50% deal laura jones has had a breakthrough 2012. fulfilling touring dreams and winning the hearts of the global scene with her sensual melodic house and seductive, driving dj sets, it may come as a surprise that let me in is lauras first, albeit highly anticipated, solo ep. dropping on visionquest, let me in develops lauras signature sound, painting a fuller picture of the artist through deeper techno shades, live vocals and trademark hypnotic style.

ethiopian records aka endeguena mulu’s arcola 12” ye feqer edaye / የ,ፍ,ቅ,ር, እ,ዳ,ዬ, arrives in three tracks of fully frontal psychedelic electronic body music. make no mistake, this is club gear as you have never heard it before, a fever-dream rush of ethiopiyawi electronic that sits equally within the crucially current club sounds of gqom, nyege nyege, cargaa and principe as it does with the greatest sides from tribe of colin, zarate_fix, sex tags amfibia and 12th isle.
after releases by cez and ashac, high ends returns with an ep by thomas romain and his mother, famed free jazz pianist christine wodrascka. christine’s style is wholly unique: there are no barriers for her sonic exploration. sound matter, energy, forms, architecture and emotion all play a part in shaping the style of one the most unique musicians out there. with influences such as cecile taylor, terry riley or thelonious monk, no two wodrascka performances are the same. in his own irregular style, thomas adds a sense of swing to his mother’s improvisations. this fusion of acoustic and electronic creates wholly original experimental journeys which will delight the auditory senses of those listening.
sharif laffrey can charm the snake out of any basket. this is his first offering for the esp institute. side as tangier is a long drawn-out exercise, an endurance test of the highest order. over the span of some thirteen minutes, elements bob and weave intermittently and layers overlap haphazardly the type of exciting dynamic that s born out of restrictio as if putting down a live jam without enough hands to work the console, yet sharif perseveres. as touch and go as this arrangement may be, there is something that undoubtedly glues it all in place the combination of his massive rolling 16th-note bassline and his tough-as-nails drumkit is so good that, upon first listen, we spat out our tea and insisted on its release. on side b, everything is nice carries on with loose arrangement, dirty production and layers of inexplicable spoken word samples (a sharif calling card by now) but this time we re lead to a melancholy place, the blue comedown to side as antagonistic trial. with his esp institute debut, sharif leaves you mentally unhinged, as if youve smoked something interesting and arrived bewildered in some saharan labyrinth. these two songs will guide you through the medina to score the black meat.
the first release is coming with 4 high-talented players: skymark, nas1, jose rico and gari romalis. each producer delivers something different on this debut ep, expect crispy acid sketches, running mpc sequences, synths unleashed and a jackin’ low end.

