highway records presents the long-awaited vinyl release by gorje hewek & izhevski - russian duo, known for their releases on such labels as pro-tez, cyclic and phonique s ladies and gentlemen. two beautiful melodic tracks morning bells and voltiger are completed with brilliant remixes by european underground stars markus homm (8bit, highgrade, brise) and adriatique (diynamic, culprit, off recordings).

this is a piece of estonian underground musics history. more than 20 years ago, in estonia, hypnosaurus were pioneers of deep house and techno, the first ones to have gone with this new strange rhythmic music into the studio and into the dark basements of tallinn.the remix is by the strange and wonderful chicago producer hieroglyphic being. this is soul music of rusty funk-robots. for this remix he is said to have tried out new methods of dealing with sounds, switching them on and off.

the release kicks off with title track find my way which features exciting young vocalist, ria morans heartfelt tones. cade opts for swinging 909 drums and a hooky bass-lick as the driving force, while morans voice sporadically eases in and out of the groove and understated chord stabs and tension building strings fuel the musicality, resulting in a classy, deep-house workout. up next is dr. fox, embracing a similar deep, contemporary house aesthetic, with saw-wave bass hits, cosseting pads and hooky vocal snippets acting as the fundamental elements of the cut, cade then plays on subtle variations in the groove throughout its near seven minute duration, to maintain an evolving dynamism and enticement. entering the latter half of the single we have ghostryder up first, cade opts for a more upfront approach this time, bringing busy drum programming to the forefront, alongside sweeping synth tones, a tom-driven bass line and dubbed out vocal licks.

miles sagnias british bastion of deepness, aer, returns with the life ep, which sees the label foray into fresh territory. tokyos tomi chair opens proceedings with a sharp piece of deep techno called sunstroke which is as uplifting as it is tough. si tappenden appears next under the newly established ourra alias, contributing the dawn acid driver marine morning which is an inspired piece of dancefloor poetry. finally rounding off the ep is miles sagnias ~elements~. after years of experience as one of the uks finest underground djs, sagnia is on point once again. a beautifully emotive track, that pulls on the heart strings and exhibits a serene gentility that works alongside the rhythm

following on from releases for pomelo and pal sl, ld nero makes a welcome return to trelik, the label that unveiled the project back in 2011. detroit house flavours lace >als ik kan<, as a bleepy synth loudly sounds on the off beat over short stabby chords and shuffling drums. a summery, rhode uplifting house track awaits in >the feel< while a loose > i m burning< almost sounds like ld nero has each of the tracks elements placed on a separate turntable - making sure to keep them beat matched and aligned.

sam walton is a 22 year old producer from manchester who came to hyperdub after feeding them demo tracks, and started off in 2011 with the *walton ep*, the first of three eps for the label. since then he has honed and developed his music into *beyond*, finding a really fresh and subtle intersection between music that doesnt seem to naturally fit together, old eski grime, funky and detroit house and techno but with smudged edges and a colourful industrial sound palette that gives a real richness to his productions.

miguel lobo is back on bondage-music with such awesome ep. three fantastic grooving and fresh tech house tracks + additional remix from pelé & shawnecy (cecille / get physical).

for the fifth release on roots for bloom, michael james delivers 3 bumping cuts of very much dance floor orientated music. the opener infinite state gets you moving straight from the off with some edgy stabs and serious groove. high roller carries on where the a1 lets off upping the tempo but maintaining the direction. the b side freeze is a more techno influenced track, but still hold that underlying groove.
