the first and most important of the four food groups is flapjacks. a great example of this is in bryan jones flapjackin jam low flow. the beats are as thick with butter milk and the bass is fluffy and melts in your ears. the second food group and a perfect complement to the first is syrup. czech republics arco gives us a sugery delight entitled first time, which can be poured or spread over just about everything from toast and flapjacks to spaghetti noodles. this tune has a nice and deep brown maple sound that like syrupy goodness, sweetens up every mix. the third basic food group is eggs, everyones favorite baby animal embryo treat. melbourne, australias house mopper d-t3ch, plucked the perfect egg from his prized chicken with his spoken word groove give & take. in this smooth bumpin scenario, the chicken gives the egg, and d-t3ch takes it and whips it up into a wonder house omelet. the last but certainly not the least of the 4 basic food groups is the bacon. bacon just makes everything better. oregons forrest avery & derty d definitely take the bacon with their super fried, crispy, salty smash hit the perfect beat. this tune does to a club what bacon does to your heart…it clogs dance floors

on this 12 inch k’alexi is dropping the poetic smooth voice over the remixes of “you are” ov takes it into the jazzy feel with sublime bass and chord structure as we are used to from him. fluffy sounds and smooth backround vocal stabs that makes you want to replay it after it’s finished. maurice joshua is bumping you out your seat with his energetic samba house flavor mix of “you are . this track is right in the middle and can be played in a techno room as well. norman chung is discovered by k’ alexi and provides a supersolid mix-edit of k’s original. words keys and rhythm are dominating the track. flawless production make this a great contribution to this ep. k’ alexis dub mix is uptempo tech-soul-house and will be easily picked up by the techno dj as it is a great tool. echoing “you are’s” floating around and drives you into a haunting synth soundscape.

spirit catcher is becoming more and more a permanent member of the systematic family. after their debut e.p. last year and their contribution to the >5ysyst< project last summer, these three tracks are their latest productions on my systematic imprint. something which always impresses me a lot is how jean and tom continue todevelop their distinctive spirit catcher sound, no matter if they release on 20:20 vision, nrk, moodmusic or elsewhere. its always an awesome mixture of fluffy driving house beats, a portion of deepest darkness and freshhypnotic sounds figures! i love the way how they do install the dark organ melody at >sedona<. the organ soundspretty outta space and lets me float away once i have closed my eyes. also, the mystic mood at >future fools<generates me a goose skin, every time i hear it. dead soul brothers is that man herve again, along with production partner seba. the eight track double pack opens with a four cuts of dancefloor hysteria - the type you would expect from the man herve. it also includes a killer rerub from phones too. the ep then turns into a blissed out, dreamy electronic psyche album reminiscent of rubber soul era beatles not what youd be expecting at all! its very much in that chemical brothers vein one minute bangin, the other all fluffy and deep. limited to 500 copies and totally needed.
