aula magna records presents atmen by mekas, a storming record that reveals the artist s latest techno explorations in full effect, featuring stockholm ltd label boss par grindvik as guest remixer. a techno statement shaped by melodic and rhythmic interactions that draw the listener into the artist’s profound sound world.
the a-side opens with the powerful beat of clark nova, a cut that moves forward with a modulating synth line and simple but cleverly designed percussions. this is followed by unknown soldier, an intense techno weapon that reflects the distinctive sound of mekas.
the b-side features both versions of atmen, starting off with par grindivik’s dance-floor rework of the title track that combines a fresh arpeggiated motif and a powerful groove with the emotional spirit of the original. atmen closes the record, an epic ambient techno track built with deep atmospheric synth lines on an intelligent stripped down breakbeat.
bringing his hallmarked temperament to the 4/4 format with beguiling results, weekend circuit welcome par grindvik for his first full length ep on the label. sole survivor performs an intense viewpoint of institutional rhythm. pencil sharp, and strikingly imperfect tones delude the mind and mistreat the senses. a virtuoso of par’s distinctive sound, is eager and apparent as ever in wcr016. breath is rich in melancholic atmosphere, drones and feedback loops a short yet multifaceted & hypnotic introduction leaving you no time to prepare for the incoming fervour of whats to come. detached is a perpetual motion of phenonmenal high energy - percussion avidly spliced together through a digital attention span. a strong, rumbling tower of unsettle that keeps coming back ever more bold and engaging. like a haunted soundtrack to a space odyssey, comes the simmering sound of hail fellow well met. conveying an otherworldliness, this 3 minute stance on electronic music moves with warped energy and glitch. wry fluidity grabs you by the feels and sustains an ominous tension over on the b side. sever is a maelstrom of consistent percussion, keeping a nervy uncertainty throughout, while left alone wields an ever evolving siren of searching sound & noise. grindvik at his best, this cathartic and rich variation of sound fulfills weekend circuit’s 16th release.
somewhere between par grindviks debut album >isle of real< and his more recent output with dax j and nihad tule lands his new solo ep, >mnemosyne<. first track >o maru< launches the three-track release with a hi-tempo, swirling vortex of kicks and claps. >dawn< opens side b with syncopated flams and twisted harmonics, while >70sheets< sees ethereal chords swell dramatically under a hypnotic groove.
the quality of stockholm ltds 2016 output has been hard to top, with acclaimed full length >isle of real< from label boss pär grindvik in may, followed by a split ep from grindvik and sloboda label head nihad tule in september. and the stockholm born, berlinbased imprint is right back with another lethal va, >a number of thoughts<. their 39th release combines contributions from dutchmen doka, sinfol and octual plus belgian newcomer phara, as well as grindvik himself.
ESCAPE THE SYSTEM - REMIXED (SLAM, ECHOPLEX, PAR GRINDVIK)
12" Vinyl NL16.09.16
dax j back in the game with a special remix pack to celebrate this sublime record. par grindivik delivers a total floor-filler, while echoplex take it to another level, b side duties to the soma owners, slam. we added also a revisited dub mix of the record, and a very helpful accappella. you judge.
stockholm ltd welcomes nihad tule to the label, pairing the sweden-based producer with label boss par grindvik for a split ep titled >landmarks<. each component of this five track release, although written separately, fits together like a story which was meant to be.
masterpiece! long awaited 2x12inch longplayer by stockholm limited mastermind par grindvik. the ten-track album will be the first full-length release for an internationally renowned producer and label owner who has been creating and releasing music for over twenty years.