sean miller makes a triumphant return to seth troxler’s play it say it imprint with a new single that has already been getting played by tastemakers like luciano. in addition to the original, k’alexi shelby serves up a fine remix that makes this another vital package.
jonah sharp & dj spun pair up as the loose control band to drop a punk-inspired single on rekids with remixes from label founder radio slave and shut boss ryan james ford. having released a large body of work as spacetime continuum (astralwerks) or alongside david moufang as reagenz (workshop), not to mention significant collaborations with the likes of terence mckenna, haruomi hosono and bill laswell, jonah sharp is unquestionably a highly respected producer. his seminal label reflective played an important role in the experimental ambient and techno scene during the ‘90s, whilst as a remixer he’s worked with music by nine inch nails, meat beat manifesto and matthew herbert. meanwhile, jason drummond has long been a commanding force within new yorks electronic music scene, such as running his prestigious warm up music series or his all night rong parties with regulars like dj harvey. hes also been djing and producing as dj spun for two decades, appearing on golf channel recordings as well as his own illustrious imprint rong music, which used to release music collaboratively with dfa. i dont understand sees a raw and uncompromising side to both artists as they layer a cacophony of murky bass, twisted melodies and mind-bending bleeps whilst drummonds turbulent vocals bellow throughout the mix. staying faithful to the original, radio slaves remix incorporates a heady rhythm with its rolling beat as screeching effects join a moody bassline. moving into techno territory, ryan james fords akihabara remix features rattling percussion and crystalline synths whilst his hope remix is built on an intricate drum sequence as soaring pads and echoing keys contrast with the originals piercing vocal.
a newcomer on the label’s lineups, mary delivers a distinctive balancing act between bleepy ambient listening and free thinking, heart-rending, dancefloor material. river is an invitation extended to listeners to lose themselves in sound with light tones, graceful harmonics, and smart rhythms. running through idm inflexions, ambient sound baths and low-key house hypnotics, it’s music that seems to have fallen out of time. river is an invitation extended to listeners to lose themselves in sound with light tones, graceful harmonics, and smart rhythms. running through idm inflexions, ambient sound baths and low-key house hypnotics, its music that seems to have fallen out of time.
“remains”, magda ter’s sophomore album, has been created over the past two years changing its shape several times. it is a compromise between static, experimental background music and soothing techno glimpses with some samples of acoustic instruments. as a result, the album has contemplative colours, although hidden beneath the surface of seemingly uninvolved sounds.
due to this fact ter’s music cannot be pigeonholed. one can even say that “remains” leaves the audience with a huge amount of space for their own feelings and interpretations of the individual sequences, while simultaneously dropping some vague cues. thus, we are dealing with one of the most intriguing electronic polish releases in recent years.
nyc native eric maltz has been a professional producer and pianist for more than 20 years. after landing on the techno scene in 2017 with the double vinyl “ns-17” ep on levon vincent’s novel sound, eric maltz releases his first single on his own label flower myth. opening on the title track , a bruising slice of machine techno, the live touch of the new-york producer stands out throughout “pathway”. on “ah-shu-de-ohu”, paranoid chimes swirl out of focus while chopped up vocals command attention. free floating chords glide through a meditative soundscape on closer “line through”. flower myth will release 4 more singles from eric maltz throughout 2018, one of them a collaboration with cristina valentina, the powerful voice from “we have power” (ns17). having recently signed with uzuri booking and artist management, eric will soon be bringing his singular live techno to his home-base city of berlin and other major cities across europe and the world.
seth troxler’s play it say it label opens up 2018 with another release from the highly regarded ataxia, who serve up their third ep for the imprint. the detroit duo impressed with their previous outings on the label, the supertouch ep back in july 2017 and the acid ep in 2016. since then they have also released on leftroom and nervous and continued their eight year residency at prominent detroit venue tv lounge. their fresh take on motor city techno often comes with flashes of acid and makes cyber punks ted krisko and eric ricker one of the most interesting pairs in the game. opening up the essential ep is ‘quicksand’, an immediately arresting and busy electro track with real machine soul. the bassline bubbles and boils underneath crisp percussion and emotive keys bring a sense of tenderness. it’s a macho cut with robust drums and is sure to win over any crowd. the fresh ‘hot snakes’ is a deep, menacing track with dark bass gurgling beneath the airy hi hats. frazzled synths are dystopian and brain frying, and together the whole thing takes you into hypnotic territory with an intense sense of urgency that is impossible to ignore. last of all is the freakiest of the lot. the brilliant ‘texas is the reason’ has circling bass that is warped and intriguing and will own any club, while the drums drive on and trippy keys are skewed and twisted up top. it’s a truly intense record for late in the night that is sure to become a big tune. this is an expressive and varied ep full of contemporary and innovative detroit house and techno sounds and marks another step in the ataxia story.
