after many years of steady work bristol-based artist joefarr created a well-respected profile on his own, he is now joining the label showing a side of his works that many never saw probably, and others always knew but never saw on a record. development always takes time, and time is nothing when the art comes out in his true form. this is “dedicate” - a very important record that represents something deeper than a peace of wax, label boss emmanuel took the big responsibility to remix the title track and make his own view of joefarr’s dedication.
joefarr and his label user experience are pleased to welcome a very talented to the roster, insolate. the artist formerly known as miss sunshine is a dj, producer, label owner and promoter who has been in the business for 20 years and considered as one of the best techno artist’s from croatia. the two original tracks ride a perfect balance between groove, power and emotion. joefarr does what he does best and turns out a killer remix.
‘keep it simple’ is anything but, the atmosphere came from an early morning field recording in the departure lounge of milan airport, the chatter and noise comes over as something almost alien and the melody came later after an alcohol soaked evening sitting by candlelight with friends, playing the piano. despite it’s multiple layers it has only one message - give trance a chance. ‘at last’ is a more direct affair, with a classic call and response pattern, the 0-coast shouts aggressively at the microbrute and the microbrute responds with a howl not dissimilar to a lost whale calf calling for its mother.. either that or its just a banger.
introducing forecast, the new va series from them. many of the artists showcasing tracks have more music forthcoming with us. forecast is therefore a glimpse of what is in store for the label in the future.
farr has a diverse catalogue, with three well-received releases on turbo as well as records with dsnt, leisure system and power vacuum. few producers can claim to have remixed tiga and been remixed by truss.
though farr has an extensive history with bloc., this will be his first outing on the label, a release that incorporates sounds that both bloc and joe are famed for.
the first track, “rpm” features prominently in the bloc festival trailer and is the soundtrack to the 2016 weekender. hissing high hats and an atmospheric baseline quickly develop into an explosive anthem designed to get feet moving. “rolling and thatching” conveys an immediate punch of 90’s acid, followed by techno heavy “workout three” with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery worthy of the berghain dance floor.
on the heels of 2015s hyperactive longanimity ep on leisure system and the recent sense of purpose lp via bloc records, joefarr returns to leisure system with the spectate ep, another tactile and punishing contribution to the ongoing gridlock series complete with an incredible remix from sound scientist max cooper.
from the sweating walls of a warehouse rave to the intimate chambers of a rogue heart, raar’s third release resonates boldly in sonic overtures from french techno supergroup, w.lv.s, and bristol’s prolific joefarr.

them is proud to present ansome as the man behind the buttons for its third outing. the first ep on the label, this release comprises 6 tracks, with 4 original tunes by ansome demonstrating a broader range of styles from a producer who is enjoying a current meteoric rise, and including two club minded bangers from perc and joefarr. the vinyl edition comes as a double plate with full sleeve artwork!
it s time to have fun in the murky again as the 4th ep arrives on platters courtesy of joefarr. this record, bearing joe s daughter s stylized name has been something of a special project here at fitm. originally intended for vinyl release on turbo recordings of montreal i couldn t stand it when i found the vinyl release was no longer planned. i got in touch with both joe and the kind folks at turbo and have licensed it for this vinyl release. it truly is a record i believe in.
french producer julien saillenfait (deapmash) is delivering broad shouldered textures and sequences with attitude for the sophomore stale output. from the jump, the picture that the french producer is painting shows really vivid. intrusing rhythms that pierce through ear canals and are nicely propped up by taints of distorting and peculiar vocal cuts.
• an organic, cold pressed and nutritionally balanced new 4 track ep from dont !
dont returns with a brand new various artists ep and the first in a new series that takes over where the * rumpus room* records left off.. * square meal* is designed to present to you a nutritionally balanced techno record, food for thought as well as for feet.. containing absolutely no artificial constituents but plenty of roughage and active ingredients !
the a side contains 2 heavy bangers, and the b side, 2 slices of amazingly quirky and rocking wonky style techno. man of the moment joe farr steps up and serves us a heavy one, dense, big boned techno music that manages to morph into gabba and back out again. this one is causing a stir whenever its played and fits perfectly with the dont ethos of extreme idea implementation! next up cursor miner returns to the label with a demented banger that has been road tested extensively during his live sets and comes with a health warning.. flip the record over for 2 slices of beautifully freeform wonky techno, the first coming from newcomer - sane and the second from dont veteran * edit*
inside these airless sarcophagi, the passing of time renders objects once forged from molten metals as fragile as paper, so delicate a gust of wind could destroy them for ever. once deadly weapons now oxidised to dust are proof of the futility of man in the face of time. all regimes will crumble over years, all empires turn to dust…the more potent an object in its former life, the more poignancy in its nebulous disintegration. the shattered radio controls, the gun turned to a rusted block like a child s toy, the bullets corroded to nothing are all exiled from their brutal pasts. what messages are locked in time that passed through the obliterated decoding machine, who alive if anyone can tell its secrets.
promising bristolian producer joefarr released his debut ep in late 2012 for tigas ever reliant turbo recordings, picking up plays from the likes of dave clarke, ivan smagghe, dexter & many more. a further ep on turbo, *clocks*, followed, as well as remixes for tiga and zombie nation, so enamoured were they with his production prowess, and now kick starting hypeltds 2014 campaign, joefarr presents four cuts for the hypercolour offshoot.
vanta series is the new series for killekill s dancefloor music. the releases come in series, every series comes with a theme and one artwork which is being split in several parts to go with each release. the first series is called -the end is near- and features four records. it comes with an artwork by french visual artist elzo durt. the second record is coming from kamikaze space programme, who delivers three types of tracks:
, type 1 – a nervous piece of bells, percussion and bass
, type 2 – a minimalistic techno night drive
, type 3 – a spacious futuristic soundscape
, type 3 comes with a remix by joefarr, who added some drama to the original and therewith created a proper hit for the darker hours.
our first release is by jay clarke, a london based producer and resident of the renowned monthly party. the first release will showcase killer cuts from jay himself, each showcasing a brand of techno narrative thats become now synonymous with his contradistinctive sound.
echno upstarts south london analogue material return with their second release. this time label head ansome takes the reigns over four tracks of blistering industrial techno. redlining kick drums and ferocious percussion are pick of the day here. also includes two fantastic remixes from clouds and joefarr. hand screened sleeves and limited to 250 copies!
as a rave icarus turns to his companion and sighs, *we tried to touch the sun my friend, but we got burned...* these tracks leave a trail of scorched earth behind them while you stand bewildered in their smoking wake. nurture your most wayward desires to these sounds coming from god knows where, and inflict them on the innocent as soon as you can.
turbo recordings presents what is hopefully the worlds first 100 micron film condom wrapper record sleeve. tiga and jori hulkkonens trust your body single, featuring remixes by danny daze, john roman, and joefarr.
