after releasing hvl s away from everything we know 12inch back in 2015, organic analogue welcome the georgian producer back to present his long-awaited debut album. as a resident of the much-vaunted club bassiani, hvl conceived ostati as a document of the sound of tbilisi - centred on warm, outboard house and techno but with a noticeably understated mood. the club tracks take a pared down approach that favours space and meditation over bold brush strokes, but between the teeth-gnashing bite of -askinkila- or the rough and ready acid workout -continuum,- the sound is gutsy and dripping with character. ostati spells out a space where dim lights and mysterious corners provide a playground for wild ideas to dart around in the dark. the overall atmosphere may appear subdued, but it s merely a cover for the fiery spirit lurking underneath.

ltd repress! by now, chicago s home of the ghetto house movement, dance mania, should need no introduction! if you didn t already know, they are the original purveyors of that hard-ass, stripped back, tough, hitting electronic funk, they ve never held back with their output. operating since the late 80 s the label has gained legions of fans over 2 decades as well as a certain notoriety and one of their most well-known artists has got to be the legendary dj deeon and his various production pseudonyms! this, the second in a series of samplers focusses on some of his unreleased cuts, rarities and classics from the dm catalogue. kicking things off with the demented over-sexed jacking off of da dik suk this ep shows you what s up from the jump. lifted off 1996 s freak like me ep this is vintage deeon to the core! this is followed up with the minimal, acidic runnings of 1112 , from deeon s 1996 chop shop release, a wigged out, simplistic groove that just won t stop. classic chicago weirdness that simply just slams. the frenetic phenomenon opens up side b, produced under his mute pseudonym and originally released in 1997 this is a sure-fire rarity from the dm vaults. a tough one to track down and a real essential under the radar cut. also featured is the wild acid of playground productionz the box , here in unreleased (!) rare remixed form by another chi-town legend - paul johnson. top shelf business. last but certainly not least is another playground jammer in the form of the killer vertigo lifted off the same ep from 1994 which is surely enough to whet even the toughest of appetites. file under jackin . every track on here has been remastered and repressed with the full consent and involvement of dj deeon and parris mitchell, selected and programmed from deeon s private archives and dat tapes for above board, london. 100% hater free.

albrecht la brooy s analogue attic imprint welcomes citizen maze onto its roster with the four-track serenity in the woods ep. australian duo albrecht la brooy have been steadily carving out a name for themselves over the past few years with their jazz-inflected take on deep house via the likes of apollo/r&s, night tide and of course their own analogue attic imprint which has become a home for their own output as well as fellow australian artists like sleep d, rings around saturn and more. here though we see the label offer up the inaugural ep from melbourne s adam mccoy aka citizen maze. leading on the package is the ten-minute natural playgroun , embracing the labels signature field recording background aesthetic whilst stirring in organic drum grooves, fluttering pads and jazzy sax licks throughout. glade hollow follows with bumpy, off-kilter drums and ethereal chords at its core whilst horn lines and twinkling synth melodies wander across its eight-minute duration. moonlight sanctuary opens the flip-side, edging into darker territories with murky dubbed out synth flourishes, robust drums and tension building strings before title-track serenity in the woods rounds out the package, laying focus on a snaking sub bass groove, metallic percussive shuffles and expansive atmospherics.

as the title suggests, joakim recorded this new album last year at studio venezia, the installation/sculptural ensemble/recording studio created by xavier veilhan for the prestigious 2017 venice art biennale. built inside the french pavilion & inspired by the grotto-like merzbau by kurt schwitters, studio venezia had dozens of artists create and record there over the 6 months of the biennale (from chassol to brian eno, from joakim to sebastien tellier), invited by xavier veilhan himself with the help of co-curator christian marclay. with an impressive collection of rare instruments from medieval horns to rare modular synths (baschet crystals and percussions, a buchla, a clavinet...), studio venezia was an amazing creative playground for the adventurous musician. those instruments were captured by a team of sound engineers in the best possible way thanks to nigel godrich�s (beck, radiohead...) mobile studio loaded with state of the art vintage recording gear.

there is a hidden place between science and magic. a secret playground where brainwaves rejoice and wander around. and, guess what, modified perspectives is all you need to reach it.

greenvision is the collaborative brainchild of two esp institute artists, juan ramos and luca trentini aka trent, both longtime fixtures of berlin�s infamous playground known as cocktail d�amore. separately, these two explore their own very personal avenues of expression, putting their time in the trenches and endlessly polishing their works (this makes juan�s third release with the label), but when their efforts overlap we�re gifted a view into their uncanny synergy. juan and trent channel an exorbitant amount of smoke-fueled creativity, building layers upon layers into music so dense that the bulk of their studio time might then be spent navigating and formalizing their output into tangible tracks. greenvison�s collective debut with the esp institute showcases three intense cerebral workouts, banana paradiso, rambutan and the color of maracuja, an array of experiments pulling from all the corners of the duo�s imagination�it is disorienting, cacophonous, introverted and psychedelic, but at the same time playful, melodic, euphoric and undoubtably arresting�guaranteed to induce hallucinations under proper circumstances. we welcome the induction of greenvision to the esp institute, and with us as your guide, we welcome you to accompany on our descent into their abyss. try not to get lost.

for its latest release, weirdest dream has landed on dopeness galore for a supernova of atmospheric sounds called white worms. weirdest dream is the moniker and playground of stockholm-based galactic explorers daniel fagerström & luciano leiva. with a history of releases on rvng and permanent vacation the duo plays around in a constellation of all analog and early digital synthesizers such as the tr-909, waldorf microwave, yamaha dx7, roland juno-60 and akai mpcs. an ambient cloud of sonic surrealism, white worms is a curious exploration of the celestial sphere through echoes of patrick cowley, sensations fix and tangerine dream.