mandala trax aka shingo suwa and dj mori is releasing a first ep on merkur schallplatten. shingo has established the label in 2008. dj mori is working as resident dj at suicide circus berlin. they often performed at many clubs in the city. their first collaboration includes two different versions of rave influenced techno remixes by anna bolena. anna is music producer, promoter and video maker, she is an underground activist since the 80 s. she runs the label idroscalo dischi since 1999 and since 2005 the video production company idroscalo digitale. they both are working as resident for buttonÆs party at ://about blank. a1, their very first track, is called 11pm. the main solid synth line features deep kick drums surrounded by dubby industrial effects in the background. on a2 we find a heavy bottom groove, surrounded by echoes in a dark atmosphere. hand claps and white noises are driving any techno floor. the b side includes two different version by anna bolena. she produced some 90Æs rave structures affected by her experimental senses.
!! ltd 50% off edition !!! clash lion is a mix of three personalities shall ocin, terr and daniel watts. three artists with different musical backgrounds merging forces to create a truly eclectic and open minded label. after the standout success of their debut release from maetrik in september, the labels second helping comes from label co-owner, shall ocin, known for his heavy use of modular synths, analog rhythmboxes and custom-made effects his bounty hunter ep is definitely unique. cicada layers atmospheric modulations, slow pulsating synth work on top of a booming bass drum. dark synth tones resonate to create real exploration of sound. raw, and somewhat ethereal in its composition ‘bounty hunter’ layers frequency patterns in a fresh formation, leading into a heady path of sound texture before its thunderous release with a booming synth riff. the labels mission to achieve eclectic, no boundaries electronic music has been displayed throughout this release from shall, with the final track yummy jam creating an experimental electronica vibe, showing his passion for innovation.
if you are wondering what the artist wanted to tell you by choosing this title, we will give you a small hint: it’s a cynical statement on something that for sure every party promoter has experienced at some point. the rest, we will leave up to your imagination… in real life, there’s no mercy – neither is when it comes to the sound of this new snork release by syntax error. the four new tracks with meaningful names are not only a social criticism and another artistic processing of the current development of the techno scene, but also a classic syntax error: rough, tricky and good to groove. each track stands on its own, telling another story. “collateral cosmopolitan” is a straight forward piece with a highly memorable beat talking about the uniformity that is creeping in the waiting lines of more and more techno clubs. “i wear my grandpa’s glasses” presents a totally dodgy sound, which might be a little oldschool and even a little irritating – just like some fashion items you encounter on today’s big city streets. “no fog is no solution” is a tight song that definitely needs some good fog and a harsh strobe. and finally, the last track sounds like a futuristic fairy tale from outer space looking on the world as if it is a “society bathysphere”.
after twenty years at the center of the electronic scene, the enigma that is chlo? still stands. while chloe has long transcended her image as the dj behind legendary club night pulp, headlining the rex as well as clubs and festivals throughout europe, endless revisions represents yet another deviation from rigid genre classification, deepening the often-linear perspectives on current music. a rich and multi- faceted work, the artistas captivating third album drifts from one mystery to the other, harkening back to philosopher theodor w. adornoas maxim: the task of art today is to bring chaos into order.
ten years after his first release, uk artist lone is putting out his first ever commercial mix cd. his entry into the celebrated dj-kicks series lands on 29th september and features four of his own new and exclusive tracks. born matt cutler and raised in nottingham, lone has emerged as a standout artist over the last decade. starting out making hip hop, he has distinctly evolved with each new release. yet whether making house, breakbeat or jungle, his music always remains identifiable thanks to its bright melodic colours. as well as running his own magicwire label—home to early albums like emerald fantasy tracks and recent music from ross from friends, who features here, and project pablo—he has also released on werk discs and dekmantel. over the course of three full lengths since 2012, though, he has also become an essential artist in the modern r&s family. lone’s dj-kicks very much feels alive, lived-in and authentic. it is a hugely personal view into his unique musical world and marks another landmark entry into !k7 s long running series.
the double vinyl is housed in a gatefold sleeve with download code included.

