on his new album, i have what i gave, italian musician bottin outdoes himself. he crafts propulsive, disco-laden scores for films not yet made, and introspective, mind-expanding cuts designed to ensure that people who want to dance never get caught up in conventional experiences. each moment with bottin is a memorable one.
another late night disco chugger by the italian warehouse bizarro -bottin-. synthetic dark groove, hypnotizing cinematic dreamwave. reborn sequential sounds that bring life to this strange solar system. -quesdarse irse- has a sitar played by the great beatrice scarpa-bb- of italy accompanied by whomping liquid analog treats to this future classic.
first of the serie -theme from kaffee-, this ep includes edits by albion, avanti, bottin, sleazy mcqueen & the ivory boy. all tracks are edits from obscure italian songs released between 1974 and 1980.
hot new release on bottin s tin label... it has been a while, but worth the wait!! first collaboration between italian synth friends alexander robottin and bottin, produced in the hot summer of 2015 in florence. class!
almost 5 years after his previous album *horror disco* (which was a concept album drawing connections between italian 70s and 80s giallo and horror movies soundtracks and disco music) bottin is back with a stunning new full length opus. entitled *punica fides* the album was made during sessions in venice, rome, berlin and ibiza.
REMODELED AND REWORKED VOL.2 (DAM MANTLE, BOTTIN, ISOLATED LINES RMXS)
12" Vinyl D29.04.14
since 2004, creaked records has always pushed the music forward by bringing up-and-coming artists, shaping its very own style of electronic music and building a cutting-edge discography that defies all manner of genre. to celebrate the 40th addition to our catalog, the extended remodeled and reworked vol. 1, we look at some of our best moments with a second remix collection.
bottin is back with his highly collectible artifact edits. this 12 is dedicated to lucio battisti (well known among disco heads for il veliero) - here bottin has reworked some lesser-known songs that take you on a horseback ride revealing the balearic side of the legendary italian songwriter. only 200 copies!
two hot bottin remixes in this 12inch - first is a heart throbbing disco take on elitechniques love triangle. on the flipside stealth by philippos niforakis gets the full italo robot funk treatment. both sides guaranteed to work on the dancefloor! small designer edition of 200 copies, so dont sleep!
third installment on bottins own tin imprint. after teasing & pleasing vinyl lovers and hardcore disco heads with the luscious two releases lust & dirty (which sold out in a blink) bottin confirms once again his alliance with synth maestro rodion. the moustached duo delivers an incredibly sharp dance floor weapon aptly named *one for all*. think kraftwerk and metro area on a trip to italy, going to a rockets concert all spattered in silver body-paint. cybernetic disco? humanized techno? decide for yourself. pointy-edged synth layers cutting through the dancing bodies like a knife through butter, thrusting bass, piercing arpeggios, sexy warm chords, even a splash of guitar work and -icing on the space cake- an out-this-world chorus with bottins own processed voice impersonating some charming italo extraterrestrial. - extremely small vinyl edition on starry midnight-blue heavyweight wax!
after selling out all previous releases to elite djs and collectors worldwide, the highly mysterius artifact imprint is back to its original aim, that is crafting obscure sonic weapons for disco ninjas! a side 15 minutes is credited to milanese crew love supreme and it is a mesmerizing disco rock rework that builds up to a climax that takes no prisoners. bottin has been playing this to massive dancefloor slaughter and has finally decided to share the blame. on the flipside speed is an enthralling car chase or grand prix if you wish, with throbbing bass, lasers and cowley-esque synth stabs, while frisbee is a rare italo groove, a funk gimmick topped by acid synth patterns, a latin lover voiceover and packs of sultry italian girls chanting >disco! disco!< and definity getting what they are craving for.
fresh new label project by venetian disco head bottin who needs no further introduction! after releases on eskimo, italians do it better, bear funk etc he has now decided to run his own business and press this new production on this psychedelic-looking piece of orange plastic. lust is definitely a hard throbbing and sweaty space disco house track with a hint of deranged prog madness. layers and layers of synths and bass lines build up in a long enthralling foreplay until heavy disco beats violently kick in, finally add spicy disco stabs and you have got yourself an incendiary tool sure to set things on fire. dont sleep on this one! crazy black plattered, orange glowing vinyl.
