the uk house legend sir lord comixx is back 20 years later…splendid 90 s house music taken from his old dat. member of the classic label ugly music & half of future monument with justin david, he created an unique style of house music that goes across time. back in the days his music has been enjoyed by many known names, such as derrick may, carl craig, blake baxter and danny tanaglia. he delivered here 5 timeless tracks with the strict idea of taking your shoes on to dance and spiritually travel !

london-based producer cera alba pairs up with vocalist zahra for a pair of tough tracks on jamie jones’ hottrax this june featuring a remix from stockholms tiger stripes. since his humble beginnings several years ago the newcastle-born artist has cemented a reputation for consistency, with releases appearing on the likes of hot creations, moon harbour, viva music, avotre, madtech and gruuv. as a dj he’s been making regular appearances across europe, including venues such as watergate berlin, sankeys ibiza, brixton academy london, not to mention festivals such as hideout. taking over me is a dark and moody roller from the get-go. robust drums and mesmerizing atmospherics form its basis whilst zahras soulful vocals and a cavernous low-end rumbles throughout to its rhythm as a piercing vocal and metallic elements ebb in and out of the mix. tiger stripes then provides a crunchy remix of taking over me, distorting zahras vocals whilst incorporating tantalizing synths into his own stomping rendition.

doing things properly and building up a diy phenomenon from their base in zurich, the les points crew have brought a fresh, daring originality to the house and techno scene with their gritty outboard approach and a wide range of stylistic tendencies. taking a break from releasing on their own label, audino, barbir, louh and nicola kazimir have been invited to the evergreen trelik to broach their music to a wider audience. from the blissful space techno groove of -anubis- to the tightly wound beats of -housepacer- and on to the cranky acid funk of -ripstyle-, this is yet another distinctive transmission from the plucky swiss crew.

patrick topping returns to hot creations with his taking libz ep and demonstrates why his reputation carries such weight with three special tracks that act as a master-class in how to create music that will consume dance floors. first up is brayed which takes the listener on a loopy and enriching journey, whilst howk is a classic foot-to-the-floor number. concluding the ep is taking libz, the title track that sees topping firmly hold onto his crown with this unstoppable cut. i-d magazine described patricks style that is characterized by punchy,chugging baselines that have become weapons in the sets of many a dj. started his career djing at the club night motion in newcastle, he was quickly snapped up by jamie jones, for hot creations. releases on the label and a residency at paradise dc10 in ibiza soon followed and 2014 saw him release get beasty, forget and voicemail featuring green velvet and concluded with a hattrick of awards including winning the dj mag best newcomer, track of the season and best tune awards in their best of british awards.

tzusing returns to l.i.e.s. with his third and (final?) name out of place ep after two now sought after percusors leading up to this one. again we are not disappointed as the massive opener face of electric hits hard taking a typical breakbeat formula and adding some sort of bizarre ritualistic element like the zulu nation or george kranz in a ceremony at a steel factory. emotional eater slows the tempo down, but again the machines grind hard with tinges of acid, heavy rhythms and sparse vocals moving in and out, while the closer r is a stripped down beater made for mixing. top stuff from the in demand producer.

as we like eclectic sounds from different genres within electronic music, our upcoming release leads us into more deeper and dubbed out grooves. to this occasion we have invited a new project to our roster, novio dub tribe who delivers some slow and warm sounding grooves to us, or as we call it, an >old school dream< the man behind the project is no other than roger gerressen and friends, who has already convinced many listeners with his works in recent years and we are really proud to welcome him to the label family. the track -boundary dub- is coproduced with ivano tetelepta. we continue our journey to deliver quality, timeless music, as always on vinyl!

17 steps is the new record label from uk act dusky, aka nick harriman and alfie granger-howell. the debut love taking over ep leads with a unique title track that represents duskys hybrid approach to production perfectly. drawing on dark, hypnotic melodies that reference classic jungle vibes, soulful vocal samples, and tough, intricate grooves, love taking over also hits with a gritty percussive edge making for a fresh and distinctly dusky production.

i am sure joe goddard needs no introduction, the co-founder of greco-roman and leading member of hot chip + one half of 2 bears releases this stunning 4 track ep. the title taking over is, as joe says: a reference to that moment when the music at a club starts to really hit you, when it forces you to focus on it and the night ahead. featuring collaborations with boris dlugosch and mara carlyle, taking over is an attempt to make synthesizers sound nice. the lead single from the ep is the step together which was premiered on the b traits (in for annie mac) on bbc r1 last friday. since that announcement step together has received more plays across the bbc networks. we have big plans radio wise for this track and we expect to see a lot more plays forthcoming across, bbc r1, 6 music, 1xtra, xfm and kiss fm.

the mad aussies at haul music have changed things up a lot since the inception of their digital imprint nearly 5 years ago. in what might be described as a backwards move made by label-men who have simply lost their edge, they began releasing on vinyl only. first with a limited run of ornately illustrated portraits of the label owners, and now they are set to present a vinyl-only release from a cast of relative-unknowns.

loke rahbek returns with his fifth album under the croatian amor alias with love means taking action, recently premiered at the 2016 edition of berlin atonal where it was considered by many as one of the festival highlights. although not as harsh and abrasive as previous albums, such as genitalia garden or last years the wild palms, rahbeck still manages to execute a polarising opus, comprised of short ambient journeys which incorporate various sonic influences and clever use of sampling outside of his usual employment of textural noise treatments. field recordings, immaculate synthesis and emotional vocal snippets are interspersed throughout this exploration of love and human connection. the title track, in particular, could well be one of our favourite songs this year. quite simply: breathtaking.