2015 repress. its been four years since my last own ep on stockholm ltd. the main reason for this is that i have been surrounded by music that has inspired me much more than my own. this ep was written and produced with strict narrow frames and a huge amount of frustration. i was tired of waiting for the inspiration to kick in, then suddenly it appeared with a strength that i havent felt for long time. im now curious for more. while sketching the title track, >wyatt arp<, i couldnt get detroit legend, terrence dixon, out of my mind. terrence is a long time hero of mine, and an artist that always stays on the true side of what we do while most of us occasionally leave our paths. i had to ask him to do a rework. / par grindvik
skewed soundscapes permeate fragments of gritty beats and swirling rhythms on this 12 minute epic from swedish artist dungeon acid. label boss par grindvik reaffirms his talent for both a&r and production, delivering 2 frenetically charged reinterpretations on the flip.

the latest instalment from par grindviks techno institution stockholm ltd sees stefan vincent making his label debut, lining up with the persuader and a&s on the a-side to deliver 3 lush listening pieces ranging from dub to ambient. the flip side features two works of titanic, timeless techno from stefan vincent and par grindvik himself.
jubilee for dystopian… not only the number 005 for the label, also 5 years of dystopian showcases around the world and a good working agency and label since 2012 – the dystopian guys want to say thank you with that special release. and what fits better to invite some long term guests to remix dystopian artists ?! first, we invited pär grindvik who played the second dystopian party ever in 2010 to remix the already wonderful >stone edge< by felix k. and what else to say, that one turned out into a tribal techno monster.second remixer is function – he played the every first dystopian event back in 2009 (you remember, as sandwell district live, ben klock, shed and rodhad).. so, this time it s our pleasure – and to get a good balance to the a-side, he delivered a groovy hypnotizing minimalistic tool.. you need to let i grow, but than this track getting you from behind :)
if you have a lighter in your pocket, light it up! par grindvik with a huge detroitesc and dark 3 tracker on his own imprint sinister. thats what we call techno! andre kronert takes the light and switched it finally off thru an unstopable rolling and hard hitting rework! sinister!! shrinked.
vinyl only! split ep between a&s records and stockholm limited. labelheads of both labels joint forces in order to bring us this amazing 4 tracker. first limited pressing comes in handnumbered, white vinyl with handstamped artwork.
i fight myself to sleep, my eyelids, heartbeats are lead weights of despair and sor-rows. the years disappeared within loneliness. to manage staying alive i keep my visions to myself. you were once my friend, a sinister. the sinister composition was written by par grindvik during 2009 and 2010. writing sinister was part of a healing process. the original sinister was never meant to be released - and it will probably never be. however, in 2010 par came up with the idea of handing out parts from the original, to a few of his friends, and to release different interpretations derived from these parts. the new interpretations would mark the beginning of a new label project cal¬led sinister. next to par’s own rework of the original, you will find the following interpretations. samuel l session (klap klap, music man, soma, be as one), s100 (stockholm ltd), gary beck (minus, soma, saved), staffan linzatti (stockholm ltd, searchlights), jesper dahlbäck (isl, drumcode, h-prod)
full support from the likes of adam beyer, joel mull, paco osuna, and many more!
enemy returns from the summer hiatus with a huge remix package courtesy of tony rohr & par grindvik! tony takes the hypnotic groove and brings it up to the surface, reformed as a bouncey club rocker similar to his output on clink! par grindvik wastes no time as his remix immediately plunges into the depths of the abyss, offering up an equally weird and rewarding listening experience. we would describe it, but it s kind of impossible!
an extremely tasty 4 tracker from the massively talented par grindvik. the a1 is a real killer with its rising synths and sledgehammer drums whereas the a2 is a perfect contrast with its slow intense minimal groove. the b1 again is a real floor burner with its driving groove and clever synth edits halfway. the record closes with a superb more minimal interpretation yet agin. drumcode again proves it is still one of the most cutting edge imprints around... limited backstock available
sure bomb !! dj support - carl craig, adam beyer, dubfire, monika kruse, shinedoe, christian smith, len faki ... this is the second of 2 fat remix records on drumcode of the 2 most popular tracks taken from the dc10 years album compilation last year. this release sees the truly awe inspiring >do us part< track from par grindvik get 2 classy overhauls from 2 producers of the moment - len faki and 2000 and one. lens remix is a real floor burner cleverly weaving hook parts of the original around a simple driving drum and bassline groove before building cleverly and introducing a harder hook later on to devastating efffect. on the flipside dylan aka 2000 and one adds his typical funky dutch trademark by using the same trippy synth hooks but also adding funky bass patterns and warped synth fx.