the collectable artifact imprint is taking a detour from incendiary and obscure disco re-issues into releasing even more obscure material. mysterious italian electro-wave band cristalli liquidi are featured here with a killer rare italo gem produced by tinto b. (also known for robots are un-american, re-released on italians do it better last year). inspired by a lcd soundsystem song tinto b. comes with this great record! we cant find the connection to the lcd soundsystem track that supposed to have been his source of inspiration, and actually we dont care... its some of the best recent italo disco we ve heard in a while! if you are big on italo vocals the a side is for you, if instead you dig deep electro disco but without the chanting, the dub version on the flip side will more than certainly send you into italo space. another hot artifact release from mr. bottin. tip! (limited supplies!)
bottin with his 3rd installment on the artifacts series! artifacts 1 and 2 did did becoe small cult releases that sold out everywhere. no3 is another massive disco release based on early italo disco tracks that have been produced for packed dance floors in rimini, venice and milan. bottin managed to deliver tracks that stay true to their roots and have the energy of modern club tracks. even for non italo disco fetishists these tracks are delivering the fun! limited supplies on transparent blue vinyl!
again, a new discofil release. this time its a mini lp curated by venice-based dj and producer bottin whos showcasing some of his favourite proto-italo oddities, or if you will, an outing of some of his essential influences, dating back to bottins childhood years in italy. bottins earlier releases has been on quality labels such as eskimo, italians do it better, bear funk, nang and the obscure artifact bootlegs. adding discofil to his impressive catalogue, well the pleasure, the privilege is mine
we are proud to present you the new bottin ep! its not a surprise that both tracks have a great live feel, you can hear bottin play the guitar and the keys and his friends rodion and francisco did the live percussion and singing!
limited edition on grey vinyl.
set time-dials to 2011 and engage. here we have two slick, italian producers bottin and rodion, they both may have (professionally) lost their first name, but they sure both make up for that with their italian style and extra analog-burbleness. their original vocoder nugget and dub both feature on the vinyl. for remix action we teleport over to argentina where toomy disco (a pretty spacey name already) delivers us some remix action. slick grooves, flowing bass guitar and more shine than a sparkly new saturn 5.
unless an intergalactic born space-plague fuses our brains back to reality, expect more cosmic lunacy in 2012. get your submissions in now producers.
horror disco melds these soundtrack and aural ideas with a 100% disco album. one that drifts away from most of the soulful elements of disco and one that is dirtier, warmer and less polished than contemporary scandinavian nu-disco. the album is wide and varied - slashdance gives us a goblin-esque robo-vocoder-disco, roger bacon is pure cosmic groove, whilst the italo-disco-thriller disco for the devil features the vocals of italian-based, uk-born session master douglas meakin – who back in the day was lead vocalist in simonetti s easy going and crazy gang cult disco projects.
next up on blitz is our first brand new recording. it was recorded in summer 2010 near atzaro, ibiza. visage and blitz club music supremo rusty egan was staying there over the summer and was making fine use of the inbuilt studio tagged onto his villa. sounds like some fine inspiration for a summer electro anthem... cue two of the hottest dance producers around, germanys justus kohncke and italys bottin. the triumvirate was now complete.
SET PHAZER TO STUN (BOTTIN / SIOUX CITY BOYS RMXS)
12" Vinyl UK29.11.10
the recent time and space machine album released on tirk caused quite a stir. received by fans, press and pundits with a bright glowing prodigiousness, we just had to have one final foray into the 12 inch single department. the albums title track set >phazer to stun< was always a favourite with pulsating krautrock influences, nicely melded with some dirt cheap farfisa organ, freakbeat drumming and (of course) plenty of phazer.
the most favourite of italian producers, bottin, returns with an old project. tinpong is a collaboration between bottin and swiss singer joy freypong. these tasty masters were just gathering dust on an old hard disc in venice but when we heard them we just had to get these gems out there.
the first of the tinpong material is a cover version of a duran duran classic. set dials to 1982, >new religion< is of course one of the standout tracks from the classic >rio< album.
part two in the private pressing series of bottin! again crazy limited and extremely good! two hot tracks covering each one side with upbeat italo tracks that takes no prisoners! the funk driven aextacy on the a-side with its sexy vocals leaves not one girl on the side! on the flip there is teak lover with is pure italo drive and bouncing bassline and bombastic synths. disco just don t get much hotter then this. recommended!
bottins debut for eskimo got supported by everyone from mylo over aeroplane to prins thomas, freeform five, pete herbert, villa and many many more. now there is finally a follow-up with >discocracy/august<. again two impressive tracks, go bottin!
