this is a long overdue collaboration and we couldnt be more excited to present a brand new ep from our man, jenas mad scientist funk freak himself, metaboman. a stalwart veteran of the legendary musik krause camp, which has been a kindred spiritual sister label of sorts of ours since the millennium-turn heydays, being fellow purveyors of bold and raw dance floor music, still brimming with new ideas galore and bucket loads of soul. here with the wireless dancer ep we have metaboman in top form offering nothing less than his finest work: doppeldenk starts things off with some classic krause bump that brings to mind the heights of the duo at their peak but updated, like an stl banger turned up to 11 with sinewy melodic lines and that special thuringen twist. hanno follows up with a guest spot by jazz saxophone master thomas prestin, and guarantees to bring down the house with a storm of swinging stabs, rough riffs, and fresh-as-it-gets drum work. on the flip, splitit does exactly that, whether referring to wigs, legs, or that last drink ticket - where dusty blues vox chops and a rolling percussive smack down will revive any fading floor faces. and finally, echterg rounds it all out nicely with the illest of atonal trips and subsonic bass tones that the finer sound systems out there will fully indulge. much love from jena & paris to the world!

there smokes and whistles in zenker’s machine jungle. the best loved and best known brothers of the techno scene are causing a multi-layered schwirbler, which is likely to destroy many dancefloor lasting for years. jelly3000 are essika and andreas damaschun. “wave a wand” is lashed forward by a powerful-impulsive arp, while synths and piano dances light-footed about it and spreads a sustained mood. kessel vale has recently caused quite a stir with two eps on tanstaafl planets and rhythm nation. “stroke” should further expand its reputation as an idiosyncratic excellent producer with a penchant for the playful. steril – that artist you may know from international deejay gigolo records, erkrankung durch musik, schamoni musik, lasergun and müller records…oldschool.

monotone is back on wax! after almost 10 years since we have seen a monotone vinyl release, the return is strong. monotone boss larry mccormick comes with a 6 track mini album with straight up pure electro goodness. the follow up to his album on shipwrec entitled intelectro, larry mccormick aka exzakt offers us a more puristic electro sound that he is known for. kicked off by show the way we get that vintage exzakt sound with crisp 909/808 layed kicks, one step ahead goes the more melodic route but still keeps the beat moving. move because i said so is a fun and funky classic electro sound. creator. vibes are massive on this riding melodic jam. eyes on me is a journey, an atmospere with trancy keys and subsonic pads. magic city is a bit of a departure from the normal sound yet still retains the low end.

killer stuf on klasse wrecks sub label zodiac! frozen russian plains rich with moondust and cybo-fog lie still, a faint rumble is heard from behind the horizon and buttechno checks his pulsemeter 5000, deciding to head on whilst he still can. sonic lighting strikes the dead earth, leaving echoes that reverberate for miles around as digital feedback waves sore through the airless landscape. buttechno steadies his exxo-bike, firing the back up atomic engine before taking a deep breath and heading into the lost and forgotten city. zcapri is the seventh of 12 releases from z o d i a c 4 4. one for each sign of the stars and then z o d i a c 4 4 is forever dead and gone. forever gone and dead.

swinging, ‘weightlessly’ drifting, uk ‘intelligent’ & detroit schools reminiscent techno

the ep opens up with -plastic motion,- a techno track that is full of layers of subsonic pulsations, monolithically consuming the entire a-side. the sounds of the sirens are balanced against heavily stylized basslines moving in and out of the framework while bursts of white noise appear through the fog, creating a telekinetic hallucination. the b-side starts with the title track -confess.- a ruthless song that crushes together bass-heavy broken beat rhythms with straight-ahead kicks and snares. it s about to burst out of its seams any minute as psychedelic synths and buried vocals command it all to stay together.

