a-ton is proud to announce panama / suez, the first ep by trio oren ambarchi, konrad sprenger and phillip sollmann (aka efdemin). the three multi-instrumentalists collaborated with the goal of creating subtly shifting musical passageways: sonic routes that run between continents of musical category. the results are two variations of kraut-y, groove-based post-techno that unfurl through mutating polyrhythms and chiming, ethereal guitar play – a rare moment of guitar and techno in deep embrace. with a potential to sustain energy on experimental dancefloors, panama / suez lives from ambarchi, sprenger and sollmann’s diverse input while reflecting a common penchant for both pop and the hypnotic.

pionneering production from the düsseldorf mid 80s electronic underground world. transferred for the first ever time from the original cassette to vinyl. konrad kraft (detlef funder) is one of the still overlooked producers of düsseldorfs fertile electronic music scene. arctica was originally released on cassette on funders imprint sdv tontrager in 1987 in a handmade edition of about 50 copies only.

when beatsqueeze offered me the opportunity to release a 7” with them, i instantly thought i should make the most out of the many chinese samples i had saved for my chinoiseries project. this record includes many unused samples, drum breaks, sounds and other various samples on side a and side b is a proper dj-tool (skipproof) made to scratch with. make your own chinoiseries beat and then scratch on top of it, i thought that was a pretty cool idea!

conrad van orton debuts on attic music for the 15th installment of label. “hypersomnia” is a collection of haunting techno tracks that sit on the darker side of the genre’s spectrum without loosing it’s dance floor appeal.
the 4 track spanning record opens up with the title track “hypersomnia” though techno sounds that revolve around a train-like whistle that repeats throughout the track’s poignantbuild. “green eyes” is an intrusive piece of work that closes down the a-side with it’s intense synth works. on the b side we find “iteration”. this growling piece of music has an almost live sounding quality to it. “ending point” is the toughest piece of work of the record which revolves around a fierce bass sound and a potent drum work.

onra finishes this epic trilogy with class as a result of extended record digging across the far east and the producer s own development over the preceding 10 years.

der komponist und konzeptkünstler conrad schnitzler (1937-2011) ist einer der wichtigsten vertreter deutscher elektronikmusik-avantgarde. er studierte bei joseph beuys, war mitglied bei tangerine dream und kluster und veröffentlichte unzählige solowerke. das silberne album (2009 nur auf vinyl unter dem namen silver auf dem italienischen label qbico erstveröffentlicht) ist eine von schnitzler zusammengestellte archivsammlung aus den jahren 1974/75.
