in iizuka them found a common ground: based in hokkaido, japan, iizuka does not share the same london influences, yet shares their base values and thrust. common themes of his sound involve broken and syncopated beats, and a rave energy. this is what lead him to being the first and prime them stable artist. voodoo ep showcases this breadth of iizuka’s style, from tracks that could easily fit into any grime set, such as primitive acid, to the more melodic tones of floating point, in which hiroaki guides them into previously untrodden ground for the imprint.

one of the deepest reaching projects from the multifaceted vibraphone stable resurfaces for an extended trip through ambient sonics that marks possibly the most daring departure on the esteemed italian label to date. the harmonious tones undulating throughout sketches from space are instant soothers, taking the odd cue from techno but defiantly beatless and meditative. its a surprising addition to the long and winding vibraphone story, but also feels like one of the strongest steps forward the resurgent label has taken since returning to the fray. just try sinking into lagrangian point l4 and you ll see exactly what we mean.

austrian imprint luv shack records is opening up yet another chapter in 2018 by welcoming irish house and techno aficionado and misfit resident andrew johnston aka moodtrax and his own-brand of super warm and brooding sound to their stable. the perfect illusion ep opens up with never can get away, a steamy & dreamy cut that sucks you right in to its lair of thick pads and trancy sequences, which are contrasted by a carefully programmed synth bassline and a stomping house beat. the title track immediately evokes early chicago warehouse jam feelings, with bass sequence, detuned chords and classic drum patterns all oozing of old analogue roland machines. the meticulously arranged percussions section and a set of eerie strings and pads make this one definitely stand out from the crowd. running number starts as a no-nonsense house track, carried by a beefy unisono bassline and a 16th note heavy drum pattern, yet it transcends into 80s territory with the help of a deeply emotional chord progression that might just make you forget you re in a club. berlin duo longhair give running number the luvremix treatment, really digging deep into that chord progression and building a melody and synth-bell infused italo-house track around it that should make this years festival crowd weep and rejoice alike.

two new york latin soul bangers from legendary band leader hector rivera and vocalist david coleman.. hector wrote and arranged for many famous latin ray barretto, machito, and tito puente as well as releasing several lps himself , these cuts come from his successful lp -at the party-. both sides have been spun by myself for years so happy to finally license them for the aotn stable.

when alexander (boddika) got in touch asking for some new fresh music i knew it was a really important step for me. nonplus is a stable reference label in the techno scene and it was a unique opportunity. i thought the open minded philosophy of the label would help me a lot and i could create more experimental works. i decided to produce the tracks in almost one take… turned on the synths and looked for the perfect range and character of sounds and spent some weeks recording it, finishing with some edits before the final mixing. the final results were more than expected. harmonic rain, the ep mains track has a really special groove, with a main melody which is transposed and slightly altering it gives me a good feeling. the ep feels to me like a complete journey itself. with peak time tracks, and more experimental and warm up music. loops but not loops. in summary, im really happy with this release and with the beginning of this musical relationship with boddika and the nonplus team.

tardis records are delighted to welcome uk tech-house hero flow to the tardis records stable for their eighth release. the three tracks making up the trine ep were recorded together with simon moorecroft (a.k.a. simon vinyl junkie) around the time of his first vinyl releases back in 1996-1997. all three tracks sound completely contemporary whilst having more than enough old school flavour to give flashbacks to any 90s ravers. lead track boy girl action has skipping, garage-influenced beats with rolling bass and swirling atmospherics, whilst a breakbeat, vocals and a stabby intro give trine on the flip a more ravey feel. closing out the ep, i see you is the dubbiest cut here, with another heavy bassline, cut-up vocals,and subtly swung percussion. eli and oscar have loved testing these tracks out on the road and can vouch for their impact on a peak-time dancefloor!

reissue of eblen s fourth album, wonderful experimental music here. tip! mexican guitarist and ambient artist eblen macari s música para planetarios (music for planetariums) was originally composed for weekly performances in the luis enrique erro planetarium in mexico city to accompany a voyage through the galaxy. the album, released in 1987 was based around macari s solo performances using ensoniq esq-1, a korg poly 800, two guitars and pre-hispanic ocarinas. the expanded arrangements recorded for the album include a full stable of pre-hispanic percussion and beautiful baroque harpsichord played by macari s wife. this expansive interplanetary soliloquy is undoubtedly macaris masterpiece. remastered from the original master tapes