iron curtis has felt like a polytone artist for quite a while now. he recently delivered a breathtaking remix for matthias vogt, and shared a split ep with the man himself, terrence dixon. hes also played several label nights, but indeed unwind is his first very own ep on polytone. the opening track riders is our floor filler here. a subsonic bass experience of the more intensive kind. its a pure groover, with a surprisingly long lasting breakdown that never lacks on intensity. cream on the a2 is a stellar ambient joint, with rhythmic elements and cosmic pads. on the flip we have the title track, unwind, with an unconventional basic groove, bleepy touches and trademark 707 drum machine sounds. pure and stunning deepness. the final track is a remix from force/emerge and leads unwind into techno territory. polytone stands for diversity, and again demonstrates the labels vision of versatility here.

the first track sees villem step up to remix false alarm by total science, quadrant & iris. flexing his technical prowess with this chest-shattering offering, villem teases sonorous atmospherics around sharp percussive hits, building to a medley of full impact subsonic weight and aggressive drum patterns that cut right through the mix. for his debut appearance on the label, critical impact teams up with vocal powerhouse jakes to deliver geeks and geez. critical impact combines deep, rumbling subs and resonant mid tones which go hand-in-hand with jakes raw vocal energy and no-nonsense lyricism, making this a sure-fire dancefloor heavy hitter for the masses. for the third track, total science drop what i need , a beautifully crafted composition filled with tranquil pads and articulate rolling drums serving as a solid backbone. reversed atmospherics and glistening pianos swell in and out of the track with a deep, warm sub to bring it all together. finally, arcatype s cascade is an immersive roller bursting with ethereal tones and snappy percussions, taking you on a journey of rolled out sub lines and mid-range stabs washed with subtle reverb and delay. classified v3 delivers an across-the-board, cutting-edge offering of their signature d&b blend. combining the raw energy of false alarm and geeks and geez alongside the deep overtones of what i need and cascade classified v3 is solid proof that c.i.a are always at the top of their game, rolling strong since 1996 with no sign of turning back.

ritornell’s richard eigner & abby lee tee originally teamed up to provide the score for a collaboration with filmmaker andreea sasaran and illustrator katja seifert entitled »melting sphere«. sharing a passion for the combination of filigree electronics with playful timbres of diverse acoustic instruments and odd utensils, the cooperation of the two producers was a logical choice.
»melting sphere« merges subsonic bass, kalimba rhythms, accordion sounds and toy bells, all framed by eavesdropping recordings of abby lee tee’s cat, bathroom squeaks for five minutes of organic downbeat bliss.
»tired dancers« on the flipside offers a melancholy tale of seduction relayed from the shadows, with field recordings of nightly city noise, a reversed music box melody, hypnotic chords and meticulous percussion. delicate, celestial cello (by lukas lauermann) and contrabass flute emerge as counterpoint to this rhythmic hypnosis.

013 materializes as a long player titled spectrum prints on machining dreams by myself. a single 12 inch with seven compositions, 3 ambient and 4 proper tunes that dig deep into ones psyche with emotive sounds and highly rhythmic syncopation. recorded with mostly analog gear, so the warmth is present as the sound pallette is completely full of life. in this project i try to cover a full spectrum of waveforms that are printed on vinyl, hence the name spectrum prints.

komisch welcomes another new artist to its fold for its last release of 2011.p.god aka paolo dioguardi hails from naples in italy. still in his 20s, he makes music that belies his youth and neptune iv sounds like the work of a veteran producer. lead track approaching an ocean planet sees grainy, dense beats and hypntoic bleeps take the lead, but hovering above the arrangement, tethered to the reverberated, doubled up claps, are ghostly, eerie chords. the title track adopts a similar approach, with bursts of metallic percussion underscoring spacey pads as p.god drops a droning, tunneling rhythm track. finally, geometric shadows on iced surfaces sees the young producer opt for a deeper approach. this time the chords envelop a purring groove, but the same sense of understated menace is still audible thanks to the austere hats and bleak subsonic bass. capturing jeff millss estoeric side and the hypnotic magic of sleeparchive, neptune iv is a real techno journey!