par grindvik is fast tracking through the ranks extremely quickly and is widely considered by many in the techno community to be one of the best producers out there at the moment. his releases over the last few years for adam beyers drumcode imprint as well as for labels such as stockholm ltd particulary his recent nand-grind release have gotten some seriously heavy rotation from some of the most influential djs on the planet. here for adam beyers truesoul imprint he delivers what can only be described as a 3 track masterpiece. the epic 11 minute a side has massive carl craig influences and is a breathtaking deep journey that peaks and drops relentlessly with its morphing mood changes and amazing production
par grindvik has turned out to be an expert in stripping techno tracks to bare minimum, without these loosing power of groove. par has already worked with newcomer linzatti on his label and now the boys team up once again for the rotterdam based shadowfax !!
the a side by hardcell and grindvik again has faultless production with its razor sharp drum intro before the pulsing lead sounds drop and the fat percussion edits envelope the track to create a truly intense feel. on the flip adam beyer delivers a truly awesome interpretation cleverly using the main parts but adding rich layers of atmospherics to create a very rich sounding deeper feel. this is a very, very serious release
this year adam beyer s seminal drumcode label celebrates its 10th anniversary. to commemorate this there will be a wealth of material coming out this year as well as some special drumcode parties after the summer that will feature hardcell and grindviks amazing live act. this follows their live cd release from the end of last year. as part of this the gain series will now continue with more material from these 2 and this is the first 4 tracker to continue the series. the tracks themselves are a fresh and varied ranging from the hard synth driven anthem that is salt and the harder driving rhythm gate bay to the exceptionally subtle groove with deep chords that is plankton to the sublime fish tank with its clever building feel and uplifting pads
this 2nd part contains 2 huge tracks. the a side has been hugely sought after for months with its large break and catchy analogue riff. received massive amounts of play from djs right across the board such as sven vath, fergie, marco bailey and christian smith
transparent vinyl. part 2 of 2.this latest ep on enemy maybe the most psychedelic and hypnotic release the label has released thus far. psychedelic hypnotism may sound like a bad acid rant from the >summer of love,< but this 2 part vinyl ep will prove you otherwise. the first vinyl focuses on the more abstract side of the dance floor, leading off with rrose and donato. perfect for the beginning of the evening or the early morning. the second vinyl is the more club-oriented accompaniment courtesy of jesper dahlback and grindvik & zahn.
ltd to 100 copies tranparent vinyl editon ... incl s100, pfirter & grindvik, skudge, the rumours aka s. linzatti & p.grindvik, oliver kapp and tom diciccio !! to clarify the meaning of sthlm ltd 022. on sthlm ltd 022 i would like to shed light upon a few artists who, in recent times, inspired me, in one way or another. older ones and new ones. we embark with s100, a cluster of machines and people from stockholm, who share the love of playing live. in addition to the stockholm ensemble we have juan pablo pfirter, a man who brings mad joy to any dancefloor but also constantly seizes the attention of the blog generation. there is also skudge, the swedish duo who with their simple patterns and oldschool vibes made people worship true techno again. as well as staffan linzatti, who is the best studio mate in the world, and oliver kapp, the founder of the labels indulge and raygun. oliver s music has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, so i was proud to invite him to do a remix for stockholm ltd. last but not least tom dicicco, a bass and dub loving youngster from the midlands currently based in manchester, who after a few releases on various labels co founded the great label inner surface. pär grindvik, 2011