were super excited to present the latest artist to join the dirt crew stable, french producer sekou babe. he ticked all the right boxes for us with this beautiful debut ep foresight prevents blindness which explores his fresh and vibey outlook on house with sideways glances to smokey jazz, breaks and garage. the a-side lines up three varied tunes. perspectives of the youth and soukoun step in quickly with lively breakbeat rhythms. the first boasting warm soul vocals and steady bass groove, the second a melancholic yet uplifting back and forth between vintage piano and warbling rhodes. treize zero zero trois is a deep and dreamy house jam. cinematic elements infused with punchy percussion and 80s sonic touches add up to good times all round. on the b, our good friend nachtbraker does what he does best, flipping treize zero zero trois bringing the deep, dubby amsterdam vibrations. his version is lush, textural and slightly fruity, with surging synths, tropical percussion and a stomping kick. sekou babe rounds things off with the extravagant crown collection, showing us yet another colour in his musical spectrum. its trip hop meets detroit where warped strings introduce shuffling drums before the track begins to build layering subtle arpeggios, smooth pads, crash hits and a buoyant melody. sekou babe would like to add that all tracks were written and produced by b.b. at 7e republique studio and says thanks to peter, ghizlene, mohammed and florian, you beautiful souls.

new to the naar stable, in:state & giuli make their debut in stunning style.visitoz is a straight forward techno affair, as bumping as it is surprising. using a deceptively simple gated arp and horn to dazzlingly complex effect. the track is potentially the most peak time naar has gone yet, and it s an incredibly welcome addition to their canon. on remix duty lauer takes a hold of the main arpeggio and turns it monstrous in the style of liasions dangeruese, yet balances this with his trademark lightness of touch and his ear for a heart wrenching synth line, creating an instant classic that feels like it was beamed straight in from 1986. -plus 1- has been sent from a parallel dimension where the evolution of music took a turn so different that proto garage stands where proto house should be. the track has the step and swagger of the most compelling end of the 2 step movement, but balances that with the surprising naivete and earnestness found in italo, ebm and early forays from chicago. finishing things off, lizards return to the label for a welcome encore following last years success with their 1st release,tanni.

finally the long-awaited second series of invisible family outings has arrived.label boss and compiler gk machine has this to say beyond ecstatic to get these tracks out. the gazeebo track i ve been playing in my sets for years. digital only but so great it definitely needed to get pressed onto wax! i would dj with it using ableton and speed it up a lot so for the vinyl i asked jon (nedza) who ive been a huge fan of since his community recordings releases on grayhound and imperial dub, whether he could speed it up a little bit before we pressed it up. now its 100% perfect: a moroder-esque cosmic stomper thats sure to set any dancefloor alight. the apiento track is another one that s been gestating for a long time first appearing around the time the original e.s.p. 12inch appeared on the wonderful golf channel recordings in 2014. secret circuit gave it a complete overhaul, in fact several complete overhauls, plus some of his signature guitar and has turned the already blissful track into an afro-esque, trippy, beautiful, beautiful piece of music that (imo) is one of his best yet. utterly gorgeous! then there s the boy-girl retro-future duo der kundalini coming from the wonderful lectric sands stable in ny who gave us zoovox. this one s also been hiding on my hard drive way too long! finally relative newcomers konzel (of junto club/optimo music fame) & natural sugars (pardon my french) round off the package just perfectly. the former so distinct that i felt it was a perfect opener for the a side. so, i hope you dig it and keep an eye out for the super limited 12-track cassette too! limited to 300 hand-numbered copies.

nice price deal !!! yore proudly adds detroits drivetrain to the stable. drivetrains the nom de plume for derrick thompson, a dj and producer who heads up soiree records international, a label with a strong soulful house focus, who has been around since detroits early days. with over 50 releases on his back, from beatdown sessions to numerous remixes & collaborations, you can tell that >drivetrain< has a soft spot in his heart for the rich production values of 70s philly soul associated with producers such as gamble & huff and thom bell. that kinship comes through loud and clear in the eps second cut, >the rain<, when thompson sweetens the tunes brisk rhythms with triangle, electric piano, alto sax, flute, acoustic bass and a gravelly >make love (in the rain)< command that sounds like its oozing from the lips of a tasty dj. >the rain< is trumped by the a-sides >angel (serenity mix)<, which opens with a sinuous house thrust and then heats up with a tight, jacking groove that thompson soulfully embellishes with synthesizer flourishes and a smooth vocal refrain of the songs title. the vibe is lush and soulful in the extreme, with the vocals alternating between a soft murmur and robust declamation while the percolating, dub-inflected house pulse pushes determinedly forward underneath. the ep ends with the title track, >tragedy park<, which is closer in spirit to a stomping techno raver thats had a smidgen of acid thrown in for extra flavour. definitely a floor shaking bomb