matt edwards drops his eagerly anticipated debut radio slave album feel the same via his rekids imprint in september. easily his most recognisable nom de plume, radio slave was initially matt s pseudonym for remixes, with early reinterpretations of kylie minogue and new order leading into frequent work for both major and independent labels. he s now indisputably one of house and techno s most in-demand remixers, whilst original radio slave productions have gone on to appear via reputable imprints like running back, r&s, ostgut ton, nonplus and work them records.

new years deal - one of the most unconventional techno tracks which were released during the last years. catchy pop like and unbelivieable dark at the same time. h-friend starts at the peak and then progressively reduces itself into an intro that is actually the outro of this song. (black) devil like totally reverted

back in stock since a long time ... for years, jeff mcilwain has been recording music as lusine that expertly straddles the electronic/pop divide, with a certain distance, mcilwain cracks open his productions to reveal the beauty lurking within. a certain distance sees mcilwain employing human vocals and pop structures, hooks and melodies in the service ofsomething warmer and more welcoming than the lusine of old. mapping human emotions via technology may be an insurmountable task, but a certain distance brings mcilwain closer than most to achieving the impossible.
finnish techno icon mono junk aka kim rapatti joins forces with berlin based freestyle man aka klas sasse lindblad, known for his productions on classic labels like sähkö and moodmusic. pata ep starts with the hard hitting techno title ‘not a love story’, haunting vocals, simple synthline, slicing percussion and deep bassdrum, all u need to make an effect, this must be heard in a big sound system. following with ‘need your lovin’ the ep takes a more electro approach, mesmerising love story with jupiter-8 bassline and 808 beats accompanied with vocals on this track too by mr rapatti. the ep ends with ‘stella polaris’, a production which started as a jam in 2007 in berlin at sasse’s blackhead studios and was finished 10 years later in 2017 in the same location. reminiscing of early 90s electronica time when everything was pure and gold and when these fellows also were starting their careers. ‘stella polaris’ leaves no one cold with emotional themes of analog synthesis and depth of the bass.
a new series begins! ultracool atmospheric deeper berlin underground style anthems. no digital, limited press, antistatic innersleeve, shrink wrapped. take the journey and let yourself beat to the rhythm of ruhleben
after 10 years of existence in berlins ambitious music scene, golden gate club has achieved cult status in his own right through out the world. it is a very special place with its own living soul. yet a small venue it shows a high profile, distinct character and a very original and authentic spirit. to manifest this state, the golden gate club establishes ist own record label >ggcr<. the opening release carries the characteristic name >golden era< by swedish dj and producer anders hellberg. still a new member of the underground, his style strikingly represents what golden gate stands for. namely an impassioned, intense and organic sound with high recognition value. four tracks with the same ingredients but different prescriptions. an analog production through and through, with 303 based rhythms and blazing 80s pads. very intense and haunting but still guarding a sweet and hypnotic atmosphere.
the seventh instalment in the rhythm nation series is by the uk producer isaac reuben. these jams are rough, raw and ready. they bear the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed signature of someone untarnished by exposure yet betray a complete vision and total control of the craft.
the label say: what is soul really? the answer to that is a various as the music that claims it. we here at wph hq do not know the answer either, but we do know an exceptional piece of music when we hear it. enter fabrice lig, belgian techno legend with his roots in our little country and his ears definitely in that place called detroit.
italian label spazio disponibile continues its fine run of form with a new ep that features four collaborative tracks by the bosses voices from the lake (aka donato dozzy and neel) versus semantica boss svreca. the ep is a result of their first studio session all together in rome. all three have been perfecting cinematic ambient techno for years now and have the cerebral, atmospheric aesthetic down to a tee. here they offer up proof across a series of hypnotic tracks that take you deep into your own mind. it s alien and abstract yet wholly consuming and will zone you out in no time.
this is land of dance, we’ve reached the tenth release and we want to celebrate it with an album, fifteen tracks and artists divided into four vinyls (two double pack) including music by: seldom seen aka santiago salazar, jared wilson, ricardo miranda, nightjars aka analogue cops, healing force project, boston 168, drvg cvltvre, xxxv gold finger, jann, passenger and dave hargadon (slowburn) plus some new names such as: andrea vietti, seven sins and müskije lycheeni. the tracklist has been thought as a dj set that evolves from ambient to jazz to house to techno. this is land of dance!
cuplet makes a stomping return with its second release, set to become quintessential for the revived techno sound, leaving andrei ciubucs imagination running wild on this 2-tracker. both record sides, overwhelming in the low frequencies area, are painting a dark industrial canvas for andreis devilish signature groove, syncopated for strei2 yet harmonized within the bassline for cel putin.
smoky techno, cuplet style, coming soon on a dancefloor near you!
hotflush welcome lara wehbie aka blursome to the ranks with her debut ep “rendition of you”. raised in north carolina and currently residing in brooklyn, wehbie has come a long way since beginning to work on music in 2011 as a way of channeling her diagnosed depression and anxiety. she describes her work as a transitional darkness, something she says defined her sound even before she could manage the software she uses to make it. in her own words, “rendition of you ep signifies major transitions in my life over the past year and how my environment truly played a role in handling situations. it s a testament to how much happier i am now than i used to be. i still struggle but i m truly thankful for the influences i have around me that have made me a better individual and artist.” along the way she has attended the red bull music academy bass camp in 2015, and after an appearance on scuba s 2016 fabric mix, she debuts on the label with an experimental six track ep. side a of -rendition of you- introduces listeners to her experimental use of vocals and heavy percussive influences from the left field genre. side b dives straight into dance floor material with pounding kicks and and interjecting vocals, but then slowly winds down into a more melancholic ending with piercing synths rattling through to the last drop.

