next up on local talk we got a raw peak hour jam from liverpool producer dale howard (lost my dog, large, morris/audio, off rec). there is nothing light or fluffy about these tracks, its just dirty straight up house music with a dark 90s basement feel. for the main track we actually chose the dub version of throwback over of the original mix. we just thought this version was soooo freakin raw even though its more stripped than the original version. you’ll see what we mean when you drop it in the club! the second track in out goes along the same house theories as throwback with jackin beats and deep chords that will do wonders in any authentic house basement. all in all, a might fine release of classic local talk house music. enjoy!

*sundog* by french producer johannes regnier was a massive but bloody underrated track this summer - when i heard it recently at the innervisions-party on the berghain-floor i felt confirmed about this dudes big potential. meanwhile he moved from paris to berlin and his first studio in town was located in a street called wiesenweg. there johannes met alexander antonakis, an excellent and well known dj from frankfurt for some sessions - the result you can hear on this *wiesenweg ep*.

rummage in some boxes of my favourite record store i found a cover that made me curious. l kubic & tagträumer² - the only thing in this world and on the flipside a remix by alle farben. when placing the needle at the beginning of the vinyl the first sounds were very strange. i thought that must be a record from the 60s lost in the tech-house box but than a straight beat turned everything different. a piano melody slowly sat down firmly in my ear and i was longing to know where the journey takes me. after a while an acidline pushed everything and i was sure at this time this is not a normal 4/4 tech-house record. alle farben remixed the themes very playful and i heard that he gives the elements more pressure for the club. so at the end i bought this one and i cannot imagine taking this unique record ever again out of my record case.

for this ep its all about removing reliance on computers and unleashing pure vibes. taking a step back into the past franck roger adopts a raw approach with his latest ep on real tone. removing the comfort of working via sequencers, franck instills more of a live feeling with the love is always two-tracker.

taiki and nulight or to their friends rowan harrington and erka chinbayer have both been djing/producing for many years both in very different circles. taikis career started back in 2008 under his old alias name site 1 who was a house/electro producer. they joined forces and started working together in 2011 which now seems like a lifetime ago considering on what they have achieved in such a short time. when they first started out working together they were making a lot of dubstep, house and electro influenced bass music as we call it now. being heavily into garage, house and electronic dance music there sound heavily progressed across the spectrum of dance music. taiki and nulight released their first ep in february 2012 on subway recordings which gained a lot of support from the likes of mistajam, crookers, herve zinc, redlight, foamo, roska, benga, skream, adam f, hatcha, n type and more. gaining them a lot of frequent airtime on bbc radio 1, 1xtra, kiss 100 and rinse fm. now nearly a year and a half since they have joined forces, they have received massive support from some of the most respected djs out there not to mention air time nearly every week on radio 1 and kiss 100. with their next release on the horizon and due to drop december time 2012 on bengas very well respected label benga beats there is so much more that you will see from these boys and so much new material to hear.

john heckle (undisputed king of da real scouse house and fast becoming one of the most prolific young techno producers from the uk) deviates ever so slighty from his trademark sound to paddle his little raft down the mersey and run wild with the wolves. the result is epic and mystic (and 100% organic) and opens a doorway into a mythical world of wicker men, hill figures, druids, witch covens and early 90s sunrises off the m25, when ever-e-thing seemed possible. excellent new artwork as well by godspill, who is also into naked chicks that float and stuff. a deadly combination!

footprintz are on a rich run of form right now, showing a craftsmanship in their songs that is so often lacking in modern day dance music. new single favourite game is set to further buck this trend when it drops on december 3rd (general release).

wars/when i feel is juk juks third 12 release for nommos lead tune wars is pure winter melancholy driven by dark rhythms and brooding basslines, occasionally broken down with celestial synths. slick, enigmatic and moody, a hard one to pin down but easy to get lost in. in contrast when i feel is an irresistible piece of minimal garage house. big kicks and crisp highs are punctuated with reversed strings. all this is scattered with juk juks signature vocal manipulations.

new years deal - behind the highway, near the industrial area, next to the airport, somewhere in the innercity, urban principles fall apart. that leaves the enclaves, mono functionalism and an urban ultra density that local governments are struggling to eradicate. both a cage and a cocoon, there is a space where development opportunities hit the wall. hybrid places that combines urban collapse and >the new culture<, endemic violence and solidarity, all of which is left to the communities to deal with without outside help. when the post-industrial economy becomes sporadic and nothing else takes shape, man is left at the mercy of his environment. techno appears and becomes a parallel between man and the city, as another faceless entity which unifies them. this unity is the result and techno is the process.

