following jacques renault’s sophomore album,,,, bkclubbeats, breaks & versions,,,,which we dropped in july, is a sort of addendum, epilogue, encore. as you’ll recall, we released a cassette edition of the lp that was all ten tracks laced together, eighties/nineties mixtape-style, and topped off with five bonus tunes. what we present you with here is that extra material etched into vinyl for easier club use and personal playback.
brazilian boogie merchants barefoot beats treat us to two very distinctive but equally refreshing flavours on yet another highly collectable 10 inch record. first up they welcome nyc dj & music collector jacques renault on board to exchange the loft for the beach bar as he drops a heavy slice of funk inspired boogie bliss that s perfect for the beach party. on the flip, selvagem s trepanado transforms the party sound by dipping into a more synth driven and edgy 80s influenced brazilian warehouse party vibe that builds to a break so tropical you can actually feel the sunrise coming. tudo bem! vamos!

summertime funtime courtesy of... someone from somewhere. who know? “liwando” is madchester rave culture with a disco underbelly and a bongo and conga fervor. jacques renault’s mix somehow manages to cram a few more sticks of dynamite into the mix, beefing up the funkiness quotient (that bass!) and embellishing the breakdowns (that horn!) “didn’t i (acid version)” is definitely the afterward to “liwando,” a joyous, soaring encore that has, yes, a touch of acid folded in.
almost ten years ago, back in november of 2009, before lets play house was even a humble basement-bar and hotel-lobby party, jacques renault quietly released a four-track ep on hole in the sky, an imprint run by canyons leo thomson and ryan grieve, called favicon, that was both a snapshot of new york citys glitter-dusted disco-revival haze and the culmination of the first few years of renaults career through the club circuit. it quickly became a cult classic and set in motion much of what followed for renault it added some fuel to the fire that was runaway, his project with marcos ca
late last year, we modestly celebrated the sixth anniversary of lph records by releasing a 10-inch that reconnected us with our very first ep by bringing back two of the artists who contributed to it, runaway and soft rocks. now, as a sort of companion to that, we have lph___vi , a 7-inch that gives shine to a couple other names that have been spotted on lph party flyers of old and back catalog credits, jacques renault and daniel t. both these are fun, flavorful little disco nugs united by funky bass guitar fretwork and plenty of sassy woodblock, though jacques leans towards the goofy and daffy, whereas daniels brings some synth-pop seriousness into the frame. as befits the format, both hover around four minutes in length.
nyc stalwart and international superstar jacques renault joins brooklyn cohorts for a 4 track ep of superior edit stylings! on the a side cold blooded sources a classic, focusing on a hypnotic and rhythmic pattern for a solid 6 minutes before exploding into exuberant soul, while get down is a loose and greasy funk stomper. on the flip, dream machine is disco sampled perfection, chopped and sliced with evident love. finally, that sound takes us home with its thunderous drums, slap bass, and a tasteful peppering of soulful vocals.
LPHWHTDD (KAITA SANO / JACQUES RENAULT / LOVERS / KLUBBHUSET)
12" Vinyl UK11.07.17
the follow-up to last year’s lphwhtd! as with the last one, this is a collection of tunes from some of our friends and folks already on the label, though these, unlike those, are 100 percent new, not one of the four has been released online or elsewhere yet. keita sano, klubbhuset, lovers, and jacques renault. easy!
‘bout time we do something for record store day! only missed the last six. special 10-inch (our first!) of jacques renault and house of spirits, a.k.a. tom noble, material here. call it a remix swap twofer. the a is a jacques remix of house of spirits’ “holding on,” the original of which was put out by tim sweeney on his beats in space label. the b’s noble’s remix of “words,” one of the cuts off renault’s 2015 debut full-length, zentrum.
finally, a grip of edits from the lph extended family that have been circulating for years get to see the light of day! vinyl day! the light of vinyl day! jacques did one, laurence guy did one, jesse rudoy did one, elvin tibideaux did one, and private panther did one. seriously, thats all you need to know, so stop asking questions and just disc
beer serves up a second edition of edits, this time finely sliced & chopped by jacques renault. jacques doesn t go in for trickery, his quality as maker of edits shows clearly in these four cuts from henry rodrick, hnny, black fan and dj duke. this is certified dancefloor dynamite. limited stamped 12- ! .
the second of two zentrum spinoffs is with us! as with the first, it comes loaded with four remixes. octo octa, vito & druzzi, cooper saver and turbotito, and lemonade all handed in top-notch reimaginings of tracks off jacques renault s debut lp, which came out just under a year ago, and they all somehow manage to be unique unto themselves while also sublimely bleeding into one another. octo octas rendering of mi casa samba serves as a propulsive beginning thats as dark and druggy as it is sharp and focused. vito & druzzis take on faith runs in a similar vein, but in a more stripped-back, drawn-out, and patient sort of way, it is nearly ten minutes long, so this is perhaps not a surprise. the b s remixes are brighter, sunnier, though that s not to say they re not bold. cooper saver and turbotito s redo of words has a certain funky swing to it that, paired with spacey synths and balearic bells and whistles, makes it ideal daytime disco fodder. the lemonade boys close the ep with their vibey take on faith. pads for days, a plump bass, and a focus on the original s sax make you wonder if the song itself somehow got stoned from a couple extra giant bong rips. a fitting way to end both the 12inch and the summer.
most excellent unlimited is back with a homage to the primal roots of the dance floor, the disco break. this six-track, 12-inch ep gathers secret weapons from a diverse group of master re-editors who ve each provided their take on the venerable dj tool in the form of loops and grooves that will be welcome additions to the palettes of creative disc jocks everywhere. ranging from the minimal drum machine beats of daniel wang and alex from tokyo to the dramatic orchestration of tom noble s -samuel- and the whistle-laced afro disco of jacques renault (and a battle-ready acapella loop from danny krivit), most excellent breaks, beats & loops lives up to its name with a collection that pays respect to the lineage of the classic new york city edited break compilation.
baldos next ep is released on good ratio music, the label run by himself and his buddy carlo. as far as we remember the barcelona based producer had always an affinity for dirty drum-machines rhythms and buzzing analog sounds. baldo can be recognised by his choice of style, a fierce and confident house, pure in intent and effective in execution. and this is exactly what you should expect in this new ep. for the eighth instalment of the label they have the remix coming directly from nyc. the boss of lets play house, jacques renault has remixed the change, giving to the track a whole different mind to the track and making a round ep, ready to roll this summer.
we talked a ton about lph co-owner and -founder jacques renault s debut lp, zentrum, so let s keep things brief and cut to the chase for off zentrum, the first remix ep to be spun off from that record. four remixes, all by lph family members, all burners. first ones by borrowed identity, second one s by nicholas, third ons by massimiliano pagliara, fourth ones by max mcferren. how multicultural! that s two continents and four countries represented! hot dog!
jacques renault delivers two rare and fiery original tracks for his second release on esteemed us label public release, complete with remixes from velvet season & the hearts of gold plus a force of nature remix.

