The Loin Brothers are Long John Saliva and DJ Silvio, two dashing farmers raised on strobe lighting, fuzz guitars and pork spare ribs. This is their second original single and follows on from Heavy Helmet, the Mock & Toof remixed single that caught the attention of Aeroplane, Ewan Pearson and Ivan Smagghe with Ivan featuring it on his Live at Robert Johnson mix compilation. On this outing the Loins have pruned, mowed, fertilized and watered their way through the studio to create The Garden of Vargulf. The original takes off with a thumping bass guitar, orchestral string leads, the odd desert wolf howl and a REAL guitar soloà with a guitar no less.

On this outing the Loins have pruned, mowed, fertilized and watered their way through the studio to create The Garden of Vargulf. The “Acid Re-Rub” stretches out into Burning Man territory with a batty squelched out 303 and grand pianos duelling through the early hours of the morning. Melbourne man Tornado Wallace (aka Lewi Day) visits the garden just after his new 12″ on Delusions of Grandeur and brings out his signature filtered funk and compressed drums. Lots of fun to be had with this mix. To round off the EP, our LA pals Woolfy Vs Projections serve up their Top Sirloin mix. Woolfy wrote and recorded his own vocals for this one and completely flips the sounds to bring the 8am “Oh crap that’s daylight, the club is closed and we’re off to Chad’s house” vibe. Blissed out strings and vocals running amok through the garden - start your morning or end your night here!
