 (4.51) scatters raw beats in the urban skyline. an old school piano sample in addition to a aggressive bass line are the foundation of the track. its a breath-taking piece at the furthest boundaries between techno and house. on side b, the delightful journey continues with light 3 (5.34) an hymn to the glorious past of dance music. solid beats, ground shaking low frequencies, joyful voices, soulful piano chords call up the assembly for a return of the shining days. light 4 (6.06) fuses garage sounds and techno attitude. its massive dubby base breaks through sonic barriers. a dancefloor striker

part two in the private pressing series of bottin! again crazy limited and extremely good! two hot tracks covering each one side with upbeat italo tracks that takes no prisoners! the funk driven aextacy on the a-side with its sexy vocals leaves not one girl on the side! on the flip there is teak lover with is pure italo drive and bouncing bassline and bombastic synths. disco just don t get much hotter then this. recommended!

the esteemed mr. nick chacona, he of moodmusic, hector works, and 2020 vision fame, makes his stunning solo debut on wurst. we reckon >slice of life< is the mans finest work to date, the culmination of the past decadeÆs worth of his most excellent musical output. taking in elements from both disco and house, the song fits quite neatly beween the two genres, with its slow burning groove, rich synth textures, and a soaring, ecstatic synth solo to end all synth solos.

mark seven is a secret weapon of nu disco or balearic house scene.his last single on twelve inches of delight was highly recommended and he was invited to al usher (half of partial arts)s hit track >lullaby for robert< as a remixer. >swept away< is an old school piano house track. its simple but effective, timeless stuff and >pillow talk< is 80s style electric boogie.

here a private pressing of 200 copies with some exciting works of mr bottin who is for sure one of the most active producers in the new disco umwelt this year! one super sweet and sexy track called sage oil. disco just dont get much hotter then this. flip side had a track called hot lizard which is a rawer and more masculine piece as many of us might know from the typical italian police series and horror movie scores from the late 70s and early 80s. recommended!

big with karotte, len faki, paco osuna, gregor tresher, hugo, laurent garnier and many more! amam is the new label from bright young italian producer alessio mereu, who has already made a name for himself releasing on labels like contexterrior, cmyk and toys for boys. while amams first release found alessio going solo, this time hes half the duo of pet soul boys alongside barcelona-based coyu -- you might have heard his productions and remixes that have appeared on diynamic, 2020 vision, liebe detail and saved. the debut psb single from earlier this year, >calypso soul< on hypnotone, was played by the likes of paul woolford, nick curly and italoboyz. not so bad for a couple of guys in their early 20s!

warehouse find . brand new release from levon vincent on his own novel sound label. limited edition, stamped white labels. this is a hot, hot 12 inch and we absolutely love it!!! a handful of releases on novel sound, decontruct music and his simply amazing recent remix for clone have forced everyone to recognize one of the biggest talents to come out of new york in recent years - levon vincent. >double jointed sex freak< is a dirty, stomping three track ep with deep and dubby elements, rough house beats and vocal repetitions that even remind us of some old chicago jack trax. needless to say this is highly recommended. tip!

from the studio of scott grooves... modified suede... music that you can feel. great selection of basic house tracks in the vein of his recent scott grooves release on clone (coco brown). this is a special tribute to clean simple rhythm tracks and scott grooves shows that being one of the first techno musicians on the planet doesnt have to mean that the passion for pure dance music has to disappear after so many years in the music bizz. excellent collection of tracks that lean towards classic house music, but with that fresh simple approach of many of the new school house producers! very much recommended!

the voyeurhythm crew from london is doing their first record! ben sun, megadon betamax and hollywood nites deliver some shit hot slo-mo house and disco tracks that go somewhere ugly edits and mark e. crazy stuff that work very well. total killer is the b side cut by ben sun that covers the whole side. a incredible funky and rocking disco funk tune with crunchy 12-bit beats and a soul vocal give way to joyful swinging keys and a driving deep-disco groove. this sounds like one of the best kdj releases! recommended.

after his recent release on clone a made up sound (aka 2562) presents his new platform for his own beat freakery. it is no news anymore that dave huismans is one talented guy! his debut 2562 album was one of last years highlights ... and his new album set for early winter 09 will be not create a smaller buzz! in the meanwhile mr huismans also managed to squeeze out some killer tracks out of his machines for his a made up sound project! these 2 tracks will get a limited run on his newly started label. >rework< started out as a sneaky bonus remix but ended up as a killer techno track in its own right, with stomping 4/4 beats, an irresistibly simple 3 note chord melody and gut-wrenching sub bass. contrasting is >closer< on the flip, where a yearning vocal stab spirals around a warm synth line that just keeps on building over signature punchy broken beats and a big b-line, all the way until its climaxing breakdown. highly recommended!

brilliant raw & unique sounding techno in early 1990s detroit tradition - highly recommended!

absolute madness from immerse here, as october is released from his minimal techno day centre to wreak havoc amongst the dubsteppers. elephants is a pretty appropriate name for the a, as bongo loops and ominuous machine noises are summarily flattened by the phasing bass crunch and trumpeting midrange. add a dash of running breakbeat to the mix and you have a strange yet effective dancefloor worrier. flipside, medium opts for broken techno stylings, simmering pads and clattering percussion setting the scene for the tense main event. 8/10 recommended review by diccon c/o idjmagazine

moleculez returns to meta4 ready to clear dancefloors with some of his most destructive material to date. you know you are dealing with some serious dance music when none of the tracks on a release have vocal samples. the opening track, future in progress, is blessed with a wonderfully deep kickdrum that would probably even sound good at plus20, although we havent tried that yet. out of a nowhere the track suddenly seems to have stopped when an eerie melody creeps out of the dark. this sets the tone for the rest of the release: dark, driving and threatening. gargoyle is the most driving. lava bomb the eeriest: and future in progress the most threatening. thats what we think, anyway. you decide. the last two tracks on this release are probotector and the haunted. the first is actual textbook honest to goodness industrial hardcore while the latter isnt really anything we can talk about here. highly recommended because we want to sell records
