dj raw sugar is a native of berlin, but has done a 6 year stint in new zealand and now resides in perth. his productions are deep and raw house beats mixed with jazz, boogie, disco, funk and soul. over the years he has put out music via other peoples labels like gazeebo international, midnight riot and ism, but is now taking matters into his own hands via love sexy records - a label he has just started. the debut release kicks off with a piece from the man himself! it s a sweet and sultry slice of disco. inkswel, also australian based, takes up remix duty taking the track in a more club-ready direction. slow goodness all over!

following the groups major hit is it all over my face, arthur russell continued to release dance singles such as this disco classic tell you (today), an upbeat dance groove and loose joints holdover featuring the vocals of joyce bowden. the song has been remastered from original analog tape for 2014 and repressed in conjunction with the rights holders, verse music group.

james brown reworked into a rough and ready frenzy over a bubbling analog jam - a totally infectious raw dancefloor bomb - rumoured to be the work of blue boy. flipside brings the deep calm in a larry heard style - beautiful, warm original hardware cut.

gene hunt is a prolific producer with an un-mistakable sound of his own. and although an originator of the acid house sound from chicago, he certainly didnt stop there. his music has naturally evolved over the years, often incorporating more mature melody and rhythm structures, but always in time with a proper underground style dance track. these tracks are a perfect fit for the direction and vision of the inner shift music label as well, and for this reason we are pleased to present you with planted seeds by gene hunt.
