a very special release here from legendary rave producer eon, aka ian loveday. loveday, who passed away in 2009, was known and loved for his enduring impact on uk dance culture, although sadly this was the one and only release on his zarnak records imprint (although loveday himself released 12 inches on a host of labels including pal sl, vinyl solution and plus 8). upon release the papal magnet 12 inch sold out swiftly and soon became a highly sought after record - this batch was found recently and has been passed onto us with the blessing of lovedays family. on the a side you will find the relentless late night throb of >cable rider< - 90s techno at its finest. flip over for the moody introspection of >passing clouds< and raw, dusty analogue thump of >crosstown< - our pick of the bunch. an excellent release.

shadow ray is best known in house music circles as the co-producer of the oasis 1, 13, 13 1/2 and 14 releases with omar s, although he is also well known to the ryan correctional facility for more nefarious reasons. the detroit-based producer has spent the past four years at ryan earning not only a hard knocked life but a trade in sound engineering. that was until alex smith (aka omar s) made a presentation to the facility s parole board to commission a remix of his recent hit >heres your trance now dance< as part of rays work release program! rumour has it the parole board was inhabited by at least one old school house head, and we re delighted to see alexs idea come to fruition, with shadow ray really nailing it with this remix. staying true to original s shimmering melody, ray opts to bolster the bottom end with a raw bassline that creates a nice, fat rolling groove

grime has been clawing its way back to the centre of underground uk music in a big way recently, riding a new wave of credibility in futurist iterations from terror danjah, hyperdub, and butterz. but with the rising profile of figures like slackk and the eski-aping sound of becoming real and sometimes jam city, theres been a pseudo-lionization and a growing mythology surrounding classic grime. honestly, its been a long time coming, the music is legendary for a reason. terror danjahs new(ish) hardrive label takes a bold step in 2011 with a sharp look back-ward, and in typically cyclical fashion it feels perfectly now. dating all the way back to 2004, p jams >anger management< is a minimal monster of a tune, slamming with the same slurred and blurred percussive elements of wileys essential >ice rink<.

supported by: pol_on, deetron, moodymanc, maya jane coles, kris wadsworth, ethyl, el txef a, james teej, and some other nice lads. londoner huxley has been one of the names to watch over the past year after the success of his and ethyls releases on tsuba and cecille. these were closely followed by releases on kolour and fear of flying and remixes for the likes of sasse, lee burridge and andre crom. huxley returns here with some proper house music. the lead track, devoted, effortlessly blends the old and new, while the two b side tracks show that huxley is anything but a one trick pony. perception of truth shows his techier side, whilst linked out shows his affinity to raw, analogue house music

reggie dokes returns to his second home... clone royal oak, with 3 amazing tracks. emotional and passioned house tracks that come straight from the heart! raw, unpolished music... just as we like it! title track once again has received a remix treatment by two young dutch producers called morning factory. these guys show the same passion for their productions as reggie, and they delivered a great edit version that added some extra energy to the original mix (which is not on this record... might come later). a combination send from heaven! another clone royal oak that will stay in the box for a loooong time!

cronlog, new label by rocco caine starts straight away with two very special tracks somehow dark and deep but definitely groovy and, of course, in the best deep- and dubtechno style and thats not all, another extremely interesting track to come is a dub rework from sawf (perc trax). almost a dj tool for its functionality and remarkable elements, this track shouldnt be missing in any techno set!