wareika steps up for the amphias 12th vinyl chapter. the german trio walks off the beaten techno trail, applying just enough pressure on the bassline pedal to envelope your attention on the sinusoidal theme from break new sol, revealing at the end a rewarding guitar solo, hidden all this time under the crisp percussions. on a train again completes side a, with its industrial ambient modulations steadily stabbed by the derailed cadence.
sit reinterprets wareika on side b: a more dancefloor oriented take, with just a few breaks from the devilish rhythm, enough to give the crowd some time to breathe into the tracks odd atmosphere. wareika s playful harmony makes a great addition to amphias musical path.
creepin in plays with the gray areas that exist between genres, contrasting with the clarity of the digital synths and over saturated analog drums. next up ineffekt is acid electro cut with thrashing percussion held together with 808 drums. red alert is the only track with a vocal. classic roland drums, deep sub and hardware synths mixed with the hypnotic vocal overlays make this one for the freaks. sky pager is slow cooked mid 90 s jacking business, the kind i m known for. 808 trash pile is an acid hammer of a cut with the drum and synth doing a maniacal game of call and response.
chicagos dj clent has long been revered as one of the founding figures of the city s unique juke and footwork scene. having released some of the genres earliest examples of the sound hes rightfully respected as a dj and producer in the game. 100% ghetto we 2 ghetto 4 ya! was originally released in 1998 on the legendary dance mania label and has been long sought after by fans of juke, footwork and the ghetto house sound and is quite a tough record to track down often commanding collectors prices in the used market. across 7 tracks covering various styles clent gives us his rough, ready and raw sound. uncompromising, heavy, frenetic and just plain jacking this ep still packs a serious punch! the sinister, brooding 3rd wurle still manages to sound foreboding and otherworldly, while straight up ghetto house staples let me hit it (from the back) and bang that rat still rock any soundsystem today! this is the first time 100% ghetto we 2 ghetto 4 ya! has ever been reissued in full, just as it was originally released in 1998, complete with original dance mania label artwork. 100% legit, reissued in conjunction with dance mania records, chicago il and parris mitchell. we bout it
even though “darkness on the edge of ecstasy” is the first album by jonatan bäckelie under his given name, the singer from gothenburg is not a newcomer at all. under the moniker ernesto he already released four rather jazzy longplayers. as pinku vääty or jong tan bäckelie takes care exclusively of his electronic productions. and over the last few months and years he collected international acclaim as a gifted guest singer. for example on alex barck s debut (“reunion”) on sonar kollektiv.

nice price deal !!! meet thorsteinssøn. the iceland-born-denmark-bred gunnar thor viggosson better known as one half of 76-79 with tommy vicari jnr and bossman at comfortable records and vanity. right now, though, were calling him the man behind the first pets artist album this year… deliciously cosmic and cheerily schizophrenic, academy of heroes is inspired by a brilliant creative project thorsteinsson practiced during his years living in amsterdam: solar industry radio.
mystery, poetry, a play of masks: artistic creation according to john cravache. his collaboration with versatile dates back to the beginning of the millennium. a childhood friend of i:cube, he is 44 years old, lives in a paris suburb, and is not a professional artist. getting involved in writing, he has been boasting his artistic and economic independence and his crafty attitude outside of the industrial system. he gave himself time to invent a personal world, wild and funny, which eventually gave birth to the album -cités nomades-. even though his influences are quite varied and avant-garde (magma, captain beefheart, tom waits), they did not really affect this unclassifiable project. poetry and mystery come before all, because john cravache is appearing masked. john cravache and nicolas chaix (i:cube) have recorded radio creations since the early 90s, in particular for chimère fm in paris, as well as numerous long improvised music sessions. at the approach of the millennium, they embarked on the creation of an album that was not completed until sixteen (!) years later. john is a poet, accomplished pianist, and registered truck driver and nicolas, a self-taught musician, have both made the realisation of -cités nomades- possible. this is not an ironic pop album, this album is simply all you want. listening will do you much good

