croatian producer el nino andres is steadily building up an impressive arsenal of disco and deep house heaters on his own jackie brown label, having previously been running the hija de colombia imprint. on this fourth slab he pushes his sound into even more intriguing places. opening track slow mo tuesdays lets things roll out on a decidedly dusty tip carried by off-kilter drums. riviera blues stands out thanks to its tough 80s-styled drums and warm soulful melodics. low end massacre meanwhile gets choppy in the edit and makes a devilishly good job of riding the samples.

brooklyn musician and red bull music academy alum sam posner created el niño & the southern oscillations as a meditation on the the beauty and power of the ocean. the tracks flow through timeless electronica influenced by selected ambient era aphex twin and early larry heard as well as contemporary artists like carribou and jamie xx. posner sketched the framework and palate for the project over a few years of travel, bringing the final ep together in a sea-side cabin watching waves crash against the rocky maine coast.

el nino andres delivers a full length debut for hija de colombia, and the music he provides for this releases is a step further in deepness of tech house. album is a intensive orchestral affair, going for over 70 minutes of drums, big piano hooks, strings and other mostly acoustic and analogue instruments, over a percussion layered beats.

first on decks.de!!! hija de colombia is putting out its second release in the middle of november. after great dj, radio and press reactions on its first release - >loco suenos ep<, there was no need to change much. el nino andres is again the artist, but the music he provides for this releases is a step further in deepness of tech house. anton kordic, who records under the name el nino andres, provides the somophore release, a two track fusion of south american, detroit and berlin influences. title track is a intensive orchestral affair, going for full 14 minutes of drums, big piano hooks and sax layers. b side >illmatico< is a percussion monster, that builds under a catchy organ melody. the cycle repeats every 2 minutes, and tracks subtly builds layers and layers of rhythm.

hija de colombia is a new label, which looks set to blur both international and genre boundaries. despite the columbian appearance the label is headed up by a 24 year old croatian named anton kordic who is now based in mostar.

in el nino, reduced hats, droning groove, elegant synths, and the hypnotic voices of der himmer über berlin are leonels key elements to a serious and straight masterpiece that perfectly translates his personal vision into sound. lluvia de estrellas takes us on a voyage through cosmic woodlands, clutching on the multitude of shuffled synth-lianas and leafing through its fantastic and grand breaks. lucas mari devellops a two-folds remix with a first part dedicated to a more ambient interpretation, while the second explores fresh and groundbreaking rhythmic patterns adopting some 2 step connotation. follow the shaman!!
