mit seinen vielschichtigen grooves zieht er die aufmerksamkeit auf sich. auf dieser ep ist ein altes juan atkins-sample „buy some shit from detroit“ zu hören, das seit jahren teil von beroshimas live-sets ist. der exzellente opener encounter spiegelt eine idee wider, die jeff mills und muller kürzlich hatten, um gemeinsam tracks für einen noch nicht produzierten sci-fi-film zu produzieren. es ist ein achtminütiger astral-techno-trip mit sanften, treibenden drums und vielen intergalaktischen synthesizer-linien. the passion of lovers“ überträgt den organischen beroshima-stil ins jahr 2018 und zeigt franks leidenschaft für spacige electronica. es ist ein brillant stoßendes stück mit geschmeidigen synths und melodien, die seele und farbe hinzufügen, während es durch die galaxien rast.

corazon wurde 2008 veröffentlicht. mit remixen vom detroit-meister claude young, alex bau und dem chef von parsec records: robotnik. 3 mixes, alle unterschiedlich, alle funky. original-lagerbestände!

rezension aus einem niederländischen magazin aus dem jahr 2008: ich kann diese ep nur als absolut fantastisch bezeichnen. alle drei tracks sind einfach brillant und spiegeln nichts als die liebe zur musik und das pure talent derjenigen wider, die sie produziert haben. der original- und der cosmonaut-mix sind beides midtempo-floorfiller, von denen man nur träumen kann, während der america-remix den track direkt in die umlaufbahn der perfektion katapultiert. diese ep darf man sich einfach nicht entgehen lassen. die absolute nummer eins unter den eps dieses herbstes von 365mag, die in diesem jahr wohl kaum zu übertreffen sein wird. begrenzte stückzahl verfügbar!

inspiriert von den texten von ric ocasek wurde beroshimas „this could be love“ vor einigen jahren in einer etwas abgespeckten version veröffentlicht. dank neuer technologie, stimmmodulation und der aufmerksamkeit, die es in letzter zeit erlangt hat, erscheint es nun in einer völlig anderen version zum ersten mal auf vinyl. für die liebhaber der goldenen electroclash-Ära ist dies der richtige jam.

berlin based techno titan frank muller adopts his beroshima alias for a new four track ep that is already been hailed by the likes of marcel dettman and laurent garnier. first emerging in the nineties, muller has since become a techno great who has played from asia to south america and beyond. he’s had plenty of underground hits on the likes of cocoon and soma, and held some key residencies over the years. always one to command your attention with his multi layered grooves, this ep features an old juan atkins sample “buy some shit from detroit” that has been part of beroshima’s live sets for years. excellent opener ‘encounter’ reflects a recent idea jeff mills and muller had to produce tracks together for a not yet produced sci-fi movie. it is an eight-minute astral techno trip with smooth, driving drums and plenty of intergalactic synth lines. ‘the passion of lovers’ transfers the organic beroshima style into 2018 and shows off frank’s passion for spaced out electronica. it’s a brilliantly bumping cut with lithe synths and melodies adding that soul and colour as it races through the galaxies. the iconic ‘buy some’ with the atkins sample then surges into the future with icy hi hats dancing over rubbery drums. the warped synths take the lead and bring a real sense of off kilter energy to this most timeless bit of techno. last of all is the fantastic space mix of ‘encounter’ which is dreamy and cinematic with exquisite keys and pads colouring in a huge night sky as the drums drive things along. this is an archetypal techno ep filled with cosmic colours and serene emotions.