with new wake up! ep further apart lerosa s mark of fluent, elemental and strong work offers increasingly deeper sulphuric and acid sounds. down reaching, complex grooves and rhythms give direction into solid moving tracks - where i want to dance. currently located in the emerald isle of ireland, you wonder if context gives form to lerosa s sound, a permanently sodden landscape offering the backdrop. weighty tracks such as terza persona seat layers of digital, organic beats, peals and stabs that contain the same sort of dark nourishment that staring at a black bog in connemara* might evoke. despite its wide, dark tones, lerosa s tracks always contain a dimension of upbeat empathic elements which make it so attractive, the kinda pelvic push and pull where you wish you had the foot work to pelt out some shapes. *connemara is a district in the west of ireland, the boundaries of which are not well defined

pure worries from leipzig — three club burners steeped in detroit traditions, distilling the explorations in collective, nervy hypnosis of km live sets. as the music slowly unfurls, there he is at every turn, subtly tweaking its parameters, redistributing its weight, pricking its grooves into a state of utterly infectious perpetual movement. the two visions of chilazon track opposite pathways: the first is twelve minutes of gorgeous, dubwise, aquatic techno, spattered with kicks and razor-sharp hi-hats, and smeared with ghostly echoes, then a terse mesh of broken drums, escalating to a quiet yet feverishly intense peak. lanthanum is calligraphic swordplay, its toms and bass stabs warily circling one another in a graceful steppers’ dance, spaced-out and fathoms-deep

some records just barely nudge your consciousness, but they do so in such an intriguing manner that their tentativeness and ephemerality lure you in deeper than you expect. such is the case with overflow pool by mogador, a new project by will long. this prolific producer—who is best known for his profoundly meditative ambient music under the name celer—favors the longform, beatless approach to composition, as he lets his rigorously honed tones unspool with a gentle insistence.

this track has been in my computer since a little while when dj sotofett joined me here in amsterdam, to play an epic back to back at the school (amazing new club here). when i am doing a track, it could go to a lot of different directions as im jamming them for hours in my pipe studio. i sometimes could get lost. so i asked sotofett to join me in the studio to help to finish it. then we ended with those 2 versions of cham, which are, as often when i work with the sextags man, the result of live takes almost unedited. we also add some percussions from shadi khries and we recorded two versions of the same track within hours. one being bass driven with a lot of psychedelic noises and the other one more space-techno. our adventures continues, here is another slice of spaced out music.hope you ll enjoy.

cray76, joakim’s dance project, is back with a 2-track ep.
on the a-side, this is what we would call a banger here at crowdspacer. simple, stupid, raw, funky. is it a tribute to new york? not sure but the b side certainly is. to be more precise it’s a tribute to merce cunningham, the legendary choreographer, close collaborator of john cage and genius thinker who inspired the name of the label. based on a recorded lecture by merce, the eponymous track is a slow, hypnotic and organic house groove, an ode to movement and ny avant garde, because “...dancing is a visible action of life.”

three cuts of heady, cerebral bliss guaranteed to push any dancefloor a little further out into the interstellar, in russell s hands, clay wilson s e4 becomes a spaced-out stepper s delight. his rework of romans coptos lets the acidic undertones of the original run free while snappy percussion holds focus. and while were not one to pick favorites, russells remix of zemi17s rangda, stripped to its bare essentials, is almost a purer representation of the original than the original itself, designed to lift a willing crowd into a trance state
