als nach dem fall des eisernen vorhangs die ersten frachtschiffe aus westeuropa in klaip&#279,,da anlegten, konnte niemand ahnen, dass mit ihnen eine völlig neue und unbekannte musikkultur in litauen ankommen würde. es war die erste stadt in diesem land, die auf den geschmack dessen kam, was man damals elektronische rave-musik nannte. daher ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass die bekannteste litauische band für elektronische musik der 1990er jahre in klaip&#279,,da, der hafenstadt des landes, geboren wurde.

die erste veröffentlichung von lizdas records ist eine hommage an die vergangenheit. denn ohne exem und ihre legendären tracks, die es damals sogar in die mainstream-medien schafften, sähe die heutige litauische elektronische musikszene ganz anders aus.

anva records meldet sich nach 5 jahren pause triumphal zurück, und im mittelpunkt steht der produktive alexey orlov, der sich mit seinem engsten verbündeten und anva-labelbesitzer tagir zusammengetan hat. die -freaks ep- zeigt beide produzenten in topform und bietet eine 3-track-ep mit anspruchsvollen dancefloor-cuts.

london based electronic music label khemia records announces its sixth split release vinyl ep. the second edition of the magnum opus series on khemia records features a new production from berlin based modular powerhouse blush response alongside an electrifying collaboration between years of denial, who have previously released on oliver ho’s death and leisure label and russian techno auteur alexey volkov (jealous god). on the solar side blush response delivers ‘you will cry out in grief’ a maelstrom of industrial electronics seethes under a furious barrage of complex rhythms, as evolving symmetries disperse into incandescence. on the lunar side years of denial meet alexey volkov in the first of a new collaborative series - ‘confess’. barkosina hanusova’s voice ricochets against caustic snares as she intones a fetishistic ritual of contorted flesh and altered states.

eric cloutier launched palinoia last year with a single of his own, but now he s turned to berlin mainstays exercise one to lay down some of their trademark psychoactive machine music for the second installment. heptagon sports metallic synth notes clanging out over a freight train of techno drums, while prism takes a more nimble approach to twist out its various synthetic squeaks. nitrogen is a warmer proposition, placing the emphasis on chords and melodies while still aiming squarely at the dancefloor. thirty four finds the duo veering away from the 4/4 dogma to deliver a captivating kind of broken techno in a soundscape loaded with tension and ominous empty space.

alexey volkov first appeared in the techno scene in 2011. his past releases on the semantica and jealous god labels have gained alexey and his music widespread acclaim. since his debut, alexey has been busy crafting and perfecting his sound. his origins in punk and industrial become apparent in his new ep for escapism. he continuously proves that his assertive yet refined style is worth the hype as unconventional rhythms and unsettling sounds dominate the tracks.

nice price deal !!! alexey volkov who returns to the label with his interwave ep, comprising 4 killer tracks. known for his releases on planete rouge, this producer started his career in northwestern russia ( saint petersburg) in 1997 as a local underground techno dj, enthusiastic record collector and music experimenter. volkov takes much of his inspiration from early synthesizer music and the industrial music scene, as well as artist such as daniel miller, chrislo haas. he also taken inspiration from 80s ebm and new / synth/ dark wave scene from belgium, france and germany. as well as planete rouge, he has also recently released music on semantica. his interwave ep is dark, raw and full of character.

in cars we rust is their debut album, and it presents the most complete picture of exercise ones world to date. the dancefloor stormers are still there, and the records flow is guided by the same spirit of improvisation that drives their live sets. but the clubbier material is rounded out by sounds weve never heard from exercise one before: gorgeous, enveloping ambient tracks soundtrack-ready synthesizer ballads even a kind of retro-futurist electro-pop.