returning to the southern fried home, machine loving disco oddball andy meecham aka the emperor machine is back with a new single from his album, and it comes ahead of a full new ep in 2015. *pop the lid* comes with remixes by hotter than hot international talent jacques renault, with whom meecham has also collaborated on a new ep forthcoming on jacques lets play house label, and will come in the form of a hand stamped and numbered white label 12 inch, limited to 300 copies.
despite being an obsessive record collector for most his life, a globetrotting dj who s toured the world dozens of times over, a go-to remixer for numerous labels, both high profile and fledgling (dfa, mute, permanent vacation, warp, defected), co-owner of several imprints, lph itself being one of them, and producer behind a handful of house and disco tunes that started trickling out in the mid-aughts, jacques renault has managed to never release a true, honest to god ep comprised of originals. that s about to change with out of sync, a four- tracker that exemplifies all renault is, has been, and aspires to become —and that serves as a lead-up to his debut full-length, which will hit shelves next year

lph whites latest is another madefortheclub sureshot winner from label cofounder and owner jacques renault himself. if youve caught one of his sets around the world sometime this year, youve most likely heard the house banger? and consequently gone nuts. its impossible to resist the temptations of the bombastic drums, fat bass, chopped up vocals, and dubby synth hooks included within. a shining example of renault doing what he does best.
lets play house began the first half of 2013 with a single by label co-founder jacques renault, and now the guys are kicking off the second with three fresh remixes by international heavyweights tom trago, fantastic man (a.k.a. mic newman), and francis inferno orchestra.
lets play house begins 2013 much as it did the label itself, with a record by co-owner, brooklyn-based dj/producer jacques renault. unlike lph001, though, which featured a runaway original, lph013 was crafted by jacques on his own. and this is not a track to skip over or sleep on—its the mans first in three years!
hot on the heels of volume 12 and with a familiar let s get lost face at the helm, volume 13 welcomes jacques renault aboard once more and he s jumped genres yet again! after the relentless house edits of his last lgl voyage this release sees him return to the familiar waters of synthesizer prodded orchestral disco for the first two tracks and a saxophone and choir led afrobeat gem to round things off
his music is like a waterfall on house – organic, constantly running, sparkling and fresh.it could be the background tune for magazine beauties in st. tropez,it feels like a drive through californian valleys,or it may as well be the soundtrack tune for a full moon party on the greek islands - yes, it might indeed just be the result of many a club year. just as well, however, we can look at it as some sort of a flip side to those busy and dark times of dull and hard work back in the days, something to simply relax andm make you smile, after a hard days work, with a cigarette in one hand and a smooth drink in the other… imagine a piece of roxy music, a dancefloor in northern italy - some time in the late 80s - and joe smooths promised land.see what i mean?you picture this?well,in that case you have a pretty good idea of robertos serenades style.the original version of tell me feat.kholi is taken from the upcoming album dawn.
we are very happy to kick off 2012 with three killer house edits from our favorite new york producer/dj, jacques renault. all three tracks are expertly done and killer dj tools. this will be your timeless record.