italians do it betters new sister edit label around kicks off with a re-vamp of a steve miller band classic. venice native william bottin is known mainly for his slick glossy italo-inspired productions and remixes on labels like italians do it better. this time he puts his signature spin on a few classic rock tracks turning them into a sick italo-rock floor filler. the b-side is a level 42 burner that will kill for you as well. much more than an edit, yet not a remix per-se- bottin has done something special this time! limited edition of 400 copies never to be repressed.
here a private pressing of 200 copies with some exciting works of mr bottin who is for sure one of the most active producers in the new disco umwelt this year! one super sweet and sexy track called sage oil. disco just dont get much hotter then this. flip side had a track called hot lizard which is a rawer and more masculine piece as many of us might know from the typical italian police series and horror movie scores from the late 70s and early 80s. recommended!
italian musician, sound designer and dj based in venice, where he fights a reckless war against his winged neighbours: the infamous pigeons of st. marks square, who sometimes try to sabotage williams already unstable vintage synths. bottins sound is a blend of seventies disco, early eighties electro, italian giallo movies atmospheres and can be roughly defined as horror disco. among his collaborations: stevie kotey (chicken lips, bear funk), makossa & megablast, richard dorfmeister... bottin already released on bear funk, italians do it better, and after his contribution to the cosmic balearic beats vol. 1 compilation, this is his real 12 inch debut for eskimo.
inspired by the riz ortolani soundtrack for the girl in the yellow pyjamas hot ring bounces around like pamela andersons front end whilst running up and down malibu beach. sharp stabs and spooky synths lines put this straight in modern electronic disco box. things go even dirtier and deeper with bottins stripped down espresso dub version which feels precisely like a double caffeine punch that will kickstart any stagnating dancefloor. 2020 soundsystem and redux main man fernando then comes up with lovely remix where he adds his signature dubbed out punky sound to the ep.
bottin, aka william bottin makes music only an italian can make... probably. take a youth spent against a background of old italian giallo soundtracks, some john carpenter film music, add in late 70s italo disco influences, add a touch of free, some easy west coast vibe and a smattering of kitsch. that just about half describes bottin.
cristalli liquidi returns to bordello a parigi with ecco i remix! alexander robotnick, black spuma and bottin himself on remix duties. on top the sought after 12″,, version of the evergreen volevi una hit.
perpetually locked into a disco groove, pete herbert has already impressed this year with the splendour of his releases on nang alongside martin denev, but on this new 12inch for riot gear he s stepping out on his own. the record actually leads in with the plush, romantic throb of the yam who? remix of -expresso before the original takes over with a more peppy, borderline hi-nrg approach. on the b side bottin gets to take no big thing to task with a version rich in electro funk synthlines, while the original sports some piano house chops and enough sizzling dancefloor energy to ignite a ruckus in a retirement home.
dj pone was french dmc champion for 4 years (1999-2002) and is member of birdy nam nam, famous dj crew which released 4 albums and was also world dmc champion crew in 2000.the tracks falkens maze and m.f.e. sound a bit like slow justice songs with urban beats. dipodaine (feat. didai) can remind modeselektor and the 4th track errotic impulses featuring arnaud rebotini is a really efficient techno track with analog synth and rythmics.
cult italo post-wave group cristalli liquidi are back with another 12- maxi single. this time the production was carried out by the godfather of italian electronic music alexander robotnick with some mysterious intervention from bottin. sciame (italian for swarm) hits harder on the dancefloor then their previous releases, without losing a single drop of the italo lyrical magic.
micronation is the frank agrarios new label. after some key releases on internasjonal, tom tom disco and maxi discs frank decided to start his own vinyl label. micronation is a declaration of independence, frank makes his own rules, passports and stamps, while music is the currency. 02. percussion, deep bases and franks trademark dubby dealys are all there. bottin provides a killer rmx ready to destroy any dancefloor. early support from soul clap, jimpster, munk, swayzak, mammarella and thomas von party.
from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. it is loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts.
wd43 welcomes italian-disco-demigod, bottin to the roster. bottin offers two uptempo and catchy re-edits sitting alongside a lovely dub of #1 deejay by hristo. on the b2, label head, sleazy mcqueen has elongated the soulful house classic, we all need love. 4 songs tweaked for the jazzy leaning disco set.
since its inception in 2009 slow motion has set the standard for new wave of italian dance music producers. with over 15 releases in the archive the italo/berlin based label is now about to drop its first ever compilation italian dance wave. bringing together some of the secret weapons that label boss franz underwear has had tucked away in his record bag with brand new tracks from the likes of clap rules, bottin and riders of the lost arp this compilation packs a mighty punch with its 22 tracks.