unlucky for some but not it seems you or us, dot013 comes comprised of a hat trick of deep and sultry, some would say rnb flavoured slow jams, made for those sexier evenings when you feel the urge to want to nod your head, wine your body and give those hips something of a work out as opposed to just pointing haphazardly to the sky whilst hopping between legs and occasionally pulling your best ooooh listen to that bass line face. though those evenings clearly have their place as well.

the black madonna hits home taping hard with her first release on the label >alright this morning<. coming from the middle of nowhere, but now based in the attic of a house in chicago that used to be the home of over 50 dance labels, she likes her music to do the talking and admires the anonymity and musical militancy of acts like underground resistance. having being brought up working in the music industry as an apprentice doing this, that and everything and helping to run labels, she actually refused to let anyone hear her work for years with masters gathering dust and never seeing the light of day. until now when, after the encouragement of a producer friend to get her stuff out there and a chance find by home taping of a few tracks online one day, she has now found a place where she feels at home. the first of a string of releases on home taping sees the jubilant and heavily chicago-influenced >alright this morning< released along with a remix by one of her favourite new producers, nicholas from italy. the rest is history and up to you ...

the second of two eps from talented californian newcomer, tyler friedman, has now arrived. a night in the woods ep starts of as a murky rhythmic experiment. when released of its bound, it transforms into a hailstorm of sound that builds in melodic intensity towards a final climax. this is scenic and brave electronic dancemusic that over and over again will capture the focused listener. on the b-side rivet for sure push tyler towards berghain. but now the tool is somewhat different. rivet transforms the cinematic original into a very dirty and dry party stomper.

the smugglers inn has become a unique testing ground for new artists and productions and many of todays highly rated new school producers benefited from early support on the show as well as behind the scenes a+r advice from daniel when approached by record labels after being featured on the show.with a network of talent to draw from, it seemed a logical step to start a record label so this is the first release from what promises to be an interesting series of eclectic, dancefloor focussed musical endeavours from an all-star international cast.

inspired by the teachings of the earons (thats .22, .18, .33, .69 and .28 to the uninitiated, see www.earons.net for more background), a splinter group was formed earlier this year, with the express mission to bring back the message and connect it to a whole new audience. >land of hunger< is given a 2012 reconstruction from the cosmologist, a sturdy rework performed by the mysteriously concealed outfit, who identify themselves only as .40, and .44. whilst they are heavily influenced by earons beliefs on positive energy, which they seek to share, .40 + .44 are quick to point out they have no links with the earlier incarnation from 28 years ago, but felt a compelling force to unearth it once more. the universe knows when the time is right, and frankly the original broadcast was just too good to not want to fashion a 2012 edit, so a new chapter begins ...

as i look to the sky from the surface of the water is the much awaited second album from grit, aka london producer gary brackley and it has found a perfect home on meanwhile. the label is well placed to be an outlet for grits explorations deep into the realm of deep techno, thanks to its standing within the techno community and this album stands tall alongside contributions from the likes of murmur, sven weismann, bvdub and conforce. opening with the expansive title track, grit sets the tone for what to expect with the ripple of syncopation shifting in and out of focus amidst the viscous layers of foggified luminescent ambient texture. across the subsequent five tracks this tone is retained throughout as brackley playfully explores the inventive sparks that arise when rhythm rubs with texture, with the smudged out subaqueous >safer retreat< a real highlight.

for this 22nd release on lomechanik we present the ep when her language goes on holiday by urkelle, which will be available on vinyl and digitally. intelligent, deep bass music that fits just as well on the dancefloor as on your headphone. urkelle is one of the aliases of steve mensink, a dutch producer which is based in the city of utrecht.

when dynamodyse made his debut on wph back in 2009 he struck a chord (pun intended) with lovers of emotional deep house worldwide. hailing from dortmund, mathias matze schmitt is a special character that immediately fit the bunch of wph nutters, so it was only a matter of time before he would be back with a second release. which incidentally will be his second release ever, which goes to show how much he trusts wph and how much wph trusts dynamodyse.
