hypnotic and mesmeric, the haunting music that brazilian artist babe, terror makes belies its origins: originally conceived as a soundtrack to >cold saturday afternoons< at home and long, late night walks around his hometown of sao paulo, his tracks are not so much songs as compelling, unsettling aural landscapes, lush, cinematic stories rendered as washes of electronica, absorbing influences as disparate as 50s pop, tropicalia and cold wave and distilling them to their ghostly essence

for its ten tracks the album will readopt two original tracks and two alternative versions from the ep while additionally introducing six completely new songs. as a very special feature >katze< and >mimikry< will feature vocals/words by the model veruschka (known from the movie >blow up< by m. antonioni). the album will be released with a special 16 page booklet that will present original text/drawings of blixa bargeld that developed during the recordings.

no stranger to straight up, tracky techno - the cuts on adam marshall’s third cynosure release are pure evidence of his familiarity with the genre. >searching< on side a is the slick, dj-friendly, jacker - reminiscent of detroits early sound. a relentless, but never tiring, deep analog bass sequence backed with marshalls signature grooves are the recipe here. killer just about sums it up. on the flip, >jamming the unit< is another tracky workout designed for the long-mix, followed by the kick-less basic channel-influenced builder, entitled >champion<. a perfect weapon in any techno set. yes, another timeless, ace of an ep - packed with mix appeal from adam marshall… order now!

a1. >everybody techno< - this is typical of gideons dance floor techno style, thick beats with a marching bass-line. from the first beat we are guided through a tough no-holds-barred trip into an unforgiving world of the darker sides of techno music. a retrospective vocal with a sinister laugh completes this evil peak-time track.
a2. >flight to right now< - this minimal track snaps along with a very basic beat and synth combo. the synth rises as the track progresses to keep dance floors moving. there is a wonderfully simple aspect to this track that gets under the skin and allows people to really connect with it.
b1. >recession tool< (vocal mix) - recession tool is a chunky tech house track with a wonderfully chewed up vocal and ever-present reverse snares. the track pumps forward until a nice rising breakdown lifts to complete with more vocals and intricate drum loops.
b2. >rico< - rico is a long progressive track with a slow builds and a warped lead line. the least aggressive track on the ep and possibly the least expressive. that said, it still ticks along seamlessly with a perfectly crafted warble and smart drums.

since dial was established in 2000 there always has been the musical influence of isolee. from his first 12inches and his debut album >rest< on playhouse, rajko mueller was one main source of inspiration of all early dial artists- pantha du prince, efdemin, lawrence, carsten jost. more than that he became a lovely neighbour living close to the riverside of hamburg, a good friend whose pasta sauce would take a whole day to cook, and still a musician who would spend an extra long time to create his extraordinary pieces, drifting from version to version.

rusty egan and steve strange brought you the blitz club in 1980, the cradle that not only spawned the musical soundtrack to a generation but also the styles, fashions and very fabric of the 80s. thirty years may seem a long time to wait before launching a record label of the same name but the sound of the blitz is as fresh today as it was all those years ago on a side street off covent garden.

(cue the overdrive and the interstellar vocal.) slovenian-based, us singer, hannah mancini, provides those cosmic vocals, ably recorded by sare havlicek in sunny ljubljan. after a sly re-titling of the track (to avoid confusion with the original the name has been extended to >on a highway to saturn<) its on to the obligatory over-the-top nang remix package...first up is a new version from d-pulse for those long summer nights. their >australian shore reversion< mix slows down the groove to a balmy evening by noosa shores pace. space-rock, guitar solos, smouldering synths and lazy rhythms all combine to make this one for the beach house. sare havlicek adds a couple of mixes of his own. keeping things hi-energy he goes for the disco jugular with his trademark stabby synths and tight production. nang newcomers, proper heat, strip things back and go for a slow-grooving baltic-disco chugger. rounding off the remix package is japanese based jan ken po (aka max essa). he delivers a dance floor friendly version with a big and bold walking bass riff and tasteful synths

imagine >din da da<, martin circus and bostich all wrapped up into one long play club slammer! kenny dope strikes again with this flawless mixed tune. ken seamlessly connects these three classics and adds a hard pounding batucada house beat over them that makes this the record that everyone who is anyone will pound.

bassbuero a.k.a. thomas ingold and his partner björn müller are long-year resident djs and promoters in our hive club and come around the corner with a smooth customer debut. the title could not be any more designative, as with this is not house music we have a knotless and outstanding 90s number with lots of pathos and - declaredly - they have looked over some shoulders of big protagonists from france. when the vocoder chords are crossing swords with this insane bassline, every ravers heart must beat at least one octave higher. this is the tune for a perfect sunrise and big feelings on the floor. on the flip we have gruber & nuernberg, some good pals of bassbuero that played in hive several times as well - they contribute a complete antipole to the the original. almost a bit trancey they spin the chords over a straight old school house groove, never let the basic spirit of the original out of sight and though don t forget to leave their very own traces on this remix. in addition we have - as with every release - a digital exclusive bonus track, that certainly does not deserve the rating house music - lets call it rather fidget than deep. but be sure, its all gone will blow your mind out.

the loin brothers are long john saliva and dj silvio, two dashing farmers raised on strobe lighting, fuzz guitars and pork spare ribs. this is their second original single and follows on from heavy helmet, the mock & toof remixed single that caught the attention of aeroplane, ewan pearson and ivan smagghe with ivan featuring it on his live at robert johnson mix compilation. on this outing the loins have pruned, mowed, fertilized and watered their way through the studio to create the garden of vargulf. the original takes off with a thumping bass guitar, orchestral string leads, the odd desert wolf howl and a real guitar soloà with a guitar no less.

hypnotize to mesmerize. thatÆs always been mark eÆs thing. enjoying a sterling reputation as an editor as well as establishing his own label merc with a string of well made 12inches and two dope compilations, the man from birmingham complements our little label again with some original productions. starting with out with nobody else, mark puts love on top of love. unfortunately for you - and good for us - you have to fetch a second copy to go back and forth with the weighty bonus beats. flip side: the wolf is a murky trip into classic cavernous house music with a bottom-heavy ruffneck sound and an attention drawing siren. that alarm bell is also included in a minute-long extra fx section and for those that cannot get enough, seeks and ye shall find a locked-groove. people who like to carry their record collection around on a hard-drive, will also be pleased to know that there is an additional track to be found on the digital release (no locked grooves there, were afraid). its a contemplative force called stoneleigh express. e is for earthquake!

only for an artist like samuel l session and on labels like be as one, you could put together a remixes pack with some of the most genre defining producers in the dance music of the recent time and beyond. such is indeed for sls album the man with the case remixes pack. on the a side you have label boss shlomi aber, soon to release his 2nd long awaited artist album on ovum, who has reworked big bad drum in a jazzier, dubbier vein. damage is assured on the dancefloors. cadenzas main man reboot takes samuels the soloist and turns it into an hipnotic techno journey, something very different from what frank is known for. stacey pullen needs no introduction, being one of the leaders of the second wave of detroit techno hes a legend in the scene. with him, sls sections get reworked to a new high. to close the package, the soloist get remixed by sls himself, and its turned into a new dancefloor groover, bearing once again the swedish master imprint.
