the return of goldffinch on saigon recordings with remixes of two tracks from their 2 part ep series from last year. first up is a rework of *funky steppa* arguably the belgian duos biggest tune to date on a club level with huge dj support from the likes of boddika, jackmaster, oneman and more – stepping up on the remix duties is none other than resident swamp 81 producer trusta with a psychedelic monster of a relick. on the flip policy fresh from his superb album on rush house attacks *outer twigs* to sublime effect, taking the original framework and truly making the track his own, it is a journey you wont want to come back from.

rummage in some boxes of my favourite record store i found a cover that made me curious. l kubic & tagträumer² - the only thing in this world and on the flipside a remix by alle farben. when placing the needle at the beginning of the vinyl the first sounds were very strange. i thought that must be a record from the 60s lost in the tech-house box but than a straight beat turned everything different. a piano melody slowly sat down firmly in my ear and i was longing to know where the journey takes me. after a while an acidline pushed everything and i was sure at this time this is not a normal 4/4 tech-house record. alle farben remixed the themes very playful and i heard that he gives the elements more pressure for the club. so at the end i bought this one and i cannot imagine taking this unique record ever again out of my record case.

danny wolfers wears many hats: jackmaster corky, trackman lafonte & bonquiqui, legowelt... nacho patrol is dannys travels towards african space travel. where earlier nacho patrol records spent time exploring cosmic ethiopia, this current incarnation adds a more sci-fi element to the mix, taking influences from chicago house to sun city girls, this is purely original sounds from one of the best producers out there.

church is a much respected london party that invites the likes of juan atkins, darling farah, marcellus pittman and other such underground heavyweights to their events, and have done for 18 months. now well established, founders seb wildblood & apes are taking the next step and launching a label of the same name after dipping their toe in the release arena with a lorca white label, ‘faith evans refix’ which was out in late september.

this twentieth 3024 release is by my friend trevino. i am particularly proud to put this out because it was trevino (aka marcus intalex), who signed my very first tracks and gave me my break back in 2005 (a 12 inch called get down on his label revolve:r). in the last two years he has started taking his techno more seriously, writing new tracks at a very fast pace. i am glad people are taking notice of his music cos he is the real deal and it was tough picking tracks for this release cos he is making so many! ultimately we chose four that would clearly showcase marcus different sides and styles. so, seven years after my >get down<, i am proudly presenting the mighty trevino with his >tactical manoeuvre ep<.

>blurry< runs at 133bpm allowing it to sit neatly between dubstep tempo and the increasingly popular 125-130 bpm bass / house scene that has been developing in the uk over the last couple of years. taking things down an ongy-bongy path, this rhythm provides the soundtrack to a hunter chasing his prey through a humid jungle landscape, with fast weaving beats charged heavy by the deadly subs. the heat is on.
>spearhead< sees roska making a rare 140bpm trip, taking this rhythmical excursion neatly into dubstep tempo territory, creating an original cut which sits in its own world of tribal grime. the bassline pounds heavy, eventually rising upward before suddenly plummeting back down to the murky depths from where it came, and back round again. dis-hyeer quality dubstep music produced pon the other side of the looking glass.
