to those of you who know your techno. shawn rudiman should be a well-known name. a prolific producer. he has nevertheless always kept his quality control on a tight leash. and releases on 7th city. technoir audio. integrated. dust science & matrix (amongst others) have brought him a reputation of being one of the finest producers around of contemporary detroit style (aka melodic) techno. a nice taster on the last minimalsoul release (sashimi hi) has hence led on to a full ep. and its classic stuff...tough beats and esoteric but catchy melodies all tied up with an expansive production ethic make for a great listen. and (perhaps unusually with this style of music) for a great dancefloor experience too!
